Stayed Jan 1, 1The house was nicely furnished, warm, with well equipped kitchen and amazing sea views. The owners had gone to the trouble of thinking of lots of small touches to make the house homely and comfortable. A short walk down Queens Steps into the town for restaurants, cafes, and local shops, and easy walking access to local beaches. We enjoyed our stay over Xmas.

Stayed Jan 1, 1We enjoyed our stay at Bosun’s Cottage. The views over the harbour were a daily pleasure, a wide expanse of sea, boats big & small coming and going, and the pretty painted houses stacked up on the opposite harbourside. The location was convenient for us, a short walk to the harbour for the Co-Op and fish n chips, and several small beaches in walking distance (we were car-less). The nearest one, Breakwater Beach was surprisingly pleasant, with a handy cafe & toilets, and good swimming. The cottage is spacious (downstairs) and comfortable in the main. We found the beds a bit small, but the charming old cottage dimensions probably can’t accommodate bigger beds. There is a certain amount of noise from the working harbour at night but double glazing keeps that out. The spacious terrace is a welcome feature, with a rotary dryer for laundry. The kitchen has loads of work surface and is well equipped if you want to cook - which we did.

Stayed May 30, 2025A very nice house. Overlooking the harbour. The 100 steps from the harbour to the house are a good training :) . There were some little things not really perfect: No teatowels, no teapot ( and that in England) :) and the the toiletseat was loose and noone came to repair that. No real problems and we took it with a smile. Brixham is nice , good pubs and 2 good restaurant at the harbour, La petite maison and Beamers. We had a good time!

Stayed Jan 1, 1Fabulous cottage! Up high overlooking the harbour and town so fabulous to sit on the patio or inside huge bi folding windows and watching the harbour activity, especially at night! Wonderful views all round the coast towards Torquay and the ships in the bay. On top of the hill, so hard to get down into town and back.. so not for the old or infirmed. Two wonderful log burners… and huge kitchen to die for overlooking the harbour… and induction hob so no chance of anyone getting burned. Only downside… bedroom stairs narrow so again not for anyone who struggles with mobility or a dog! Also, we went in Feb and the patio didn’t get any sun because it’s shrouded by the kitchen extension. Bonus was that it didn’t get windy either, so nice to sit outside out of the wind, but it needed some sun! Don’t know whether we’re being unfair and that changes in the summer months, but we had no sun at all during our stay, even though it was a sunny week. But apart from that… fabulous apartment and great spot to chill out! Minutes downhill into the town and harbour with a fabulous walk to a little beach, steep uphill coming back! So if you’re reasonably fit and can tackle the hill, you’ll love it!
