The stairs from the street level up to the third floor was an athletic feat. Having to go from the 3rd floor bedroom downstairs to access a shared bathroom on the second floor in the middle of the night was inconvenient. The seating areas were very nice.

Property is perfectly located. We were able to enjoy all of the points of interest. The property had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We were able to visit the Cliffs Cave Dwelling, Cave of the Winds, Seven Falls, Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center, and Garden of the Gods. We also rode the Cogway Railway which is a short walk from the home. We really enjoyed the hot tub, and the enclosure made it even more comfortable. This property checked every box and we look forward to returning!

The cottage was quaint and cozy. It was well stocked with a full kitchen and everything we needed. The views were spectacular, especially from the large deck. The host thought of everything, even holiday season decorations. We especially enjoyed wood burning fireplace/stove and we plan to stay again next year. Note: the parking is limited and the host lives next door and does monitor the property/parking.

The house itself was in good working order. Its an older house but was cozy. The stairs to get to the house and to leave were diabolical. I would not reccomend this home to anyone older with physical difficulties or anyone with kids.

Charming 140 year old home, stairs are the way they designed them long ago & not easy but no problem if you don’t have mobility issues. Balcony views are what make this home by far. So worth it. Also close to many things to do. We did a high tea, dinner at Cliff House, Sunwater spa & more. Instructions from owner were clear & easy to follow. I would consider coming here again.

Great house with tons of character. The location is perfect as its near town, the cog train, and Garden of the Gods.Pack light, the front steps are a challenge and the door lock, while explained needs attention, but all in all a great property.

We planned a hiking trip - Pikes Peak. Location is JUST PERFECT. We hiked just around the property to start our hike from Barr Trailhead. We didn’t have to worry about finding a parking spot way early in morning. We didn’t get to use hot tub, so can’t comment on it. It’s an old home but very homely. Kitchen is fully stocked with all essential utensils, dishes, coffee makers. Bosch dishwasher :)! Huge refrigerator! We didn’t check if it is able to make ice or not - perhaps, waterline is not connected! It’s right across from Cograil Depot and small river coming down from the mountain. Porch faces the depot, valley towards Colorado Springs and ridge. Amazing views! Overall, this is a great place for everyone seeking for a weekend get away or weeks of retreat from hustle and bustle!

The view from the balcony is wonderful! The picture is what sold me on this rental. That and the proximity to the cog train depot. We simply walked down to the station in the morning. The house is also a very short walk to the Barr Trail trailhead. Very convenient to someone wanting to hike the Pikes Peak Trail. The house was clean and the beds comfortable with thick comforters. There are a lot of stairs and they are narrow. The listing did say there were stairs, but we didn’t appreciate how many to reach the bedrooms.

We kind of got shaftedI’ve never written a negative review before, but really feel like we got shafted by these hosts. Shortly before our trip began my wife injured her knee and needs surgery once we get home. But we were past the refundable period on this house so thought we’d give it a try, even knowing that there were a LOT of steps (50 from the street to the bedroom floor). It only took a day to realize her knee couldn’t take it. I explained this to Jean, and asked if there was any way to get a refund. She said, ”The way to get a refund is if you cancel and then the property is booked by another guest.” So we canceled and they quickly rebooked 6 of our 9 remaining nights.Great news - until our refund came. They refunded the equivalent of 1-1/2 nights.I asked Jean how they came up with that number. Silence. So basically they used our misfortune to double book (and double charge for) the property, then sent a small percent to us as a refund. Not cool. Contractually yes, they could do that. Was it the right thing to do? Not hardly!

Amazing walkable access to Barr trail & the Cog Railway. Fully stocked kitchen! Lots of hummingbirds to watch while you're sitting on the porch. A bear knocked over the trashcan our first night, so good thing it has a lock on top! The pinpad lock gives a bit of trouble, but not bad once you figure out the trick. Great place to stay overall!

Everything is sloped down hill, floors, appliances and beds. We suggest that you inform others of the amount of stairs that are involved, both exterior and interior. If you are elderly it’s important to have known that.
