We enjoyed our week at the Bluegill cottage - it was so close to the lake and easy to get around town. The neighborhood was peaceful and seemed equal parts rentals and year-round tenants. There were a few additional items that might have made the stay a 5-star stay. Minor things like a few kitchen staples (cookie tray, aluminum foil or plastic wrap), working darts for the dart board, curtains or blinds for the front room (guest in that room felt very exposed), and maybe a beach chair or two? We did use the fire pit and kayaks almost daily. The cottage welcome packet had some excellent food and outing recommendations that we took advantage of. We stayed/played outside all day and returned to the cool and comfy cottage and slept well in the comfortable beds. (We also appreciated the multifunctional chargers available for use!) Communications before checking in with the host were easy - and we didn't need to contact them for anything during our stay. It's a cozy little place - the cottage and Spring Lake, itself. We would gladly go back.
We can't say enough about this fantastic little cottage. Every amenity was thought of - cords for iPhones, comfy beds with lots of pillows, supplies in the kitchen for cooking and grilling. Even night lights with sensors that make it easy to navigate in the dark. We even took advantage of the kayaks - it's an easy walk down to the water. Would definitely stay here again - thank you!!!
Great family and friend time We did soccer in the sand tourney and was nice to have a house to relax at with friend
Overall this property was exactly what we needed for our short weekend. I have a family of six and we were fine with the bed situation, but the one bathroom would have been a problem had we stayed any longer :) The king size bed was very comfy. We did not use the kitchen, but it was well stocked with everything needed. I would recommend this property.
The cottage was absolutely adorable. The perfect size for our short stay. The “3rd bedroom” could use some window coverings on all the windows and the French door for privacy, but other than that it was perfect. A short walk to the water and also to restaurants. The fire pit and s’mores were the perfect way to finish out our evenings.
Nicely decorated, perfect for cottage/ lake vibe. Extremely clean. Would stay again.
Our family of four had a wonderful stay! The home was clean and had everything we needed. The neighborhood was quiet and quaint! My husband and son enjoyed the kayaks and darts. We visited the state beach and also north beach - both were great (and different from one another). The cottage was the perfect size for our family and six people is definitely the max number of people that would comfortably fit. Hope to go back again soon!
Very nice and super close to the beach.
On our first night one of our nieghbors decided to perform with acoustic guitars and amazing vocals for a full hour. It was a great way to start our vacation. It took us awhile to figure out our access to the lake, but we spent most of our time visiting local attractions anyway. The house was a great place to come back too at the end of the day and with a 2 year old we appreciated the quiet neighborhood after 9pm.
Nice, older home close to very small beach and lake perimeter bike path. Internet/WiFi was great and worked well. Kitchen had all essentials. With only 1 bathroom its better for smaller family. Check with the owner first on the checkout cleaning requirements before reserving as the cleaning fee does not cover everything. VRBO agent told us no cleaning reqd but owner had laundry, dishes and garbage by tenants in the welcoming email and again in the checkout instructions. Very nice area for families.
This beautiful cottage lived up to our expectations. The location was perfect in a quiet neighborhood and a quick walk to the water. It was so pleasant to be located outside of the action of Grand Haven while being able to drive to the GH Beach quickly. We have stayed in several VRBO locations before and Courtney's attention to the things that matter to a guest were not overlooked. We can't think of anything that we wished was there but wasn't. We definitely appreciated the use of the kayaks, gas grill and the covered lounge area. I wish we could have stayed longer because having a fire and roasting some S'mores would have topped off the trip! They even provide the firewood! We brought 2 bikes and the open space in the shed gave us a place to safely store them. Bring a bike or 2 because the paved walking/bike trails (just a few blocks away) are fun to ride on. You will not be disappointed with this property! Thank you Courtney and Matthew for sharing such a lovely place to relax.
We had a lovely stay at the Blue Gill Cottage! We loved the modern but yet cozy touches in every room. Outdoor patio seating and fire pit area was so inviting. The lake was just down the street and one street over was another area to view the lake and watch the fishermen. I loved that the Village Baker was within walking distance. Short drive to Grand Haven, where we shopped at the Farmers Market and Michigan Artisan booths, Also not too far from the Grand Haven lighthouse. Such an enjoyable stay!
Just down the street from spring lake and walking distance to village baker.
Great location and space for my husband and I to spend our 1st year anniversary. Kayaks are provided and the nearby waterfront areas are beautiful! The house is so cozy and homey. I love the thoughtful touches to the place like local coffee and phone chargers in multiple locations. We went on multiple walks through the neighborhood. Very laidback and fun place to relax and unwind.
Beautiful, comfortable property!
