Welcome to our Cottage at Massies Mill at the base of the Priest Mountain in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The cottage is close to hiking, Crabtree Falls, the Tye River, skiing, golf, wineries and breweries. There are orchards and farms close by, which are fun to visit for picking your own strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, cherries, apples, pumpkins and peaches as the seasons permit. Our cozy cottage sits on 2 private acres, ready for you to enjoy. Our cottage is tastefully decorated and boasts a complete kitchen, so dine in, or dine out and taste some of the delicious local food. The front porch and back deck are great places to relax and enjoy the views, and to share a good bottle of local wine.

You will feel right at home in our cottage and settle in for a night of comfort after a day of activities. There are two bedrooms downstairs, one with with a queen bed and the other with a day bed with trundle bed. Upstairs is a suite; a bedroom with a queen bed, a sitting area, and bathroom. The kitchen is complete, well-equipped and stocked for the chef in your group. The dining table has room for 6, with place settings for 6. There's Roku streaming TV and internet.

We are close to whatever activity you might hope to find. We are 3 min from the Tye River, 10 min from the Appalachian Trail and hiking trail up the The Priest, and 15 min to Crabtree Falls and Meadow. Spy Rock, Blue Ridge Pkwy, Humpback Rocks, plus much more are just a little further up Crabtree Falls Hwy. The closest brewery is the Devil's Backbone 15 min away, with Wintergreen skiing, tubing, snowboarding and other activities up the mountain from there. The brewery count is at 7 within an easy drive. Wineries abound in this area, with at least 23 open for wine tasting.

If visiting other quaint towns and cities is on your agenda, the cottage is only 45 min to Charlottesville, Staunton, or Lexington.

There's river rafting and tubing on the James within 40 min.

There's at least 20 restaurants for dining out in this area, less than 30 min away; many are quite good.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We were welcomed with a handwritten note and fresh-cut flowers from the property. Enjoyed our mornings on the front porch watching the sun rise over the mountains. Couldn't have been more relaxing!

We wanted a place to just get together for some family time. The cottage was clean and cozy. It is off the beaten path, which was fine with us. We did a little hiking on the Appalachian Trail.

Host was very responsive to my questions and the cottage is lovely. It was well equipped with everything we needed and we hope to return next year in warmer weather so we can enjoy the deck and front porch.

Thoroughly enjoyed staying at Karin and Brads cottage before wedding day to run errands, get license and finalize details. Small family gathering on last of a multi day stay and was able to cook dinner and breakfast with ease. Everything is available and instinctively placed to use. Most gracious host; plan to visit again!
