Best Beach Location in Santa Monica! Our Summer Stretches Through Fall!

Great location. Internet was sporadic through our whole stay, but it turned out to be an unplugged wifi-extender. Not ideal, but it happens. Only downside are the very loud garbage trucks in the alley. They start banging early and on various days of the week (depending on what type - garbage, recycling etc). The TV's could also be upgraded as they're small and the sound is lacking.

Booking was as advertised. Really enjoyed the easy beach access.

The listing does not lie — this is the best beach location. Easy access at the end of the block. You can easily walk into downtown Santa Monica or stroll along Main St. We had everything we needed for our one week stay — plenty of towels, comfy bed, nicely stocked kitchen. We thought the space perfect for the two of us. Parking was actually pretty easy once with the parking pass and parking lot. We were here in winter so I can only imagine how amazing the location is for summer beach use. Photos of the listing are completely accurate.

Perfect little spot in an excellent location. The cottage and hosts were excellent. Very accomodating! I could not ask for a better experience while visiting my daughter in Santa Monica for the first time. This is a block from the ocean and walking distance to many of the shops and restaurants downtown. Highly recommend!

Welcoming host and great location!

Such a great location!! Steps to the beach and walking distance to everything. Restaurants, shopping, & even a Trader Joe’s all close by. This little place has so much charm and is well stocked with everything in the kitchen, bedrooms, & great beach stuff! Also, it was so nice to have a washer & dryer.The host was so kind. She did a quick walk through, answered any questions, and left us a sweet welcome basket with all of our favorite goodies! Five star review.

This converted carriage house is delightful. You can sea the ocean from the second floor, where the kitchen and living room are. Thoughtful touches abound within the rental and the host is delightful. You have total privacy inside your space and on a dedicated patio. The Santa Monica Pier is only a few blocks away and Venice beach is 2 miles away. This is a great rental if you're planning to explore the area on foot or rent a bike.

I visit Santa Monica regularly and always check the carriage house’s availability and am so happy when I can book it! I’ve stayed here numerous times over the years and love everything about it. The location is perfect, Dayle provides everything a guest could ever require, and the place is spotless. It’s so nice to have a full kitchen and washer/dryer. When I leave, I wish I were staying longer!

Everything we needed was there and working - well-stocked kitchen, quality linens, reliable WiFi. The historic carriage house has character with all modern conveniences.The location is outstanding. A legitimate two-minute walk to Santa Monica Beach with remarkable walkability. My wife and I left our car parked for days because restaurants, shops, and attractions were all within easy walking distance.Beach access simply doesn't get better. You're essentially on the beach without hotel crowds. We could step outside and be on the sand immediately, making spontaneous walks and sunset viewing effortless.After years of travel and countless accommodations, we recognize quality. This property delivers on every front, and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again or recommend it to others.

Fab stay, Dayle was so helpful and knowledgeable of the area. The location was fantastic, just a stones throw from the beach. The amenities with the accomodation was great, having beach buggy, body boards, chairs etc was a god send. There was everything you needed in the property for an enjoyable stay. It was snug with 5 of us - but we would definitely return. Thank you

The hosts were extremely communicative and accommodating. When we arrived, the host was there to greet us and give us the tour. They provided snacks, a lovely bottle of wine, coffee, and stocked the fridge with half and half. It was so thoughtful! There were plenty of extra bath towels which we appreciated, and a lot of things for the beach - beach towels, chairs, boogie boards, scooters, a wagon, etc. They also had a lot of fun games and movies for the kids. The washer and dryer worked wonders and the kitchen was equipped with everything! Our family of 5 slept very comfortably. The beds were super comfy. We go to California every year and this is now our new favorite VRBO spot. It even has a private, cozy patio. Everything was amazing. We will be back for sure! The hosts were so kind and gracious and simply wonderful. It was the perfect place in Santa Monica too. A couple minutes from the beach, the pier, the famous hotels, and all the restaurants and shops! Highly recommend!

Very cute in ideal locations cannot get better! Great value. Bed was not that comfy but can’t complain. Had a blast and was equipped with everything you need from making meals to hitting the beach just steps away!

Great visit & property

I can't say enough wonderful things about Dayle and her beach cottage. She thought of absolutely everything! The check in process was super easy and parking was easily available on the street and in a neighboring lot- both with provided passes! We never had any issues coming home late at night. The cottage itself is delightful-two floors with a queen bed and bathroom downstairs and full kitchen upstairs. When we were there, it was a bit chilly so we used the heat. No problem at all! Plenty of blankets, pillows, towels. And the shower! What great water pressure....it was super! The location of the unit couldn't be any better. Three minutes walk to the beach and about ten minutes to Santa Monica Pier. You couldn't ask for anything more! We will definitely be back! Thanks again for such a lovely stay.

Great house for a family of four with all the necessary accommodations. Comfortable bed and fully equipped kitchen. Really cute decor and a nice patio and one block from the beach. I would give 5 stars for location but due to the rising homelessness and drug use, it was a disappointing factor. Not Dayles fault but a sad reality Still a great spot to stay!

A cozy getaway just a block from the beach and close to good coffee and food options. The carriage house was a great spot for the 2 of us and Dayle was an excellent host. A very positive experience all around!

I absolutely loved my stay at Dayle's home. It is beautifully decorated with many amenities that you need for your stay at the beach. My family and I enjoyed the walkability of the location and went to the beach/pier every day of our stay. I actually walked 13 miles one day - Venice Beach, Marina Del Ray - so enjoyable and beautiful. The pier was the highlight of the trip for my granddaughter. We purchased the wristband which is good for the entire day. We were able to return in the evening to the pier and ride the rides one more time before the day ended. Dayle is a great host - communicates well and it was so easy to check in. I would love to come back and stay here again!

We recently stayed at this cozy cottage in Santa Monica and had a wonderful experience. The location is unbeatable—just minutes from the beach and Santa Monica Pier. It’s a fantastic home base for exploring everything the area has to offer.While the space is a bit tight for a family of four, it’s well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. If you’re looking for a charming spot in an ideal location, this cottage is a great choice. We’d happily stay here again!

Our fam loved our stay in Santa Monica-great location steps away from the beach, bike trail, pier, and restaurants. The living space is bright, clean, and comfortable. Dayle is a great host; she made us feel welcome and made check-in/out a breeze.

This two story cottage was absolutely the perfect location for our visit to the Los Angeles area of Southern California. The host, Dayle, met us as we arrived, handed us keys and parking permits, and we unloaded quickly. The downstairs of the cottage is basically the bedroom and bathroom, and the upstairs is a kitchenette with a sitting room. I need to brag on the shower as the pressure was wonderful and the showerheads were incredible. One of the best parts of every day of my vacation was that shower. There are TVs with DIRECTV on both levels. Everything you could ever want was provided including a nice hard side cooler, beach towels, beach chairs, etc. The kitchen was also fully stocked with plates, glasses, cookware, etc. A coffee maker along with a fresh package of coffee was provided and delicious. The location is within steps of the Santa Monica pier and beach, as well as downtown Santa Monica shopping and restaurants. Parking was fairly easy with permit parking provided out in front of the unit, and if all of the parking was full, there was a permit for a parking lot just down the block, again with an easy walking distance. It is also less than 1 mile from an entrance ramp onto interstate 10 that will take you anywhere you want to go. I’m telling you, you can’t go wrong with this location. 10 out of 10. Will definitely stay there again.

This location in Santa Monica was perfectly positioned near the beach and was stocked with most everything we could need for the perfect beach trip. This cut down on what we needed to pack ourselves. We found the location to provide easy parking and highway access for our trips into LA while being near enough to the promenade to walk to restaurants and the pier for other activities. We had a great time and would definitely consider this location for another visit to the area.

The place was great! Lots of little touches (snacks, wine, toiletries) really made us feel welcomed. Any type of kitchenware you might need is provided, even baking things like cookie sheets and cake pans. Also loved all the beach things provided (boards, umbrella, chairs, towels). Location was amazing and parking was easy. Place was clean and cozy. Beds were very comfortable. Host was awesome about being available when we had questions or concerns. Would highly recommend this place! Was perfect!

Our host thought of everything!! There was absolutely nothing we needed! We bought some groceries to cook some meals…and when I say steps to the beach I mean steps! Parking was easy…lovely basket of treats when we arrived and oh so comfy! We will be back!

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed 5 nights at Dayles spacious, private 2-story (plus private patio) retreat. Sleeping was luxurious and quiet, home was styled and very well-appointed, beach location was ideal, parking was so convenient, restaurants close. We will return again this year!

We loved it. Close to the beach. If you want to be a tourist head to the Santa Monica pier, if you want to be a local head south to Venice. Great location and so much to do. Hosts were also great!

We finished our amazing California honeymoon in this wonderful spot in Santa Monica. Dayle was a welcoming host, communication was easy and the property perfect. Easy to get to the beach and all the restaurants and nightlife of SM and Venice Beach. Perfect little courtyard for a meal in when we needed a night in too!

It was just me and my 11 yo son. The home was perfect for the two of us and had everything we needed for both inside the house and to take with us to the beach. I highly recommend this property.

We loved our week long stay at Dayle’s place. It was literally steps to the beautiful beach and the Ocean Front Walk. Many wonderful restaurants were within walking distance. We also enjoyed Universal, Hollywood, hiking and horseback riding, all just a short car ride away. The Carriage House felt like “coming home” every night. The place was comfy, cozy and full stocked with everything we needed…including boogie boards and beach chairs that we used daily. Chris and Dayle were so kind and nice. We hope to be back!
