Welcome to Bainbridge Island! We are happy to share our cozy little island cottage with visitors looking for a change of scenery or a longer vacation. Just a beautiful 35 minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle and a short 3 mile drive or cab ride from the Bainbridge Ferry terminal, leave your mainland worries behind and come stay in this quaint, well-cared-for 1930s farmer's cottage next door to our home. The views of Mount Rainier and Puget Sound from all the rooms in the house are soothingand spectacular. The bed is a double (full) bed (this is smaller than a queen) due to room size restrictions. There is also a full (double) sofa bed.

Enjoy fresh-brewed Pacific Northwest coffee every morning as you watch the eagles soar over the cove, then go for a walk along Manitou Beach, just a 2 minute stroll down the hill. Head to island favorite Bay Hay & Feed for morning coffee, pastries and conversation, just 1/2 mile away, and while you’re there check out their amazing plants, garden supplies, and general store.

Well-behaved dog guests are welcome for a $50 fee per visit. Please note that the yard is NOT fenced, so bring a lead if your dog needs one.

The Northwest is meant to be moist, so if it's raining you can hole up in the cottage with board games or a movie, but if you're adventurous (or you come in the summer, and it's gorgeous) grab a complimentary umbrella and head out to explore all the island has to offer. The Bloedel Reserve or Bainbridge Gardens will delight with their botanical wonders. Sample some of our seven island wineries or spend the day checking out the art galleries and shops along Winslow Way.

In the evening, enjoy dinner in Winslow or nearby Lynwood Center, pick up some amazing Italian take-out from nearby Via Rosa (1/2 mile from the cottage), or make a meal in our cozy but well-stocked kitchen. At night meet up with friends at one of the island pubs, enjoy a movie at one of the two island cinemas, or hit the blackjack table or dance floor at nearby Suquamish Clearwater Casino, just across the Agate Pass Bridge connecting the island to the Kitsap Peninsula.

Speaking of the Peninsula, use Bainbridge as your home base while you explore surrounding Northwest favorites like Poulsbo (aka Little Norway on the Fjord), Port Gamble with its 1850s logging town activities, Port Townsend with its historic Victorian charm and the amazing Olympic National Forest.

The cottage is cozy and had all the amenities we needed to enjoy a weekend getaway from city life. It’s located in an ideal and quiet part of the island. We walked to a coffee shop both mornings and enjoyed the serenity of the water views. Thank you, Thomas and Heather!

What a cute cottage! Thomas welcomed me with a bottle of wine and warmed the place before my arrival as, it was quite cold on the island during my stay. The cottage is just a short drive to all the wonderful shops and food available in Bainbridge! Just a short stroll from the cottage is a beautiful beach with views of Seattle skyline. I will stay here again.

This is a wonderful, cozy, charming place in a fantastic location. The cottage is full of original and historic detailing and transports you to a simpler time. The views are incredible. We intend to stay here every time we visit Bainbridge! Also, I travel often and stay in many vacation rentals, and this is one of the cleanest. Every nook and cranny and even under the bed was clean, a detail I appreciate very much.

Charming, sweet, clean cozy cottage. Wonderful host who is very accommodating and responds quickly to messages. Beautiful location for walks, views of the sound, Seattle…. A distant view Mount Rainier can be seen from the cottage. Easy drive to town, restaurants. Excellent experience for those who love a cozy cottage life.

Second time staying here. Won’t be the last. Thomas and Heather are wonderful hosts who clearly want their guests to have the best possible experience. If you’re looking for slick and modern with every amenity, this isn’t your place. But if you want simple old world charm and clean coziness, a tranquil and lovely neighborhood, proximity to the water and views, and everything you really need to have a peaceful stay that feels far away from the city and yet a short drive to Winslow restaurants and shopping — and attended to with real care by your hosts, I highly recommend.

Cottage was cute but needs a few amenities, like tissues, shelving without Knick knacks and a real couch as pictured in the listing. The futon couch, while handy for extra sleepers, is very uncomfortable to sit on and was hard on my back. The host is very helpful and ready to help, bringing in a portable AC unit for a hot day.

Check in process was smooth and easy, host responsive to inquiries and questions within a short amount of time. The cottage is a cute place and also has some improvements that could be made to make it more comfortable (i.e., more windows that are able to be opened, more comfortable outside furniture to use to enjoy the beautiful view).Kitchen and bathroom are very small but were very clean and adequately stocked with basic supplies.

Lovely old cottage that was perfect for me and my sister in the sunshine of May. Quiet neighborhood, even with nearby home construction. Host was very responsive and helpful in sharing transportation tips. Before a winter stay, the old place does need a bit of tlc, including a window latch and propane stove repair. We would definitely return if back in Bainbridge!

This cottage is quaint and has plenty of character with stunning views throughout a walkable neighborhood, but it is totally ill equipped for a 21st century traveler. There isn't anyplace to store your luggage and the furniture is uncomfortable so there isn't any where to get the body settled in. A window in the bedroom that doesn't close completely coupled with a gap around 3 sides of the front door and keyhole made for an unwelcoming temperature inside. The only source of heat is a free-standing gas fireplace that seemed to work properly only sporadically, but I have no experience with this type of thing. The two space heaters were no match to the draft in March when the fireplace blower fan stopped functioning. Don't expect comfort here, especially with more than one adult.

We were very pleased with this lovely cottage. Spotlessly clean and very well appointed for a small space. We appreciated the good bottle of wine upon arrival and the information book with facts about the cottage and surrounding sites. Very walkable neighborhood adjacent to the Puget Sound shore with great views of Seattle, Mt. Rainier, sunrises and sunsets. We are used to sleeping in a smaller bed, so size wasn't an issue. But the mattress was not firm enough for us and it did interfere with a good night's sleep. Nevertheless, we recommend this property and its location.

This was the perfect home base for our mini vacay. We easily traveled into Seattle and back on the ferry one day. We drove to Port Angeles and took the ferry to Victoria another day. The drive up and back was beautiful and not too long. We also spent time in Poulsbo and on Bainbridge exploring. This sweet cottage was a lovely place to come back to each day. The beach is just a short walk down the hill. The deck offered a cool place to relax and enjoy being in an awesome, calming place. We would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for an escape from the daily grind.
