Bainbridge Island, Washington
Welcome to Bainbridge Island! We are happy to share our cozy little island cottage with visitors looking for a change of scenery or a longer vacation. Just a beautiful 35 minute ferry ride from downtown Seattle and a short 3 mile drive or cab ride from the Bainbridge Ferry terminal, leave your mainland worries behind and come stay in this quaint, well-cared-for 1930s farmer's cottage next door to our home. The views of Mount Rainier and Puget Sound from all the rooms in the house are soothing and spectacular. The bed is a double (full) bed (this is smaller than a queen) due to room size restrictions. There is also a full (double) sofa bed.
Enjoy fresh-brewed Pacific Northwest coffee every morning as you watch the eagles soar over the cove, then go for a walk along Manitou Beach, just a 2 minute stroll down the hill. Head to island favorite Bay Hay & Feed for morning coffee, pastries and conversation, just 1/2 mile away, and while you’re there check out their amazing plants, garden supplies, and general store.
Well-behaved dog guests are welcome for a $50 fee per visit. Please note that the yard is NOT fenced, so bring a lead if your dog needs one.
The Northwest is meant to be moist, so if it's raining you can hole up in the cottage with board games or a movie, but if you're adventurous (or you come in the summer, and it's gorgeous) grab a complimentary umbrella and head out to explore all the island has to offer. The Bloedel Reserve or Bainbridge Gardens will delight with their botanical wonders. Sample some of our seven island wineries or spend the day checking out the art galleries and shops along Winslow Way.
In the evening, enjoy dinner in Winslow or nearby Lynwood Center, pick up some amazing Italian take-out from nearby Via Rosa (1/2 mile from the cottage), or make a meal in our cozy but well-stocked kitchen. At night meet up with friends at one of the island pubs, enjoy a movie at one of the two island cinemas, or hit the blackjack table or dance floor at nearby Suquamish Clearwater Casino, just across the Agate Pass Bridge connecting the island to the Kitsap Peninsula.
Speaking of the Peninsula, use Bainbridge as your home base while you explore surrounding Northwest favorites like Poulsbo (aka Little Norway on the Fjord), Port Gamble with its 1850s logging town activities, Port Townsend with its historic Victorian charm and the amazing Olympic National Forest.
Small,cottage needs upkeep done.
This cottage was so sweet and adorable! Loved it! Had everything we needed and then some. Stocked with great movies, lots of books and also games. Really appreciated the bottle of wine, too! Would definitely stay here again.
Great view from the waterside deck showing Mt Rainier and Puget sound. Cute and cozy best describes this well located cottage
good but we just slept there and need New beds
It was restful and amazing to wake up and see the water. It is a very quaint place that is something out of a movie.
I loved my two night stay at the cottage. The location on Bainbridge Island was perfect-a short drive to the ferry and close to a darling beach. I had everything I needed at the cottage; a quiet, cute and relaxing environment to restore my energy after a busy school year. I’ll definitely be back!
It was just enough room for my wife and I. We have a blast walking down to the beach and taking a ferry over to Seattle. Awesome place. Will come here again soon! Thanks, Andrea for the lovely visit!
This older cottage was very clean and had a good view of the bay and part of the downtown Seattle waterfront. It was appointed with all we needed, and It fit our needs for a short stay. Thank You Andrea!
Wonderful place to relax and enjoy.
This cottage was absolutely charming and had everything I needed. The location was very nice & the partial view of the water was great. I enjoyed the decor and lots of little touches to make it feel homey. The bed was very comfortable too. Small shower worked for me, I'm 5'3, but a larger person might find it a tight fit. The bathroom was good overall though. I appreciated the help to clarify the WiFi ( it differs from the print out on website ) and clear, easy directions on cleaning expectations- very minimal, thanks. I plan to return in the summer! I posted pics on social media and got rave reviews- maybe even some envy....
All as advertised, with a very hospitable host who is easy to communicate with and has done a very thoughtful job of making a cottage from the 1930’s (?) attractive, comfortable, and well stocked. I look forward to returning.
The cottage was cozy and had everything we needed. The amenities such a bottle of wine and two glasses on the table were special. The location is perfect for visiting everything on the island.
Perfect location. Comfortable bed. Gas fireplace heated place up very quickly.
Amazing views if the skies are clear. The nearby beach is a good stroll. We used the cottage as a home base while exploring the island and beyond. The propane fireplace kept us cozy and warm and the bed has a lovely down linen down filled duvet and feather pillows Kitchen is for simple cooking or keeping take away warm. Neighborhood Italian place was great for take away with a market attached for wine and beer.
This space has vintage, no-frills, beach cabin vibes. The basics are all covered, and it is a quick walk down to Manitou Beach, which is a great spot to beachcomb and has a lovely view of the Seattle skyline. Communication with the host was quick, and check-in was easy.
I had the most wonderful stay in this sweet house. It was just me for a quiet weekend and it could not have been better. Super clean, had everything I needed in the kitchen, quiet, lovely, perfect. And the view! Even better than advertised. Clear gorgeous view of Mt Rainier from the porch. Quick walk down to a beachfront overlook. Communication with owner was clear and easy. Owner's house is right next door but cottage still felt very private. Quick 9 minute drive into town. I would love to stay here again. 10 out of 10!
We only stayed a couple of nights. It was Smokey so we didn’t get to enjoy the view as expected but the space was as pictured. Clean but older. I’d definitely stay again.
Very enjoyable property with outstanding views of Mt Rainier and Puget Sound. Neighborhood is convenient to the beach and quaint Rolling Bay. Hosts are friendly and helpful.
Loved my stay at the cottage. Great walking roads, close to Manitou Beach and very peaceful.
This was a great visit. We received detailed check in information a couple of days before our visit which made the check in process very easy. The place was well maintained and exactly as described. The fridge was also stocked with water, beer, and some snacks which was a nice touch. The location is amazing as it is a quick walk down to the water and is also nearby to some small shops. We were able to walk to carly's up the street for some coffee and pastries. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and would definitely recommend for anyone visiting Bainbridge.
A cosy property in a lovely location with great views. We had a friendly greeting from Thomas when we arrived who also provided us with fresh eggs from their chickens. It's been a cool Spring in Washington and the gas fire soon heated the cottage to make us snug on wet afternoons and evenings. Our overall view of our stay was tainted by two issues. Firstly the lack of cleanliness with crockery, cutlery and glasses and, secondly, the oven had a metal earthing/bonding wire hanging loose inside which made the oven unusable in our opinion. Despite raising this latter point with the owner, we didn't receive a response or resolution.
