Llwyn Ffynnon Cottage is a stunning 19th century cottage, packed with original features – inglenook fireplace with log burner, beamed ceilings, and with all the modern facilities you could ever want. Drive into the property, over the bridge and into the wooded dell with ancient cascading streams. There is ample flat car parking in front of you. Walk down to the cottage, sit out on the terrace and be amazed at the views over the beaches and harbours of Nefyn and Porth Dinllaen –look out for the Ty Coch pub on the beach, and sometimes if you have the luck of the Irish, the Wicklow Hills – you won’t believe how close they appear. Walk down the footpath from the cottage along the side of the stream down to the beach – no more than 15 minutes, and then you are on the miles of golden beaches, all edged by the Rival Mountains. Walk directly out of the driveway onto the Coastal Path – the Pilgrims Way. North towards the Rivals, and you could be in Switzerland, or South towards Bardsey, and the Island of Saints.
There are three Blue Flag beaches on the Llyn; Aberdaron, Abersoch and Pwllehli. Not to mention beautiful Nefyn beach and the bay of Porthdinllaen.
If you are bringing your four legged friend, Nefyn beach is mostly dog friendly and we have 7 acres of fields for running around in. We keep the grounds around the cottage as natural as possible and are rewarded with wonderful wildlife….. foxes, badgers, buzzards…… and an abundance of wild flowers.
All the rooms in the cottage have a sea view. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms, the shower room is on the ground floor. Please note that apart from the stairs there are also a couple of internal steps on the ground floor.
As we are on the side of the mountain the area outside the cottage, apart from the immediate garden and parking area, is not flat and there are a number of steps to access the front and back doors. It may not be suitable for the infirm, although we have had a 91 year old staying who had no problems at all and our own octogenarian parents manage perfectly well!
Two well behaved dogs are very welcome as we have two of our own and our fields are well fenced, although we cannot guarantee that they are fully dog proof and you should be aware that there is livestock in the surrounding fields.
The mountain lane to the cottage is single track and is only accessible to cars and 4x4's. There are only five other cottages at the top of the lane so traffic is very light!
We have a number of outdoor games; Jenga, badminton, Boules and there is equipment for the beach, like buckets and spades, windbreaks and bbq bucket.
During your stay you may meet Terry, who looks after the grounds for us. It's not always possible to cut the grass and strim during change over days but he's very nice and friendly, and wouldn't say no to a cup of coffee!
Please be aware that there is a public footpath from the lane at the top, past the cottage and down the field, although it's not signposted and is therefore rarely used, except by locals.
This is not just a holiday let, it is our home from home, we spend as much time here as we can and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Really clean on arrival with a nice welcome pack of local staples. Well equipped with modern facilities, and everything you could possibly need in the kitchen! Amazing views from the terrace over Nefyn bay. Plenty of space for a family and dog, and lots of wet weather activities (although we didn’t need them!). The area has loads of things to do within an hour’s drive.

Absolutely stunning cottage, very clean and well equipped. The views from every window in the cottage are amazing. Glorious mornings having breakfast on the patio and drinks at night watching the sunset. We even managed to spot dolphins playing in the sea in the morning and then had two fighter jets fly over the garden! Nefyn beach is a 20 minute walk and a wide range of walks into the hills start at the top of the drive way. The drive way is a steep incline that does get your heart racing but it wouldn't put me off, it walked our tea's off from Bombay Joe's curry house [ nefyn centre] and from the cliffs restaurant in morfa nefyn. Definitely would stay here again a week wasn't long enough

Absolutely beautiful property. Everything you'd need for all weathers! The property was quiet, spotlessly clean and located on great walking routes. it's only a 15 minute walk downhill on footpaths to the really well stocked shop. The birdsong was a beautiful start to the day and the sunsets on the terrace were stunning.

We had such a great time at Llwyn Ffynnon! The setting is beautiful and secluded with wonderful views of the sea, and gorgeous sunsets from the terrace and bedrooms! The cottage is charming and comfy, and has everything you'd need for a relaxing break. We travelled as a family of 4 plus our dog and my father in law and there was plenty of space for us to spend time together without feeling we were in each others' pockets, thanks to the bedroom set up and layout of the house - there are plenty of places to sit and relax both in and outside. The kids loved the garden and waterfall and the DVD and game collection (we had a lazy rainy day!) and our dog Herbie loved the fields! The Spar in the village is perfect for stocking up - and the essential trips to the milkshake machine for the kids! So much to do nearby - the local beach at Nefyn is lovely and child/dog friendly, plus the walk along the coast to the Ty Coch from Morfa Nefyn is a must! Slightly further afield - Beaumaris on Angelsey for a boat trip to Puffin Island, Caernafon and Glynllifon - all lovely. Yes, the lane to the cottage is a little narrow/steep, but that is fairly standard in more rural areas and we had no trouble with our MPV. We had a few, very minor issues on check in and with a fuse - both dealt with very promptly by the hosts. Thank you Chris and Jen - we hope to return one day!

A wonderful place for to sit and rest or taking activities in the surroundings. A beautiful garden with hidden places and visited by birds, rabbits and squirrels each morning. No matter the weather, you will always find the beauty in it. Only issue: the stay was too short.

A fantastic house in a fantastic area. We loved it. Beautiful views and sunsets over the water. Everything we could need in the house and more! Binoculars, puzzles, books, maps, beach toys etc. A short walk to the beach, where toilets and a great cafe/shop are available at the far end. Useful Spar and a Premier in Nefyn and a good pizza takeaway. The whole Llýn Peninsular is beautiful and worth exploring. Would definitely return.

What an amazing place perched upon a hill and a view to behold. The lane up to the cottage is a one car lane but we were in a a SUV and had no problems whatsoever and we never met another vehicle coming or going. Beautiful house with many different rooms, mind your head in a few places if you're over six foot as i am but again,no problems. We had a great time and weather was fairly kind which in turn gave us some amazing sunsets across the sea. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever.
