Stayed Jul 25, 2025We traveled by car, four persons. We called the place magical. As all magical places, you wont get it for free. To arrive physical you might need a smaler but powerful car, and driving routines. The path up to the property (not asphalted, slippery when wet) is both quite steep, curvy and narrow. We had to park our something larger middle-class car at the church (always a free spot) and walk up the last few hundreds meters. We got some training by walking, and help from the kind farmers who helped us with our luggage. The old farmhouse is upgraded to a modern living-estate with good WLAN (the pictures are understate!), two terraces, one covered, and a a hidden garden piece with furniture. The view from the terraces is - again magical - overviewing the see and the mountains. Its an old, charming and healthy house and you might be prepared for some insects. The farmers are working nearby, you will have close contact with them and their dogs. They helped us patiently here and there; I felt save to have them around. While I was mainly relaxing at the terrace, playing a little bit on the well-kept piano, reading in the large library of the house, my family was examining the mountains and the see (still walking distance, we used a shortcut!). Lenno is a sweet village with nice markets and a few restaurants at the seaside. Busses are going frequently. There is nothing you can't do. We had a nice contact and good communication to the owners. Thank you!

Stayed Aug 7, 2023Pleasant stay at Roveglio Cottage, with an amazing view. However, several inconveniences: - neighbor dogs (not on leash, barking even early in the morming, one of them come bark on us each time we went back to the cotage) -beds are not comfortable -lack of dishes: chipped glasses, deteriorated pan, lack of table cutlery...

Stayed Oct 31, 2022A bit steep to get there, but the location is beautiful, and the house is spacious and very simpel but beautifully arranged. As a family you feel welcome by the space and the farming neighbors. It feels real home!

Stayed Sep 26, 2020The view is amazing. There are two balconies and a garden so even in the end of september there is a place to enjoy the sunshine and the view. There is also a lot of soace inside the house. A well equiped kitchen and a good bed to sleep. Antonella is very friendly even we don't speak the same language. In the area there are nice hikes and place to go to. We did have a very nice week!

Stayed Sep 30, 2019This comfortable home was perfect for our purposes and would work very well for two couples traveling together. The owner’s dicription of the road up to the house is accurate - it is not for the faint of heart. We tried it the first time but after that we chose to leave the car further down the hill and walk up to the house. Angelina was extremely helpful and checked on us every now and then. As he was driving, by her father gave us a lift up to the house a few times ( much appreciated as we had bags of groceries). We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and enjoying drinks and dinner on the porch with that spectacular view. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms very nice and the whole house clean and welcoming. There are steps from the entrance level (where one bedroom and bathroom is) to the main floor where all the other rooms are. The washer and dryer are in a separate room outside the kitchen door, but the room is well lit and the washer works well. The Greenway is an 11km hike along the lake which we would definitely recommend. We would certainly stay here again(but I would make sure our car had a stronger engine for that final hill ). This would not be a good place for someone with mobility issues. We are in our mid seventies, in good health and also like to hike, so it worked for us and we enjoyed the house very much.

Stayed Oct 5, 2019The property was absolutely amazing. The pictures hardly do it justice. The drive up the hill was not difficult and we very quickly got used to it... the photos the owners supplied were perfect to lead us to the correct place. Once we got there we could not believe how beautiful it was... both from the deck and its view out toward the lake... as well as a perfectly cozy house that was more than ample for two of us....we didn't even use the lovely bedroom and full bath downstairs. The kitchen was very well equipped and the caretaker Antonella was phenomenally helpful showing us around, putting on the heat when it turned chilly and providing us with fresh eggs and milk from the farm when we ask to buy them. The furnishings were just fine and the bed, which we used in the upstairs bedroom, was very comfortable indeed. But the views out to the lake were astounding and we simply could not take enough pictures to capture what a lovely place this is. We would highly recommend it. In addition the location was perfect a short drive above the town of Lenno, where the ferry to all the major towns like Bellagio stops, and there is a lovely Villa and Gardens to see right near the town. The owners kindly leave a file folder stuffed with brochures describing nearby sights. We only wished we had time in our travel schedule to have stayed longer than the 12 days we stayed. Thanks to Antonella and the owners.

Stayed Jul 14, 2018As a family of 4 (with 2 young children aged 3 and 5) our stay at Roveglio cottage was just perfect. The place is very peaceful with a beautiful terrace that has amazing views of Lenno and the Lake (perfect for a glass of wine when the kids were in bed!). The farm was great for the children Antonella and her father showed the children the chickens, rabbits and cows, they were thrilled with this and especially fox (who is a dog!)! They are incredibly quiet for farmers and we barely heard them! The cottage is roomy, light and very clean. I don't think the pictures do it justice. Perfect for a family as it has a lovely big living space (a nice big kitchen, diner, lounge). The children's bedroom was on the first floor, not ground floor as there are steps up to the Villa. This was not a problem at all as there is only a small flight of stairs up to the main living accommodation and master bedroom. We could hear the children from our room but also took a monitor which worked perfectly well for when we were on the terrace. The drive up is at first akin to a roller-coaster, but you do get used to it! The walk down and back up was too much for us, it took us 20 mins down and 45 back up, this was carrying a 3 year old in 30c degree heat!) but we had no problem parking in Lenno at the Lido or supermarket for the day. Lenno was lovely, surprisingly quiet, with a nice number of restaurants, access to the lake and beach to swim, both our children did this safely with armbands and loved it! The road train was fun day out to Mennaggio and the passenger ferry at Lenno a ferry ride to Bellagio, amongst other places. We got a water taxi (10 mins) to the beautiful Villa del Balbianello (National Trust members get a discount) . Again we all thoroughly enjoyed this. The kids found it very exciting. All in all we had a perfect holiday Jeannie and there was nothing you could do to improve such a beautiful place. Thank you for sharing it.
