Overall the stay was nice, however there were a few things that my wife and I wish were different or were more clearly stated. For one, we were under the impression that the cottage had its own laundry facilities and packed our suitcases as such, and we were disappointed to find that wasn’t the case. The owner, however, was very kind and offered a rebate as there was a mistake on the Vrbo listing. We also wished the walk to town was closer than what was advertised in the listing. The cottage shares an address with the renter so sometimes taxis and food delivery services would get confused about which place to deliver to. The cottage was very cozy and well kept, but the rug upstairs on the window had a strange smell to it.To sum it up, our stay at the Acorn Cottage was nice and it’s a cozy place, however there were just a few things that made the trip a little more difficult for us. The owners very responsive and accommodating whenever we had questions which was very appreciated. Needless to say my wife and I enjoyed our honeymoon here despite the small inconveniences and would recommend this Vrbo.

Beautiful cottage minutes from downtown Bar Harbor. Walking to downtown Bar Harbor is about 15 minutes. 10 minute drive to Arcadia National Park. We rented bikes for a day and rode the carriage trails and went back to the cottage and downtown easily. The cottage was very clean with all the amenities that made our vacation stress free and relaxing. We hope to go again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Acorn Cottage! The space was cozy, clean, and incredibly comfortable — just what we were hoping for. One of our favorite moments was enjoying morning coffee while taking in the peaceful view through the large windows — absolutely perfect. We also loved the location. It felt private and quiet, yet was just a short drive or walk to the village, which gave us the best of both worlds. That was a big plus for us.The only thing we found a bit limiting was the outdoor space. While the deck was lovely, it was the only outdoor area available. As people who enjoy spending a lot of time outside, we had hoped for a bit more room to spread out. That said, if the deck meets your needs, the setting is otherwise ideal. One small note: the listing mentioned laundry as an amenity, but there isn’t a washer/dryer on-site. When I asked, the host directed us to a laundromat in town. Not a major issue, but worth noting for future guests.Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely recommend Acorn Cottage to anyone looking for a quiet, comfortable stay near the Bar Harbor village!

An easy walk, but clear of the nightly bustle. Amenities included a full kitchen and barbecue. Probably best for young couples.

I fell in love with this property as soon as it popped up. We were so excited to see it was EXACTLY as presented on VRBO. Everything listed was available and in working order. Location: SUPERB! Though it sits just outside of the Bar Harbor Village, off of the highway it’s still quiet and relaxing. Several times we walked to and from the village. It’s also very close to the loop road for Acadia National Park. Property: Surrounded by trees, nestled near a broom and little walking path, gave that feeling of being in the woods without actually being remote. The home was CLEAN and inviting! We like to cook some when we’re on vacation and the kitchen, while not fully stocked, had the basics we needed; can opener, bottle openers, scissors, sharp knives, serving and eating utensils, nice dishes, a fabulous coffee maker (drip & K-cup combo), a French press, tea kettle, a good selection of pots and pans… We felt so cozy. The window seat is perfect and there’s a great selection of books and puzzles. TV with access to Ruko, Netflix & Prime. The bed and pillows were comfy, too! We felt like the hosts thought of every detail for travelers. While the hosts do live on the property, other than a brief, friendly introduction and conversation, we saw & heard little of them. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend the property to others!

Walking distance to village in quiet neighborhood. The cottage is right in the dooryard of a house but all of the windows face woods and a stream so it feels private. Kitchen had everything we needed. Gas grill didn’t heat up enough to cook.
