We walked in to a warm and cosy, clean, beautifully presented cottage with everything provided that you might need for a short break. The Christmas tree was a lovely touch. Great location, quiet and just a short (slightly uphill) walk into Winchcombe. The only issue was parking. Although there is a large car park, it was full in the evenings. Perhaps marked bays would encourage more considerate parking?

We enjoyed staying in this comfortable cottage while walking some of the Cotswold Way. Everything worked well and the location was particularly good for easy access to pubs and restaurants.

Lovely castle cottage in Sudeley grounds. Convenient to both the Castle and Winchcombe. Comfortable and homey.

Stayed in Sudeley castle cottages a few times. Nice cosy cottages in a great location. The only negative comment would be that the outside patio and seating areas are not looked after and are full of weeds. A bit of a let down as the cottages are nice and clean inside.

We enjoyed our stay in this very well maintained cottage. Everything was comfortable. Easy parking, well equipped kitchen, nice big bedrooms with good sized bathrooms plus situated in the perfect location. Walks straight from the doorstep. Free admission to Sudely castle. Unfortunately no dogs allowed.

Good location with a short stroll into the quaint Cotswold village of Winchcombe. Free entry into Sudeley Castle as part of booking was an added bonus. Well equipped clean and comfortable property with good parking.

Comfortable accommodation in the grounds of Sudely castle short walking distance from pubs etc. Staying here gives free access to the castle which was a bonus. Would definitely stay here again.

The Lord High Admiral is ok for 4 persons. It’s a nice building in a lovely little street. It’s almost perfect. I missed a toilet on the ground floor. And in my opinion the tefal frying pan should be replaced: it’s damaged. We had a nice time.

Looks shabby, stained sofa. Both showers leak all over the floor. Skirting boards loose and warped. House infestated with ants. Duvets and pillows should be replaced. Many ceiling bulbs need replacing. Lots of information about the castle but nothing about the easy short walking route to the castle entrance! I'm sure this was lovely when it was newly refurbished but is now tired and shabby.

A perfect place to stay with friends. The property is in a very quiet location so a good night’s sleep was had by all. Very comfortable and well equipped.

Probably because of the age of the building there are a couple of damp patches which need attention.

Incredibly adorable cottage with great amenities, a perfect location to walk into Winchcombe to a variety of pubs and restaurants, and tons of parking. Access to Sudeley Castle being included was a great bonus and we will definitely be returning!

We stayed at the Lord High Admiral for three nights (arrive Thursday depart Sunday) as we were attending a wedding at Sudeley Castle. The cottage was great, close to Winchcome and its shops and bars (10 minutes walk to the Lion Inn, 5 minutes to the White Hart), and to the Castle itself, which was around 5 minutes drive up the road. It is possible to walk to and from the Castle, but we drove each time. The cottage was immaculate, the staff at Bolthole Retreats super friendly and efficient. All in all a wonderful weekend was complemented by a brilliant place to stay.

We enjoyed it very much to own this cozy cottage for a week, we really felt at home. The equipment and cleanliness were first class, the welcome kit and the presents were very kind and highly appreciated. I want to mention either the friendliness of the staff and the good contacts with Bolthole Retreats. Thank you!! Winchcombe is a beautiful little town, the cottage is only a few steps away from the High Street, the surrounding Cotswolds landscape can be discovered on good walking ways. There are nice little shops, two supermarkets and several pubs and cafes nearby. I recommend the Cottage and Winchcombe very much.

We were 2 couples staying for 3 nights and the cottage was perfectly placed for walk into the centre and the shops. Close to Cheltenham and other Cotswold villages for visits. Sudely Castle close by but not open in November so will come back again when it is. Staff in the grounds were vey friendly. Beds were comfortable and plenty of towels supplied.

Wonderful little cluster of cottages superbly located for walks, the village and the castle. Perfect for me and my mum. The cottage had everything we needed and lovely welcome pack. Great, friendly service when I couldn't work out how to open the door! Definately will be back. Thankyou.

We had a brilliant stay in Lord High Admiral. We were four adults who fit comfortably in the two large bedrooms and well appointed bathrooms. The downstairs living area was more than adequate and the kitchen was well equipped with appropriate “starter pack”. The proximity to Winchcombe and the castle was fabulous. We loved it!

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Lord High Admiral cottage at Sudeley Castle. The cottage was clean and comfortable and conveniently located close to town so we were able to walk to pick up groceries and go out to dinner at the quaint pubs. Also a short walk through a field with sheep to get to the Castle which was amazing! I wish we could have stayed longer in this beautiful and historic area of England!
