The drive to and from the cottage is absolutely gorgeous. Driving through narrow country roads with miles of stone walls covered in wild flowers, grass, and moss is an experience all in itself. The cottage was immaculately maintained, spacious, and stocked with activities for the whole family, teens included. Picturesque views from every window and walls decorated by art from local artists and the collection of books by Irish authors to enjoy during our stay added to the experience. Reading Claire Keegan while overlooking the pastures and coast line was bliss, especially when accompanied by the homemade shortbread cookies complements of our hosts, Deidre and John. Did we mention the complementary fresh soda bread, milk, and sample of the local Five Farms Irish Cream Liqueur? Delicious. We were even able to pick up a bottle at the airport on our way home. Another highlight of our stay at the cottage and in Ireland were the cows feeding in the pastures just outside the cottage. Loved the cows. Our walk to the cliffs with John and Deidreʻs dogs added to the experience. The surrounding communities were friendly and generous with their patience as we navigated the roads, numerous grocery stores, and local attractions. There are a lot of local shopping and activities within short driving distance of the cottage. Our only regret is not staying longer. Thank you for the amazing experience!

Ocean's End was immaculately clean on arrival and completely equipped for a family's needs. The gifts on a arrival were a great touch, and the house felt very homely whilst still being very smart and luxurious. Excellent location, suoer relaxing and tranquil, but easy to get to attractions from too.

This property was magnificent. Check in was easy, the property owner had great communication leading up to our stay as well as during our stay. Many local recommendations as we were here over the St Patrick’s holiday. We were welcome with fresh milk, eggs, bread, jam, and some liqueur where their cream is used to make. The home was stunning, spotless and so cozy. View from the home are even more beautiful in person than in the photos online. This was by far our best stay and close to many local villages and a nice drive to Kinsale and Cobh. I cannot put into words how incredible our stay here was. We will be back when we come to Ireland.

We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage. From the moment we arrived, everything was absolutely perfect. The cottage was in immaculate condition – spotless, beautifully presented, and clearly cared for to the highest standard. It was incredibly comfortable, with every little detail thoughtfully considered. The amenities truly went above and beyond; everything we could possibly need was provided, and more. It felt like a home away from home, with those extra special touches that made our stay even more relaxing and enjoyable. The location was fantastic – peaceful and picturesque, yet perfectly situated for exploring the surrounding area.A special thank you to the wonderful hosts, Deirdre and John, who were so friendly and helpful both before and throughout our stay. The added bonus of getting to see the cows being milked and cuddling the calves was such a unique and memorable experience. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend this cottage.

Our stay was perfect. The pictures on the app along with the narrative were spot on. We enjoyed the view and quiet environment and watching the cows come in for milking and go back out. John was a good instructor for milking cows and was a lot of fun. I will recommend this spot to my friends or anyone else looking for this kind of stay.

This has been our favorite VrBo hands down! From the moment you walked in with the smells, then the kitchen with eggs from their farm, fresh baked cookies and bread with homemade jelly! Also had fresh milk from the cows that morning! The icing on the cake was having John the husband taking the time to show the boys how to milk the cows! Can’t wait to go back!

If we could give more than 5 stars we certainly would. Deirdre and Johns place is absolutely amazing. From every detail that Deirdre created in the house, including the fresh baked Irish soda bread with jam, the Irish cream and fresh milk from the farm and the wonderfully delicious cookies. Then John took out time to include us with his busy day, to explain how their farm actually works. They were both so very gracious and kind. If you are lucky enough to plan a trip to Ireland, do yourself a huge favor and book their cottage. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Thank you both so much,It was incredible!

The photos of this cottage are beautiful and when you arrive you will not be disappointed as the cottage truly is that beautiful and the scenery around the cottage is even better. On arrival the cottage just feels like a home you can relax in and is extremely clean. It had lots of comforts that two teenagers enjoyed such as hot-chocolate, marshmallows, comfy sofas and a window seat that was highly coveted to enjoy the ocean view.....of course teenagers would not be happy without good WiFi which the cottage thankfully had.The kitchen is truly well equipped should you wish to cook or simply make a coffee that accompanies the delicious homemade bread and cookies. The scenery is beautiful and within a few mins walk you are on a cliff looking onto the Atlantic Ocean. The cottage is set beside a working farm and John was able to take time out to demonstrate how to milk cows which was great fun.We made use of the available BBQ and fire to cook pizza in the evening and when the temperature dropped we could simply move into the Garden Room and enjoy the views through the window. There's a well stocked store in Barryroe that is about 10 mins away. For larger stores you would need to visit Clonakilty which has a number of options but definitely check out the Scally's SuperValue and note there is a carpark behind the store which we only discovered on the last day.

We have stayed at a lot of VRBOs all over the world and this was by far the best. From fresh milk from the cows and home baked brown bread to miles of fields to walk and ocean views to comfy beds and perfectly stocked kitchen, this place was so wonderful. Teddy the sheep (er cow) dog was an added bonus. Just in general I can’t say anything bad. It’s also really out in the country so you feel surrounded by quiet and peace.

Others have mentioned the thoughtful touches like fresh baked bread and milk from their farm, but I want to reiterate how lovely it is to arrive to a home, not a house, where every detail has been lovingly thought of. John and Dierdre have truly created a special place that made us not want to leave. We loved our long walks on the property with only cows, green fields and the ocean in sight. I have stayed in many homes around the world but this is my new favorite. Thank you!

Absolutely relaxing and remarkable. Our entire family loved this spot the most. Deirdre is a wonderful hostess who pays attention to every detail. Incredible location as well. Clonakilty was also our favorite destination, as far towns with shopping goes, and it was close by! We happily spent most of the time at the place though. We feel lucky that John showed us the process of milking the cows and their adorable dogs led the way on the gorgeous walking paths. Thank you Deirdre and John:)

This is a beautiful property out in the country surrounded by green hills, the ocean in the distance and many cows grazing in the fields. I find grazing cattle to add to the feing ofp1eace and contentment. The house itself is beautiful with lots of room for five people, (enough beds, two sitting rooms so two TV's, a well equiped kitchen, three bathrooms) plus a lo ely yard with outdoor seating. Would go back in a heartbeat.

We stayed four nights in early April, and our stay was just beautiful. The house is pristine and cozy with lots of room to hang out inside and in the back, which has a patio, fire pit, and a kind of viewing room overlooking the ocean. The kitchen is wonderfully appointed, and there are fun little surprises everywhere. The surroundings are heavenly, with a great group of cows near the house. We spent a day in Cork, a day in Skibbereen, and a day hiking the 7 Heads trail. Deirdre is a wonderful host, and I can't say enough good things about this listing.

We took walks to the nearby beach escorted by their dogs, we cooked and reconnected by the wood stoves, and we visited friendly towns nearby. This is an amazing property that I would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the West Cork region especially. As a first-time driver in Ireland, although different with narrow and winding roads, I was able to maneuver, albeit slowly, and find my way in and out and to other towns. The grounds with the cows and the ocean nearby were breathtaking, and the cow-milking experience was fun! Not to mention walking with the neighbor dogs accompanying us! Deidre and John are perfect hosts and even provided us with homemade bread, cookies and jam! Wonderful experience overall! I’m so glad we found it and would return and highly recommend!

Deirdre and John are the very best hosts and welcomed us with some fresh goods upon arrival and again during our stay. The combination of the ocean views, the countryside beauty, and the working dairy seamlessly surrounded the property. Daily walks are encouraged! There aren't words to express Deirdre and John's guest home, aptly titled Ocean's End, but I'll give it a try. I've stayed in many excellent vacation properties, but the experience here puts this one at the top. It is nestled in a stunning cliffside of West Cork, with wonderful towns to visit within 15, 30 or 60 minutes. My friend and I loved our visits to Kinsale, Courtmacsherry, Clonakilty and Cork. We were provided with fresh scones and treats upon our arrival, and John showed us around the working dairy farm. When the electricity went out for a few hours, Deirdre and John both kept us up to date and made sure we had water and fresh breakfast. Staying in this rental is something I'll be dreaming of for ages to come. It was a pleasure when the WiFi unexpectedly went out for a few days because we could simply bask in the glory of our surroundings. Watching the parade of cows to and from their pastures was great entertainment, as was watching the cattle dogs Teddy and Robin do their duties. Managing the typical winding roads of the area was well worth it to come back to this seaside oasis. Stay here for as long as you possibly can, and watch your cares disappear.
