I recently had the pleasure of spending time in this beautiful lakeside cottage in Finland. Nestled among graceful silver birch trees, the cottage offers a perfect balance of peace, comfort, and nature’s beauty. The lush green foliage and wildflowers surrounding the property create a feeling of seclusion, making it an ideal escape from the bustle of everyday life. The cottage itself is charming — a classic red wooden home with white trim, exuding warmth and character. The wraparound porch is adorned with colourful blooms, and from here you can enjoy a morning coffee while listening to the gentle rustle of the trees. Inside, everything is cosy and welcoming, with the added necessities of wifi, the modern television, and hot running water.Just a short walk away, a private dock extends out over the water, offering uninterrupted views of the serene lake. Sitting on the deck by the shore, an occasional boat may pass in the distance. The surrounding reeds and islands add to the sense of privacy and tranquillity. The gardens are equally delightful, with vibrant purple clematis, striking tiger lilies, and cheerful cornflowers in shades of blue and violet. These splashes of colour contrast beautifully with the deep greens of the surrounding trees which offer a beautiful peaceful retreat. This Finnish cottage is a true hidden gem — perfect for anyone seeking natural beauty, quiet moments, and the simple pleasures of lakeside living. I left feeling refreshed and inspired.

Very nice little house, ideal for two people in typical Scandinavian wooden look on the peninsula in a very quiet location right to the sea, with the best view of the sea, boat and bathing and the wood-fired sauna house next to it. Large wooden terrace and grill station in the apple tree grove with top gas grill. In addition, wood loungers on the well -groomed lawn, best view from the big footbridge to the sea, here with freshwater bath quality and seating with a view of the neighboring upstream islands. Kitchen, bathroom and bedroom on the quiet forest side. The furnishings are not off the shelf, but individually from landlord/ lady. The living room with two sofas in the middle and spacious with an old central oven and built -in wardrobes to store. Equipment: in addition to WLAN, VPN -capable TV, dishwasher, large fridge including ice compartments, microwave and 4 plates stove. Parking space on the property less than 10 m from the house. In just 45 minutes you are in the old town of Porvoo, in a good hour in Helsinki and approx. 90 minutes in winter sports resort Lathi, the gate to the Finnish lake plate. The two hosts Liz and Tom were very accommodating and friendly. You immediately felt welcome and they were always approachable and helpful during your stay. All in all, it was a very nice and relaxing vacation in Finland. Sundowners on the jetty, deer in the garden, a visit from Eddy the dog and much more.
