My husband and I planned to stay a week but we were rained out and decided to cut our stay short. The only reason we did is because we wanted to spend time outdoors on trails and kayaking. Unfortunately the weather had different plans. The cabin was as described and the pictures were accurate. There was a dehumidifier going that helped to get rid of any musty smells. The cabin was comfortable and Eric was very helpful when we communicated with him.
We had a very nice stay on Crooked River. Working with the property management company was a breeze; they were very communicative and responsive. The cabin itself was cozy and rustic befitting the local area. We enjoyed the fire pit, and the scenery while we were visiting family in the area. The only major downside has nothing to do with the property itself - but the road in is very rough. I don’t think a sedan could make it down the road as an FYI. If you have an AWD or 4WD vehicle, this is a nice place to stay however.
This place had everything needed. We could tell work had recently been done with new floors, stove, bathroom sink and toilet, all kitchen utensils/amenities. Our first impression walking in was very musty smell. It was the leather living room furniture. We wanted to open windows to air place out and windows were caked with dead bugs and cobwebs. We cleaned large front window but kept the rest closed. Bathroom shower, moldy and stained yellow. Not dirty, just so old that this was as clean as it could get. Just random because the shower head was new and everything else in bathroom great. Also, random cobwebs on ceilings and in doorways. With all this being said, its a camp, and can be part of the territory. If nothing else, new living room furniture needed. There was nothing to complain about, this was just our impression. We enjoyed the TV being able to log into our streaming services, having ACs was nice, fishing and kayaking off shore, and grilling. It was a quiet and private area. Working with Eric was great and he was always very helpful and quick to respond
Upon entering there was a strong odor of dog. The pink blanket’s on the bunk beds smelled of dirty dog/pee. I went to the store and bought air freshener and a candle. We used all of our own bedding thankfully. My son is allergic to dogs and I was unaware that this might be an issue. We spent a late night at the ER because he had an asthma attack due to the dog fur/odor in the house. I will probably be getting a huge hospital bill now. Without the dog odor and cleanliness issue everything else would have been perfect. Loved the location, the AC and it appeared clean although there was evidence of a dog being there. I recommend this place to dog owners and not people who are allergic. Lesson learned that we need to be at a “pet free” house!
Finding the cabin was not easy in the dark. The mattresses were not comfortable. However, the cabin was clean with new appliances. The overalll atmosphere was very pleasant. The main water system, both hot and cold, was good, but not drinkable. The road to the cabin is rought. Our stay was very pland I would recommend the house for vacation
