We had a wonderful stay and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The home was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed with everything we needed. The layout was perfect, the beds were comfortable, and the space felt welcoming from the moment we arrived.The location was ideal, making it easy to enjoy the area while still feeling peaceful and private. Communication with the host was excellent—clear, responsive, and helpful throughout the entire process. Check-in and check-out were seamless.This property truly exceeded our expectations, and we would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to others. A fantastic Vrbo experience all around!

This was our end of summer beach trip/my birthday trip and we all just needed to relax and swim in the ocean. This home was perfect for us. It is in the midst of some very cute surf shops, restaurants, ice cream shop that you just happen to walk through on your very short walk to the beach. The home is nice and clean with plenty of indoor and outdoor places to gather, and the bedrooms are nicely separated if you want a little space from kids. The owners were also lovely and checked in on us many times. We had a small maintenance issue that I felt so bad happened on our watch and the owner was so communicative and took care of it right away with a these things happen kind of attitude. I really appreciated the hosts so much! We would absolutely return to this home and La Jolla in the future!

Fantastic property and location.

We've been staying at Marilyn's cottage for years - it's our absolute favorite place in La Jolla. The cottage is immaculate and super close to shops/restaurants and La Jolla Shores beach. Marilyn is a gem and always responsive if little issues pop up during our stay. We look forward to returning year after year.

Lovely, comfortable home in perfect location! Fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and great outdoor space. Online photos are accurate. Super-responsive hosts. We loved it so much that mid-stay we rebooked for next year.

This cottage was amazing - beautifully renovated, lovely indoor-outdoor spaces, and in the most central and convenient location. My family and I loved it and would love to stay here again.

My family loves staying at Marilyn's place. It is clean, stocked with everything we need, a short walk to the beach and all of the stores and restaurants on Avenida de la Playa, and Marilyn is very responsive and kind. Staying there is a great way to unwind and enjoy the San Diego sun and lifestyle!

The property was ideal and steps away from restaurants and the beach. We really enjoyed lounging on the front and back patio, loved the set up and sliding patio doors throughout. Very well thought out, airy and clean. Owners were wonderful and very responsive.

I believe it is our fourth year coming back to this cottage. It is perfectly located - while only steps from the main drag of La Jolla Shores and a 5 minute walk to the beach, the street is quiet. The cottage and small patio and garden are beautifully maintained and very comfortable. The front gets sun all morning and the patio sun in the afternoon. Best of all are the lovely hosts who always make us feel welcome and are available to answer questions. We hope to be back again next year!

Marilyn's cottage is adorable, well laid out, sparkling clean, and super convenient to La Jolla Shores beach and local restaurants and shops. We have enjoyed coming back year after year!

A beautiful property with well appointed spaces and comfortable beds! La Jolla shores within steps with amazing restaurants and coffee shops! Marilyn is excellent with communication! Garage was wonderful to have as was a holiday weekend and beach was busy. Would definitely stay there again! Thank you

The home was clean and in a great location. Beds were very comfortable. Great place to stay.

This was our second time staying here. The cottage is clean, comfortable, quiet, and walking distance to restaurants and La Jolla Shores. Great communication. A small issue arose while staying there this time, as sometimes happens even in very well taken care of houses, and Marilyn and Greg were extraordinarily quick to respond and resolve. Only minor suggestion is that the feather bed topper doesn't quite fit the king bed, and might consider replacing or removing - but this is a very minor point and the bed was comfortable regardless. Would highly recommend!

Came for our usual visit from the Bay Area to see mom/grandma in San Diego. This spot was perfect for everyone, beach (with great gear: chairs, umbrella etc) for our oldest, lounging around watching TV for the younger, runs and hikes (Torrey Pines trail very close drive) for hubs and hilly walks for me (I made it to the top of LJ Village Drive this year!). La Jolla kayak is 2minutes away and the sea kayaking is fun for all ages. We stayed here in 2013 when the kids were little. But with 4 adults, it’s now too small for us. Recommend this place as ideal for family of 4 with small kids. Some items in the kitchen were not super clean, but washable. But overall we had a lovely, restful vacation.

My family and I had a wonderful stay thanks in large part to this amazing cottage home. Clean, comfortable and centrally located. Great host as well. Highly recommend.
