Ralph was an amazing host with excellent timely communication. The cottage is located very close to down town Praia das Macas easy walking distance to the beach, shopping and food. There is an incredible fish market close by that will be the highlight of your trip! Everyone in town is so friendly and your stay is far from the busy Lisbon district. Overall one of the best travel experiences of our lives! We will definitely return!

It is a charming house with everything you need for a perfect holiday. We were friendly welcomed and provided with great information about the area. The sea is nearby with pittoresk beaches and possibilities for great walks. Sintra and Lisboa have lots to offer for everyone. The owner reacted friendly and prompt on our questions. We had a great time!

We chose this cottage because of the location and it was good for us. We don’t like crowds and love the coast. Sintra and Lisbon were easy Uber drives away and we got to experience staying in a picturesque cliffside village. The cottage garden was beautiful and inside had everything we needed. Our Host was great and very accessible. We had a lovely stay.

The house offered all you need for a stay in walking distance to the beach. We enjoyed the proximity to the beach, to the small city and bars, but also the short driving distance to many locations in the area.

We spent our holidays in Sept. 2024 in Ralph's very beautiful cottage. The cottage is perfectly equipped - nothing is missing. Especially we enjoyed the large courtyard, which is beautifully designed with lots of plants, sunbeds, a brick grill and a seating area with a table and chairs. Ralph is a great host, very friendly and reliable. When we arrived, he gave us lots of great and useful tips about the place and the surrounding area. The house is nicely located in a quiet residential area, where there is also a mini market with everything you need. In the evenings you can relax in the garden with a barbecue or visit one of the several nice restaurants, which serve delicious local food. We had a great stay here and a fantastic holiday. Ralph made the whole process very smooth and gave great recommendations for the local area. The villa was perfect for us- clean, well equipped and close to beaches, shops and restaurants. We loved it and hope to return!

We couldn't have been happier with our stay. Ralph made us feel very welcome and was extremely helpful with recommendations on where to go and eat etc. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed, and was in a great location, minutes from the beach and local amenities, including supermarkets, bars and restaurants. Praia das Maçãs is a very chilled and relaxing place to stay and we met some lovely people. We stayed 12 nights and loved it. Thank you Ralph, we hope to be back! :-)

This is one of a small group of cottages that were built years ago by the host's in-law family as vacation rentals. The cottages and the lovely garden areas have been impeccably maintained. You can hear the ocean from the courtyard where we spent many happy hours drinking local wine and snacking on local treats. It is a short walk down to the village center where there is an array of restaurants, shops, bakeries and markets. There is a beautiful farmers and fish market well worth visiting. The Sintra trolley ends its route here and busses run frequently. Ralph, the host, is on top of things. He answered my correspondence very promptly. One morning there was no hot water - we called and within 10 minutes he was there to change the gas tank which instantly fixed the problem. He has a wealth of knowledge not only about where to go and what to do, but also about the local culture, and shares as much as you want to know. Best advice - take an Uber to travel to/from Lisbon. We were a group of 4 and were quite comfortable here. Although it is convenient to Sintra, it is by far less hectic. This is truly a wonderful place to relax and experience Portugal.

We came to Sintra with our two boys for one week, our stay was wonderfull. We received a warm welcome and everything was perfect including the weather. We enjoyed the surroundings and the coast, swimming in the waves, hicking, the restaurants, etc…We recommend the cottage of Ralph and thank him again. Élodie and Philippe
