3 Mi to Lake Michigan: ‘The Country Cottage’

This is our sixth time booking this property in two years! We’ve always loved the area and used to visit once a year, but since finding this cottage, we’ve been coming up three times a year. The 10-acre private lot is perfect — peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by nature. Our pets love exploring the trail, and it’s become our favorite getaway spot. The cottage is always spotless and has everything we need. The hosts are absolutely wonderful!

We had a fantastic stay at this cozy cottage in Central Lake! The home was spotless and so thoughtfully prepared—everything was clearly labeled, which made settling in a breeze. The charming fall décor added such a warm, inviting touch for our stay in October. It’s obvious that great care goes into maintaining this property. The property has a nice walking trail with great views. Loved reading about the history of the property too! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would love to return!

Perfect location to visit multiple areas ! The cottage was clean, comfortable , all the extras you would need ! Neat pathway to walk the property and dogs allowed ! Perfect for a quiet spot with family !

This is our second time here and it is a slice of heaven. A beautiful piece of property. We spent each of our evenings in the back yard at the fire pit. The house is clean and well appointed (even with a S’Mores kit). The hosts are excellent. A fantastic VRBO.

The owners were extremely accommodating and the place was so clean and everything was labeled for ease of use. The hosts even welcomed our group with a tray of treats that the kids absolutely loved. The property was beautiful with the wild flowers and mowed trails through the tall grasses.

We've stayed here multiple times now, and we just absolutely love this property! We've been visiting the Central Lake area for years, and as long as this property is available we will always pick to stay here.

The house was super clean and the property is beautiful! If you are wanting to go on vacation and get away from everything, this is the perfect place! You get to see deer in the field in the back and it’s just a short drive into downtown. We took our dog and he absolutely loved the trials behind the house!

This was a beautiful place that was perfect for our family of four. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. It was exactly as described in the pictures and in the post. The location is excellent. It sits next to a wide open field where we watched the animals all week. We spent every night of our trip cooking outside and sitting by the fire. The hosts were excellent and very responsive. It was one of our favorite places we’ve ever stayed. Couldn’t recommend it more.
