Stayed Apr 22, 2023Cottage is excellent, full kitchen, A/C and enough space. It is well placed to visit many great places by car. Area feels very safe and quiet. Property manager lives next door and was very friendly & helpful, they even gave us a number for a car hire which wasn't available online. Another few doors down is LikeaLatte, a really nice cafe restaurant, round the corner is the fancier restaurant NOMAD. However, if you want to go further eg. Supermarkets, St John's, Dickenson Bay Beach, be prepared to either walk for over 30 mins in the heat with minimal pavements, get a taxi or hire a car. The property is not situated in St John's itself, its on what the locals call 'West Indies Oil road', by the West Indies Oil Company. This is a great location if you have access to a car, otherwise you're kind of out on your own relying on taxis. However, this is probably the case with most of the properties on Antigua. We had an excellent stay here.

Stayed Dec 14, 2019Great cottage in a quiet location (30 minutes walk to Dickenson Beach, 40 minutes to centre of St John’s.) There are 2 supermarkets that you can walk to relatively easily – Billys and the big Epicurean Foods. The family owners live on site in a cottage on the same plot and are very friendly. AC is great in the bedrooms and there are ceiling fans too. Good shower, and good, well equipped kitchen with stove, oven, kettle and coffee machine. There’s also a big freezer too. Lovely deck. The internet is fast and there’s also a TV here, but we didn’t use it at all. Great stay.

Stayed Aug 26, 2025The cottage itself is located in a safe area and close enough to Dickenson Bay, supermarket, bank etc. The host only seemed to remember we were arriving when we arrived. Every towel had a stain on it and the general utensils could do with updating. The sofas could do with a good deep clean as could scatter cushions. We struggled with the WiFi until the last day. The washing machine was broken but could function seemingly if you do not need to add detergent in the drawers and the bathroom accessories are very worn. There is a freezer and a cool box for taking to the beach. The current photo advertises is probably dated.Dave was friendly and welcoming.

Stayed Mar 20, 2025Location: very good. An upmarket residential area to the North of St Johns about 1 mile from Dickinson bay beach and 1 mile from the excellent Epicurean supermarket.Facilities: Also good. Fridge and freezer, toaster, microwave, cooker. Plenty of hot water. Towels, soaps dishcloths etc. supplied. Aircon in the two bedrooms, the one in the back room is very effective so we used that room. Insect mesh on all windows. The bed we used was comfortable. Previous renters had left the doors open so we needed a can of Raid to get rid of the mozzies but that's to be expected. Once the house was clear it stayed clear. We enjoyed our stay

Stayed Feb 11, 2025Only there for six nights but it was more than adequate for a longer stay. Wonderful host, the only downside was the very noisy road the propery was on, just a pain for breakfast on the terrace or a quiet evening after a long hot day.

Stayed Apr 7, 2024The property is very nicely maintained and the hosts made us feel welcome. The kitchen is well stocked with everything for cooking. Although they share the property, we felt private and safe. Dickenson Beach is beautiful and a short 5 minutes drive. Groceries, fuel, and restaurants are close also. It was a really great vacation! Thanks so much

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Myself my husband and 2 children aged 12 yrs and 1 yr stayed at Friars Hill Oct 08. The apartment was spotlesss, comfortable and had everything that you need, including a washing machine. The bedrooms are doubles and huge wardrobes and a/c. The island itself is georgeous and the beaches amazing, Long island was a favourite of ours as with children gentle waters and shade! the bar there sells great cocktails! I would also recommend the surf n turf at the waterfront which is near Sandals. We hired a car and drove around the Island which is a must and Shirley Heights is great! All in all we had a fantastic holiday and will be back again very soon, I would recommend this accomodation above any other!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The house is the best value on the island. This was my 2nd time staying there in 2 months. I have recommended it to several medical students for their parents book when they are visiting. The couple next door seem like family now!
