The Coach House sits within the former grounds of High Lea House, situated within a courtyard amongst other properties, it is the ideal holiday cottage for families or friends looking for a relaxing getaway. As you enter the cottage the first room you will find is the kitchen providing all the essentials for your stay. Through the kitchen is a spacious living area with electric fire, to relax and get cosy in the evenings. Upstairs you will find two lovely bedrooms. The first, containing a double bed with beautiful natural light. The second, a tad smaller, comes with one single bed, and a skylight. Next door to the bedrooms is the main bathroom, with shower. There is a small garden to the rear of the cottage, to sit and enjoy your cup of tea in the morning.

Within walking distance of The Coach House is the town centre of Oswestry, renowned for its bustling market, independent shops and café culture, it’s a great place to enjoy a day out. Rich in history, on the outskirts of town, you’ll find Old Oswestry – an Iron Age hillfort considered by English Heritage to be one of the greatest archaeological monuments of the nation. Take a walk there and enjoy the stunning views over Shropshire. Oswestry was the birthplace of Wilfred Owen, the World War I poet, commemorated both here and in Shrewsbury Abbey. Spend your days visiting the nearby charming towns – Ellesmere, the town itself is quiet and quite charming. Shopping is traditional with independent shops and a market, and you can stroll from here to town and then to the wharfage and out along the canal towpaths. Wem, Whitchurch and Market Drayton, all lovely north Shropshire towns to explore. Or Drift over the border to see the awesome Pontcysyllte and Chirk Aqueducts and don’t miss the castles. Whittington is a charming semi ruined castle in a quintessential English village and Chirk is a majestic granite castle built for Marcher lords in the 13th century. Choose to stay at The Coach House and enjoy all that this part of North Shropshire has to offer. Pub and restaurant ¾ mile.

Adequate accommodation but not much character. The garden isn’t really suitable for dogs. Parking can be a bit crowded in the courtyard. Having said all that we had a wonderful relaxing time.

The property was clean and tidy and everything we needed was provided. We were only there for two nights and it was perfect for us. The neighbours were friendly too! Many thanks.

The photographs do not show how steep the stairs are which may help people with trouble going up them. The garden was very overgrown not really very pleasant to sit in. Otherwise the property was great but we had to go home the next day as my husband was not well.
