Stayed Jul 9, 2022Excellent location with great views of the canal locks. Fort Augustus is a great base to explore the West Highlands. Clean property. Only black mark was the hot water boiler failed every day of our visit. It became apparent that this was a long term issue which had not been addressed by the owner. Running hot water is a key essential for any property.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This was our third time at Lock View so I guess we like it! In truth it's the location and proximity to the canal that is most appealing, sitting in the lounge or in bed and watching the boats go by! The flat itself, in truth is rather jaded and in need of some tlc and is only superficially clean. Its ok but no cigar...if you're looking for state of the art luxury this place isn't for you!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Flat is in a fantastic location facing locks on the Caledonian Canal. Every morning we watched an amazing variety of boats travel through the locks from the window of the flat. The flat is well proportioned; sitting room furniture could be better (slippery couch and chairs were uncomfortable though I appreciate their ease of cleaning.). A lock on the bathroom door? Fort Augustus has great facilities (Lock Inn, Botha, Richmond House, Cobbs bakery. Excellent base for touring Highlands (Skye, Inverness, Beauly, Glen Africa’s, Aviemore, Nairn)
