Votsalo 1 - Alykes, Zakynthos

Beach access and amenities were outstanding! Hosts made you feel like family and location was perfect with a short walk to the best restaurant in town—Apollo.

What a great spot. Perfect in every way. Extremely well priced with everything you want in a great location. We loved chilling out on the cabana bed, watching as our young children played in the shallow sea. We loved taking the kayak out, and all the sea toys. ‘Paradise’ was just 2 minutes walk away when we fancied the pool instead of the sea. Apollo Restaurant was fantastic. Recommend Fish Restaurant and Asteria Reataurant, they’re are great too. Pre-book sunbeds at Fish before you get there ?.

The reviews are all true...Votsalo really is as perfect as they say! Our whole trip, from start to finish was great. Kostas was excellent at communicating while we were booking and organising our holiday. We were welcomed so warmly by his family on arrival and the little extra touches were so appreciated. The apartment is beautiful and very well kept. The attention to detail makes it extra special. Votsalo is positioned just far enough out of Alykes village to make it lovely and peaceful, but close enough to walk in and enjoy the bars, restaurants and stock up on supplies at the small supermarkets. Having the beach at bottom of the garden was just gorgeous and we also enjoyed a couple of morning kayaking trips up the coast...so relaxing.

Thank you Kostas and family for making our stay truly wonderful, from the moment we arrived to when we left you made us feel at home and nothing was too much to ask. The accommodation is beautiful and so well equipped, the views are breathtaking it’s such a lovely spot in alykes, close enough to everything but not too close. We would definitely recommend here to anyone and can’t wait for our return trip

Apartment was clean and modern. Great kitchen and bathroom, powerful shower. Watched the sunrise most mornings. Seconds from the beach and shallow water. Kosta’s family were very friendly and accommodating and saw to our every need. Zakynthos is a stunning island we discovered so many beautiful places and the views were jaw dropping. Shoestring cafe bar is definitely worth a visit great food and views right by the beach. Lots of inflatables, canoes and airbeds free to use. Some really good local restaurants too. We loved it so much we are booking for next year and this will be the first time we have ever gone back to the same place it was perfect.

Votsalo 1 is situated in a peaceful part of Alykes, minutes from the town but enjoying peace and quite in its location. The apartment has two good sized bedrooms with excellent storage space - fully fitted wardrobes - not usually found in holiday apartments or hotels. Both rooms have very comfortable beds with crips white linens. The bathroom has a wonderful shower and is spotless - as is the rest of the property. The kitchen and living area is a delight! All newly fitted out with everything you could possibly need including a very snazzy oven. The attention to detail is first class. We enjoyed sitting on the patio (beautiful furniture, of course - chairs, table, loungers) for breakfast in the sunshine overlooking a garden and out to sea. Then again with a glass of wine in the evening as the sun was going down. Kostas' family was so very welcoming and we thank then very much for their kindness. It was also lovely to be greeted by Natalia, Kostas' friend who kindly gave us lots of information about the area to help us enjoy our stay in Alykes. Thank you to all. We hope to return soon!

The location was perfect, within 10 mins walking to the centre of Alykes, and handy for touring the rest of the island which we chose to do with quad bikes. The apartment has everything you need, with the bonus of a fantastic welcome and hospitality of Kostas family. It was great to know that we could get information, and advice on our travels easily. The apartment is well equipped, great wifi! Comfortable and very modern. There is loads of room to relax on the sun beds provided on the terrace, and just take in the views around you of the mountains behind and the sea which is a few steps away. Whilst the beach is stony in a few steps you are into a shallow sandy bay. For us the location on the island was great as we went to visit villages in mountains and across the other side of the island easily on the quads, and in a short time. The garden area provides another alternative seating area with its swing bed, vines (with loads gorgeous grapes), and access to free inflatable toys, raft, balls etc to enjoy. We also borrowed the push bikes which again are provided for anyone's use, should you feel energetic enough. In summary we had a great time in Zante, and this was definitely on part due to where we stayed, and the Greek welcome we received. Thank you Kostas and family, we hope to return some day!
