Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This unit is pretty nice. The beds were good, the furniture was reasonably new and comfortable and the kitchen had plenty of pots and pans etc. A disappointment occurred though when it was determined that the oven could not be operated and needed repair. It did not work for the entire week. If the management staff had not been so gracious about alternatives to this critical failure, I would have been very upset. The owner needs to replace the oven yesterday but as of the time I left, the useless oven hulk was still there. I also found an invasion of sugar ants. While reported to the manager, I could not tell if they ever addressed it. The ants certainly stayed around. All that said, this is generally such a nice location, I’m coming back to Sand Cay but I will probably call about the condition of the unit before I book this one again. There are lots of other nice places there.

My only complaint is that the WiFi was spotty on our phones anywhere other than the master bedroom. Anytime we left and returned we had to go to the bedroom to make sure our phone was reconnected. Also, the bathrooms could do with an update.

Great access to the beach, pool and nearby amenities. Property is well maintained and staff are friendly and professional.

The property location is very nice, however the unit is in need of a lot of work. When you open the door you are greeted by a filthy entrance carpet and stale smell. The carpet in the living area is also filthy. The overall feeling was dirty. Lights burnt out or missing and shabby decor. I enjoyed the Sandy Cay resort itself, but would never stay in this unit again.

The cabinet doors under the sink was nailed shut so there was no dish drainer or sponges available. There was also no simple pantry items like salt or pepper present. My wife did not realize that the hanging bathroom towel had blood stains on it until after she used it. Also the stopper in master bathroom sink was non functional. We will come back, but not choose this unit.

Prices has gone very high but not the quality of the units. Our room 105 was in general unclean not a poor job by the cleaning crew, but as a result of poor maintenance through the years, mold in the bathrooms for example, doors to the showers not working. Refrigerator was scheduled for replacement without notice in advance for us. A/C unit was not working for the first 2-3 days of our staying until we notified the front desk. Pool needs daily cleaning/maintenance, there was a dead frog for 2+ days before being removed. In general, Sand Cay is no longer worth the money we paid for the staying.

We always enjoy this resort. We learned this year that the major renovation season includes the week of July 4th (which is when we always take vacation) and according to the front office you need to choose a time to visit the resort in the winter months or rent a condo on the top floor if you do not want to listen to floors being layed and other construction from 9am thru 5pm daily.
