Hanalei Colony Resort C2 is a charming, intimate retreat on the far North Shore, perfect for a relaxed and romantic vacation! This cozy condo has two bedrooms, with the option to use one as a home office or children's bedroom, a nicely stocked kitchen, and a comfortably furnished living and dining area with incredible ocean views from the oversized windows. The shaded private lanai looks directly at the water, allowing you to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Pacific. Please note that the bedrooms are separated from the main living space via sliding shoji screens; while the screens offer visual privacy, they are by no means soundproof.

The amenities at Hanalei Colony Resort make this the perfect spot for a slow-paced and laidback vacation. Walk just a few steps and you're right on a warm, sandy beach away from any crowds! Or, spend a day by the pool and hot tub, lounging in the sun and grilling in the outdoor kitchen. If you need to truly unwind and pamper yourself, the Hanalei Day Spa is just across the parking lot and offers some incredible services (can you say beachside couple's massage ). You'll also find the Gaia Restaurant on site for some tasty seaside bites, as well as the Na Pali Art Gallery & Coffee Shop where you can peruse some beautiful art while enjoying a morning brew. Additionally, there is an on site coin-operated laundry room, so be sure to bring some quarters! (the front office can usually make change if you don't have any quarters)

For those of us that like to get out and about, Hanalei Colony Resort C2 is still conveniently close to many main attractions. Take a quick 15 minute drive and you're in the heart of Hanalei town, with all its charming boutiques, restaurants, and cafes. Grab a bite to eat or a shave ice before heading to the iconic beaches of Hanalei Bay for the day. Tunnels Beach, perfect for snorkeling, is only 3 minutes away driving, or 20 minutes on foot if you prefer to walk it. Ha'ena Beach is just another 3 minutes down the road, and is an absolute hidden gem with crystal clear waters and some of the best sunsets in the world. You're also just 10 minutes away from the Limahuli Garden & Preserve, which offers an introduction into native Hawaiian culture and its ties to the natural landscape against a backdrop of dramatic mountains and the Pacific Ocean. For any basic grocery needs, as well as delicious sandwiches, acai bowls, coffee, and shave ice, head 3 minutes down the road to the Wainiha Country Market. You'll also find a lovely selection of local goodies you won't be able to resist.

Please note that Hanalei Colony Resort was built in simpler times in a more remote location. The resort was designed with the untouched, natural environment as the main draw, and does not offer all the luxuries of modern resorts. There is no dishwasher and no TV in the unit (although there is very fast Wi-Fi), and it takes longer to access other parts of the island. Drive time to Princeville and Kilauea is roughly 30 minutes, to the East Side (where the airport is) is 70 minutes, and to the South Shore is over 90 minutes. We highly recommend renting a car, as third party guests are unfortunately NOT able to use the resort shuttle services. We do, however, encourage guests to take advantage of the North Shore Shuttle, which services locations such as the Wainiha Country Market, Limahuli Gardens, and Ha'ena State Park. The shuttle will pick you up right in the parking lot of Hanalei Colony Resort (super convenient!), and advance reservations are required.

As with most homes on Kauai, this vacation rental is NOT air conditioned, however there are ceiling fans in each space and additional tower fans to help with air flow.

Although this is a ground floor unit, you will need to be able to go up 4 stairs to access the front door.

Although this home has internet, the speed and reliability cannot be guaranteed due to the remote location and the service being provided by a third-party.

Note: host requires all guests, whether they book directly or via a third party website, to complete a rental agreement within 3 days of booking.

Beautiful property right on the water and about 2 miles to tunnels beach and 3 miles to downtown Hanalei bay. Super peaceful and open with a good restaurant and coffee shop nearby. Pool and hot tub were fab! Would give it 5 stars except the communication during the stay wasn’t great, the outdoor furniture was damaged, and the fire alarm was broken.

The place had a sewer gas smell during our trip. There was some beach chairs that where junk and should be thrown away!

We felt the unit was in need of repair. The sliding glass door screens were stuck. The silverware drawer was dismantled and had to be removed to access silverware.. Also, because this was rented from the renter, some of the privilege's, such as access to the shuttle service, were not available. The beech was within 100 yards and that was nice.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hanalei Colony Resort, Unit C2. The location is perfectly situated right next to Kepuhi Beach and about a 30-minute walk to Tunnels Beach, which made it easy to enjoy the north shore at a relaxed pace. The café on the property was incredibly convenient for my daily matcha and bagels in the morning. While I didn’t have the chance to book a massage next door, I loved how close and accessible it was—both the café and massage studio are separately owned, which is nice to know. The unit itself was very clean and well organized. While it is on the older side, I found that part of its charm—it felt cozy and authentic rather than outdated. Management was friendly, helpful, and easy to communicate with throughout my stay.Having a laundry area and a water filter onsite was an added bonus and made the stay even more comfortable. Overall, this was a great experience, and I would absolutely stay here again.

We absolutely loved our stay. We’ve been to several of the islands and love our time away from the resorts and being more in the heart of Hawaii life. This location was absolutely perfect we felt like we were in our own little world and it had the perfect ocean breeze keeping us cool at night.

This property is pretty much located at the end of the line! As far into norther Kauai as you can go! Rugged and beautiful, very unique compared with our last stay in Poipu. It was an amazing locale for our 16th wedding anniversary and our turning 40 trip! We did do a fair bit of driving given the locations remoteness but given that it was us without kids this time, it wasn’t an issue, plus we had a lot of the island that we wanted to tour anyhow! Overall great experience. The “no A/C” was not an issue at all, fans and open shutters kept the temperature very comfortable with a cross breeze coming in from the ocean. The bed was comfortable, the unit was clean and minimalist, footsteps from the beach/ocean (not very swimmable here due to aggressive surf and reef/rocks). Amazing swimmable beaches were all within a 5-20 min drive though and this didn’t detract from our experience as it was part of the adventure.

We made use of the complex grill when the power went out for 24 hours. Thankfully there was some foil provided in the rental, along with oil, salt, pepper, and a few more condiments to grill our fresh fish. The kitchen had everything we needed. One minor issue was taken care of pronto, the other minor issue ( bathroom sink related) has not yet been resolved but did not inconvenience us. The property is lovely, the space was welcoming and comfortable. I appreciated the few games and books available. We had a great time here, hopefully we can come back one day.

Great location on the North shore, close to Tunnels beach. Beautiful view of the sunrise from the lanai. Nice to have the restaurant on site for a quick bite if needed. A little dated but everything else definitely makes up for it. Would come back again for sure.

The unit and the property were both perfect! Staff were great too, as we were all dealing with some effects of a winter storm. We are going back as a family in the summer I liked it there so much!

There were some snacks on arrival, which was nice. The pool and hot tub are nice, and laundry is in that building (but we did have someone take our clothes out and use our washer, and management just kinda said “that stinks.”). It’s coin operated only and there’s no change machine. The condo was dated, and people tried to dress it up with some new bedding and furniture. Not all of the outlets and lights worked, and two of the fan lights would randomly come on at night, waking everyone up. The one fan was unable to be turned off at all. The management at the colony made it very clear we were “outsiders” by booking via vrbo. There is no AC and it is a bit musty in there, lots of dust on the blinds and dividers. No true privacy between rooms. I don’t think you can actually call this two bedrooms.Hanalei is really far North and after a fallen tree one night, we had to wait a few hours before we could get back. It’s also super dark, windy, single lane bridges at night. We were ok with that, but something to keep in mind.As long as you’re not expecting a posh place, it’s fine if you like it up North, and are ok with it just being a stopping area between adventures. It’s nice it’s so close to tunnels beach and you can beat the crown there.Overall, it felt safe, but it wasn’t what we were expecting based on the pics.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very clean and quiet. Great location. Outlets in bathrooms did not work. Staff very friendly. Kitchen clean and well stocked with cookware, but very few consumables. A bit stingy on the number of towels we were allowed to use ( rather strange)

We booked this for our anniversary and the host had a note and little gift greeting us to the place. The room where was outstanding – from the minute we walked in until we left. The lanai overlooks Shipwreck beach, and it was delightful to watch the sun rise every morning. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay - very comfortable bed and we loved having the AC for our bedroom at night. We would come back to this unit on future trips.
