These light-filled accommodations are an excellent home base for your time in Savannah.
The bedroom features repurposed & vintage furnishings with a comfortable queen sized bed. This room at the back of the house overlooks the garden, and has anensuite bathroom. The bedroom is equipped with a powerful white noise machine to create a quiet sanctuary in an otherwise noisy city. You will need to climb stairs to access this room, as it is not well suited for those with mobility impairments or travelers with a lot of luggage.
This private suite shares walls with another unit, and is accessed through the building's common utility room but has its own locking door.
This historic house is a showplace for local, sustainable residential design. Our goal is to set new examples for the sustainable and creative retrofitting of historic homes, while boosting the community we are so privileged to be embedded in.

*This particular space is most comfortable for ages 12 and older.

The Starland Arts District, first developed in the 1920's for middle-class streetcar commuters, is the most exciting neighborhood in Savannah right now (ask the New York Times, they've profiled us twice). Most recently, our neighborhood was voted Best Neighborhood In The South by Southern Living Magazine. We are steps away from the Green Truck Pub, (the city's favorite restaurant), Starland Yard, Victory North, and the world famous Back in the Day Bakery. Graveface Records and the super local Bull Street Shopping and Arts corridor is just 4 short blocks from out door. Our street dead-ends into the aptly named Wormhole, a unique dive bar that hosts great bands and stand-up comedy (Dave Chappelle, David Spade and Adam Sandler have all performed impromptu sets there in recent years). Art March Savannah has us surrounded the First Friday of each month, with the Savannah College of Art and Design foundation studies school right up the road. Our neighbors, SCAD faculty, are presently converting their huge adjacent lot into an urban farm. This is the freewheeling, vital part of Savannah you've heard about, where people still throw block parties, paint murals and build stuff with their hands. All this action means it's also noisy sometimes, let us mention again the train tracks that cut their way across town. We have a love-hate relationship with these trains, but if you are a light sleeper or have trouble falling asleep, you won't find them charming. (Be sure to take a look at a map of Savannah before you choose your lodging as these tracks cut right across the heart of the city and can be heard loud and clear from most of downtown). An easy one-mile bike ride gets you to the Landmark Historic squares and riverfront tourist attractions, but you won't feel a bit disappointed to come home to Starland each night. It's impossible to spend time here and not feel inspired. If you are looking for the River Street tourist experience or an Olde South Antebellum B&B, please look elsewhere, we are NOT those hosts and this is not that neighborhood. Ours is a part of town where people still live, business are owned by locals and everyone takes great pride in our community. We are the most economically and racially diverse neighborhood in Savannah, and are proud to boast the LOWEST crime rates of anywhere downtown. If this diversity is off-putting to you, please stop now and stay somewhere else. If you respect the uniquely wonderful fabric of integrated and emerging New Southern communities, if you're as excited as we are to be immersed in a Savannah's creative culture, we're probably friends already and we really look forward to meeting you!!
100% no indoor smoking of any kind or events/parties. We live on site and WILL know. I’ve stayed here twice and enjoyed it both times. Great simple place to use as your home base as you explore beautiful Savannah.

The balcony was covered with tree limbs and felt a little unsteady. There was debris from the trees and the security light didn’t work or at least didn’t come on when we were coming up the steep steps in the dark. It was wet & rainy which the host has no control over, but that made the steps seem very hazardous.

The location is fantastic. Only a few hundred ft around the corner from Starland District and some neighborhood bars and restaurants. Easy walk to the park and the rest of the historic district. This is not a criticism: maybe a make-shift kitchen? Like a hot plate, counter, and mini fridge? It's just hard to stay on budget when having to eat out all day. Could raise the price/value of the room. I felt like there was adequate space for these additions.Anyway, I plan on moving to Savannah soon as a result of this trip so thank you to the host for being part of that!

Fantastic from start to finish. Hosts were incredibly accommodating and the property was even better than described with a great seating area and outdoor balcony! Loved the neighbourhood and proximity to everything around the city. My only recommendation would be to note the stairs up to the unit, as I had to carry some heavy items up and down without prior knowledge of them. An absolute gem!!

My wife and I came to spend her birthday weekend. It didn't have any trash bags and only one roll of tissue. One of the sinks didn't drain. Should look into getting either a TV or a mini fridge, or both. Possibly clean the stairs leading into the room and the patio. Reorganize the layout of the room, so that one does not have to squeeze behind the bed to get to the bathroom.

This was a cute room in the Starland District, convenient to many restaurants and bars, as well as a nearby free bus into the downtown Savannah area. If you have physical challenges, be aware the stairs are a little steep and slippery when wet. In addition, while the bedroom and bathroom each are large and inviting, people with larger bodies like mine may find it a little tight entering the bathroom area because of the bed placement. Another note is that there is no closet or chest in which to store clothing or other items, just a few hooks with hangers on the wall. However, these did not diminish my enjoyment of the stay at all. The hosts provided a coffeepot and microwave in the room. Parking on the street is free (mind the street sweeping times) and relatively easy to find. There was no appreciable city noise during my stay other than an exuberant train horn in the early morning some days. Overall a great place to stay while exploring Savannah in a lovely neighborhood.

The bed was comfortable, if not a little in the way of bathroom door. The bathroom was nice. The check in was easy enough. There were 3 dead bugs on the ground when I arrived which you’d think whoever cleaned would have gotten. I would look into getting a mini fridge for leftovers and a tv for the room, also the balcony/staircase needs severe trimming of the weeds/leaves. Overall if you are just visiting for a quick trip by yourself or with one other person this place is affordable and was close enough to downtown and comfortable enough to sleep.

I arrived for a late check in. Upon entering the room I could tell something didn't smell right. The source appeared to be from the curtains and it seemed like they had not been cleaned. My allergies flared up and I left to find a hotel. What was supposed to be a 230 weekend turned into also paying for a 600 hotel stay due to availability. The following day the host agreed to give me a refund, but it was never processed. I contacted VRBO support and opened up a case, I have yet to receive a refund and it's been over a month.
