SugarTop Resort - Indoor Pool & Hot Tubs --Money Saver-- Sugar Mountain, NC

This was our first time at the mountains and it was such a great experience. The place was clean and had an awesome view to the other mountains, we enjoyed watching people skying from our balcony. Shopping places, food, and adventure is all close by.

We enjoyed our quiet stay. The shuttle was quick and ready to bring us up and down the mountain if needed. The hot tub and sauna were relaxing.

Everything was absolutely amazing! The place was very clean and had everything we needed! The staff was excellent and very friendly and helpful! The view was out of this world beautiful! Would definitely recommend!

The apartment was just as described and it worked perfect for our family of 4. The view of the slopes is super nice and we didn't have issues with the shuttle at all. It actually was pretty fast to get up or down to the parking lot. The pool, sauna, hot tub were perfect for the after activities to relax and unwind. Perfect ski weekend!!!!

In looking at the internet, the property was supposed to be on the corner of the 9th floor of Sugar Top property! That is why I picked this one, so we would have a fabulous view!! Instead, we were on the 1st floor,, over the pool area, with very little view of the mountains. Very disappointing to us! Hated the room. as it was very outdated! I will probably use aiirB & B in the future and not VRBO! They would not move us to another condo!

My family and I stayed at this property for the first time and overall had a wonderful experience. Upon arrival, parking and checkin was easy. The first day and night we didn’t have balcony access as they were doing outside work on the building. We were able to have access after the first day, so it wasn’t a huge deal. The condo itself is certainly dated but I found the 1980 vibes matching with the year the condo was built - a neat feature personally. One thing to note: there is no air conditioning. We visited during the hottest part of summer and were nervous when we learned about the AC. However, after opening the balcony door and setting a fan in front, it doesn’t take long to cool down the place midday. There’s a nice indoor pool on the property, it is not heated during the summer. All of the property staff are super nice, from the front desk to the shuttle drivers, and all we’re very helpful in giving us suggestions and ideas for our trip. Overall we had a great time and will definitely be visiting again!

Due to year of construction, the dryer vents into the room rather than through an exterior vent. This caused a high level of humidity in the rooms and noise when drying clothes. Cooking utensils were acceptable, but older. However, the age of the condo was communicated in the listing and as such, the price was appropriate and entirely fair. Host was exceptional with communication both before and during our stay. Pool was excellent and a great break after skiing.

Super happy with this lodging for price, location and amenities. We brought groceries and didn’t even start our vehicle for the 4 nights we stayed here. The ski resort is a 6-7 minute walk. The pool, hot tub and gym kept us from getting “cabin fever” on the bad weather day. Family games and movies kept us occupied while hanging out in this unit. The sliding glass door does not lock and the blow up mattress has a slow leak. But Mike, the owner, is super accessible and I’m sure he will have these issues resolved quickly. I’m going to go ahead and book again for next year!

It was a great place. We came up for two nights with our girls to ski Sugar mountain. The location was very convenient. The condo was clean. The kitchen and bathrooms could use an update but overall it was a great value for the price.

Everything as it should be will come again.

The condo was great and the view was fantastic when you aren’t out and about with all there is to do in the area. The Host was great to communicate with and the unit has all you need to feel at home. Mike also made an excellent recommendation for a special dinner and Stonewalls was spot on with excellent food and service. My wife and I will be back.

The trip is a Christmas gift for my granddaughter, she really enjoys snowboarding Sugartop. We have stayed with the same host for several years now, & really enjoy the amenities in the unit as well as the resort.Already planning on a return trip next year.

We had a wonderful stay in this very cozy room—thank the host for sharing such a lovely space. The kitchen is extremely well stocked with everything you might need, including flour, sugar, salt, pepper, oil, plastic wrap, foil, and pots in various sizes. Having a washer and dryer in the unit, along with laundry detergent, was incredibly convenient, and the trash chute being on the same floor made things even easier.Although the unit is on the first floor, the view is absolutely gorgeous since the entire apartment sits at the top of Sugar Mountain. From the porch, you can watch skiers and lift. Besides, the sunset views are truly spectacular.Before arriving, I was a bit concerned about parking, as cars need to be parked in the lower lot and guests rely on the shuttle to reach the apartment. However, during our stay— even during the Christmas period—the shuttle service was very frequent and efficient, with an average wait time of only about one to two minutes. It turned out to be extremely convenient.The apartment also has many games, books, and board games, which were perfect for keeping the kids entertained. I would highly recommend this place to friends and would definitely love to stay here again.

The room was great for the price

The resort and staff were phenomenal. The room was dirty and the pictures made it look like the view was beautiful. In fact you are on the 1st floor with a balcony view of the a/c unit or big metal box. Couch was old and very uncomfortable. The rugs were filthy. We left after the first night. Again resort was phenomenal, room was not.

The condo was very nice. Was stocked very well. Do need a least one sharp knife. Picked a loaf of bread. Without realizing it wasn’t sliced. Only a butter knife. The only negative thing I would say. Is that the pictures that you provided. Never shows that your balcony opens up to a roof. Kind of kills the view.

Wonderful place to stay in the summer. Flowers are blooming everywhere and the cooler temps are a delight. The kitchen has great tools to cook elaborate meals. We loved our weeks stay!!

As always this condo is perfect. The amenities are thoughtful ( hand soap, luggage racks, fans, etc). Already booked for next year. Can’t wait to return!

I thought it was wonderful. A little worried about lack of air conditioning, but it was ok.Not a fan of the need to shuttle

I found out the property has no air conditioning by entering the condo when it was 88. Inside. Completely disingenuous right from the outset. Several dozen college age men pushed us out of the pool so we couldn't enjoy it Wednesday. Then, after dinner Thursday about 7pm, we were informed we couldn't park in the empty parking lot beside the building anymore. We left before I got upset and got back around 2am. Thanks for nothing. Terrible place.

Stayed at sugartop for the first time with this trip for my 21st birthday loved the location and the room the amenities where amazing and staff was very friendly!

We loved it here! The place was great for a family of 5. The air mattress came in handy. You’re only about a 5 minute drive from the slopes and 8-10 minute drive from downtown banner elk! I highly recommend bellas italian restaurant, tubing and Highland Ski rentals! Micheal was easy to work with and answered all of our questions promptly.

Had a great stay at this beautiful condo! Loved that they had a Xbox for the kids-nice touch!

Nice place but you have to use a shuttle to get in and out of the building. The shuttles run very frequently but if you are planning to go back and forth from the mountain more than once it becomes a hassle. If you're planning to leave for the day and not come back until the evening it's great.

No surprises, unit was clean, kitchen had all the essentials and beds were comfortable. We will be back. We came to ski but unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate.

Great location, view of slopes off balcony, 2 bedroom/ 2 bath, stocked kitchen, fireplace, facility has pool, hot tub, sauna & more. Convenient to ski resort, shopping and restaurants

We arrived during bad weather so the check in process was a little hectic. We had to park at a lower level lot and be shuttled up to the resort after you unload your luggage. The shuttle service was slow due to the bad weather. But overall the stay was fantastic and the shuttle service was a lot faster the next day.

Shuttle process is a challenge every time you need to go to your vehicle. Very outdated. For summer stays fyi no a/c

Nice to be on lower level because you can’t bring your equipment inside, no parking close by during holidays. Thankfully we used the stairs because it was so busy. This location would be great outside of the holiday season. We had everything we needed inside to unit. Great communication by owners.

It was the perfect place to relax with my wife and enjoy a great scenery of the mountains! We will definitely be back again.
