Stayed Dec 31, 1969Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great winter on Longboat Key in regards to the weather. Only a few cool days in early January but pleasant for the remainder of our stay. 89 days. Unfortunately, along with the nice weather came the Red Tide. Not only were we physically bothered (coughing) by the tide, the fish kill was the worst I have ever seen. At the height of the kill, we had one of the highest (high) tides in recent memory which scattered the dead fish all the way to the dunes. If the county would have come out with their cleaning equipment shortly thereafter, the smell of rotting fish would not have been the #1 topic of the residents of Whitney Beach. Since they didn't come until much later, the beach was almost vacant for 10-14 days. County government should be ashamed of themselves.
