The condo was wonderful, the owners were anwesome, and Staff plus amenities at the condo building were fantastic as well. You cannot beat the amazing gorgeous views off the balcony overlooking the mountains and the ski resort! The sunsets were absolutely phenomenal!! We enjoyed fun, affordable skiing at Sugar Mountain, and then complimentary sledding at Beech Mountain the next day. We explored Elk banner and Avery, and then had a great time hiking on Roan Mountain. We thought the condo was very well priced and we plan to return! Thank you for the memorable trip!

If you want an amazing view this is your place! We watched the sunsets every night from the private balcony with a glass of wine ! Very clean and has everything you need. The location is perfect for Boone,Blowing Rock and Banner Elk . Denise the owner was very responsive to one concern we had and it was resolved very quickly. I would definitely rent this unit again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the condo. I especially appreciated the calm of the surrounding area and the magnificent views. You can see the sunset from the living room window, along with the horizon of the mountain ranges. Since the unit is on the 8th floor, clouds passed by at eye level and below on cloudy/rainy days! As a solo traveler, I found the place to be an ideal environment to read, reflect, and relax.In addition, the hosts are very kind and responsive. They made sure that I was fully informed and welcomed before, during, and after my stay. I appreciate their hospitality, and I look forward to staying again.

The views from the condo balcony are amazing. This was our first time skiing and snowboarding, and we were pleased with the closeness of the condo to the ski resort and to Banner Elk and its restaurants and shops. The pool and hot tub were a welcome feature after the daytime activities.

Beautiful location and well kept! The host was very helpful before we arrived and assisted in the knowledge of the local area, as well as helping understand weather conditions, because we were driving up in the snow. We agree that 4wd or AWD in winter is necessary, but what an amazing place. And the resort crew really did a great job of keeping up with the road and salting everything as the snow was coming down hard. The view is gorgeous and everything was wondeful in the condo! We loved having this place to call home for a few days! We are looking forward to our next visit!

My family had a great experience here. The location and views were perfect. The unit had all the amenities we needed. The dryer was great for our wet snow gear. The beds were very comfortable. The hosts also were very accommodating. The communication was the best part. Any questions were answered quickly and confidently. Super hosts for sure. Friendly and always willing to help us out to make our trip the best.

The hosts were incredibly friendly and communicative, providing us with ample information both before and during our stay. The location is fantastic, conveniently situated near the ski resort and other amenities and restaurants. Outstanding stay for a Thanksgiving get away! Unit was perfectly clean. Beds were comfortable and linens were quality. Towels were plentiful and plush. Couch was so comfortable with tons of snuggly blankets. Host offered sweet goodies like flavored coffee/hot choc, emergency toiletries, and starter cleaning supplies for dishes and trash. Amenities (spa, pool, hot tub) were well maintained and a lifesaver on the bitterly cold days. Place felt like home with a door wreath, mini Christmas tree and fully decorated harvest table! Host was extremely attentive via app/text but not intrusive. Extremely reasonable for price! Also, couldn’t beat the view, especially when we woke up to surprise snow!

The room was clean and comfortable, the front desk was nice and helpful, and the balcony offered beautiful views.

The host are always available and fast to respond. What we like about the place is how clean it was. Towels and bedroom sheets are clean with no stains. In the kitchen she has everything you need to cook meals. The place has an awesome views.

The say was great. The apartment is well maintained, clean and with beautiful views. That there is also a heated pool for the building makes it a really great deal. The owner checked in with us and was really kind. Overall a great experience. The only thing to consider is that there is a shuttle bus that take you to the property, meaning you need to drop of everyone, drive back to the large parking lot, and catch a shuttle- this can be a bit of a hustle for a family, but it worked out ok for us, we just had to be more planned than usual. *there is a small shop and bar in the building in case uou need something urgent which also makes it easier.

My family and I had a wonderful time here. The place was clean and spacious with wonderful views. We will be looking to stay here again next time we visit the area.

Loved our stay on sugar mountain! The condo was clean and had everything we needed. The view is so beautiful and I do hope for more comfortable porch seating when we hopefully come back! Also the pool is quite cold even during the summer months.

Well kept apartment in 1980s vintage mountain top high rise near ski area. The Banner Elk area has mostly healed after last Fall's Hurricane. Host very helpful.

This was our first time using Vrbo and it was a wonderful experience. The condo exceeded our expectations! Everyone there was very friendly. We explored the area each day and used the pool/hot tub each evening but made a point to be back at the condo to watch the sunset. The view is spectacular! One evening there were storms in the distance, and we had a lightning show. If we choose to go to this area again, we will definitely stay here!

Extremely comfortable and relaxing. The area is beautiful. The pool was nice and relaxing. Our teen son enjoyed the gym. A couple of fun spots for kids are the Alpine coaster, park in banner elk that has a little running creek, Blowing Rock (cost efficient, easy, ADA approved), and drive down Blue Ridge Parkway and stop at the pull offs. Puerto Neuvo Restaurant was fabulous & so good. Thank you for hosting your beautiful condo.

Our first time to stay at Sugar mountain, and we loved it! We highly recommend this place! The hosts are amazing! The property is beautiful on the inside and their location has the best Mountain Views! We enjoyed the pool, sauna, weight room and whirlpool! We will be back!

The property is located in a building. The special thing about the building is its location. Located on the very top of Sugar Mountain (5k miles elevation), it’s impossible not to spot the building, which makes it even better to be in the property. You’re given everything needed to have a proper stay with all necessary accommodations. The view is especially breathtaking; even just being on the very ground level of the building is amazing. The staff is above and beyond! A very amazing team, I felt very welcomed. My favorite part was all the attractions around. I had a very fantastic time.

This place is a hidden gem in the smokies. Couldn’t ask for a better view. Check-in process was smooth and easy. Everyone that worked at the resort was super friendly. Property owners were absolutely fantastic to deal with. 10 out of 10.

We loved Denise's place at Sugar Top! Not only is the view breathtaking, but the condo was super clean and comfortable. The trendle bed ended up coming in handy for our 2- year old that hasn't quite transitioned out of a crib, and our daughter loved the top bunk. The indoor pool was also a big hit. The location was perfect, allowing us easy access to both Tweetsie Railroad and the Linville Caverns. We definitely hope to be and to stay again sometime!

10/10 recommend this property. The view was absolutely gorgeous and the property was cozy and comfortable. Our 9 month old enjoyed his first “swim” in the indoor heated pool and he enjoyed looking at everything. The hosts, Denise & Ed, were wonderful. The check in instructions were very clear and the process was so easy. We will definitely rebook this condo when we come back to visit western, NC.

My family and I travelled to Sugartop recently can not speak more highly of our experience there. The property was incredibly family friendly, the staff was courteous and knowledgeable. Our kids absolutely loved the indoor pool area. The proximity to Sugar Mountain was ideal. Our host (Denise) was amazing as well. She has fantastic communication, and checked on us every step of the way. Her condo was extremely spacious and clean. Not to mention that it had everything that we could have possibly needed. Our 5 and 4 year olds loved the bunkbeds and being able to watch the skiers from the balcony. They also provided us with a couple of sleds that we took full advantage of. Overall, it was an amazing experience and we can't wait to be back!

We had a great family weekend rediscovering the area around Sugartop. My wife and I hadn’t been in the area since college days. This condo was the genesis of the trip. I found it on VRBO and decided the family needed to see snow for sure this year. After arriving, my 7 year old was looking out the window and decided she had to try skiing for the first time and so began our adventure to get her a lesson at Sugar the next morning. All of that went well and she’s already asking when we can go back. The condo was perfect for our needs and my daughter loved the bunk beds and TV in her room. The living room is comfortable and has amazing views. No complaints at all about the rest of the unit. We also made use of the pool and spa area and enjoyed ourselves. We visited Beech, Boone, and Hawksnest all within a short drive and of course Sugar is right out the window. There are two grocery stores right nearby and overall we liked the area.

I’ve stayed at Sugar Top before, and this unit had the best views so far!Check-in was a breeze at the front desk—much more convenient than having to pick up keys off-site, as I’ve had to in the past. The property was clean, well-maintained, and updated, with great communication throughout. Excellent value for the price!It also seems like building management has improved since last year. The gym was noticeably cleaner, and the shuttle from the parking lot ran efficiently.Overall, a wonderful experience—I’d definitely stay here again!

Brought nieces from Rio to learn to ski. They were on their college summer break and left 100 deg temps to see snow for the first time. There was a heavy snowfall the day before we arrived, but the road to the condo was scraped and easy for any AWD vehicle. The communication with the owner was thorough and prepared us for the trip. The condo was very clean and comfortable. Everyone in the condo management were friendly and helpful. The nieces learned to ski with the excellent Sugar Mtn Ski School and very much enjoyed coming back to the condo pool and jacuzzi. As seasoned travelers, this property exceeded all their aunt and uncle’s expectations. Our nieces may very well have a new and lifelong sport and it was this property that made it possible!

There was a great view of the mountain and the unit was a great place to stay, and at a great price!

We (myself, husband, and 3 teens) stayed at Sugar Top and had Denise as our host. She was absolutely amazing. She communicated everything with us prior to our arrival and made sure we had no unexpected surprises waiting for us. The whole family had an amazing time and we will be contacting her again for our next mountain trip!!

This is a great property! We had a winter stay and the location was a great choice. The property is truly on the top of a mountain- we didn’t have snow, but couldn’t have gotten there without 4WD if it had snowed. The property as whole (not just the unit) is a little outdated and getting our stuff into the building was challenging (lots of people and very chaotic). Once we made it to the unit, we had the most beautiful views and a perfectly clean unit. The unit is small, but more than adequate- it had all the space we needed for our family. The building has a great heated pool and is near the ski slopes. Getting up and down the mountain takes time, so we were glad that the unit had everything we needed, but we also brought lots of things with us (kitchen and bathroom staples). The hosts were communicative, respectful, and helpful when needed. It was a great experience and we would love to go back one day!

The condo has spectacular views and a cozy at home feeling. It is the closest room to the elevator on the 8th floor and it has a stelar view of the ski slopes at Sugar Mountain ski resort and the panoramic views of the NC mountains. The hosts are super friendly, extremely kind, and had excellent communications before the trip and checked in during just to make sure that we had everything we needed. From start to finish it was just an amazing experience. The living room was decorated for Christmas and it made our kids day. It was a 10 out of 10 experience and we will definitely be going back.

This property is as advertised. It has amazing views of the Blue Ridge mountains. It is very clean and the bed is comfortable. It is convenient to shopping, restaurants and activities. We enjoyed our stay here.

Everything about our 4 night stay was top of the line. From check in to check out everything was 1st class. Spectacular views. Central to Boone, Linville, and Blowing Rock. Comunication with Denise was fast friendly and easy. Highly recommend.
