The place met our needs. Reasonable clean. Could use some maintenance. For the price and us being out skiing, it was a place to watch some tv and sleep.

This property is a very basic little unit super close to the ski resort. If all you want to do is ski and sleep and maybe fix a sandwich, you’re all set. We were here for the Highland Games and the bus picked up at the bottom of the hill. The property itself is a little careworn with dings and scratches and minor fixes. However, every time we turned around we found something new. Any one or two of these would be no big deal but they just kept piling up. The housekeeping was slipshod as well. Specific items are in photos. Also, we pulled wet dirty dishes out of the cupboard, they rigged power to one side of the bed with a janky extension cord that I keep reading horror stories about, and no hand towels in the kitchen. They supplied soap and paper towels, buying you have to wash bath towels and linens anyway, why not have a couple of kitchen towels? I have never rented a property managed by Vacasa before and I never will again. They communicate via app and I never spoke to a human. Worst of all, we got the chance to know some lovely local folks at our unit and the one the rest of our family used, and they all reported horrible stories of working with Vacasa, or rather, not being able to because they’re impossible to contact. Our family’s unit was far worse than ours, with active construction happening. So, unit owner, kick Vacasa to the curb because they’re obviously not doing the job you need them to do to keep your property in good condition.

A bit hard to find, glad it was daylight when we arrived! We were in the area to visit small towns of NC. Many not terribly far from this location! Banner Elk, Boone, Grandfather, Seven Devils, and Blue Ridge ParkwayFreshest air you could breathe! Comfortable living room furniture, and plenty spacious for two.

Getting into the unit was very challenging as the door code did not work and the instructions did not give the key code for the key box so we waited an hour for someone to come to get us in. The porch was so dirty as were the seat cushions. The internet was incredibly slow and no local channels to watch college football.

It was a convenient accommodation to visit Land of Oz. If you don’t mind an old building to stay in for a short weekend, it is a good place to stay. It wasn’t thoroughly cleaned, the utensils had food residue, the microwave needed wiping from food spatter, coffee stains in the utensil drawer, some dust on top of the coffee maker and toaster. Some beer top found under the bed, spider web in the corner of the room found. Crumbs across the corner of the kitchen floors were noted too as soon as we arrived. I just wiped and washed everything before use. Otherwise it’s an okay place to stay in for a quick trip. Dishwashing liquid/sponge, soap bar and towels were provided. Convenient location. Good sized fridge.

Over all, it was ok. However, they could do a much better job at cleaning. There were cobwebs all over the house, the dishes in the cabinets were dirty, utensils were sparse and broken. If they have a cleaning service cleaning the property, they should find new ones. It wasn't super horrible but they could do better. Overall, we enjoyed the stay but the cleanliness or lack of, we would not stay again.
