I am not one to give a negative review, but this was the worst experience I have ever had with a VRBO. I did read the reviews before booking so was not surprised by how small this was. Even with the cooler temperatures and floor fans running constantly, the upstairs stayed warm and stuffy. There were no parking passes when we arrived. I tried calling the local number listed on the assn. sheet when we arrived but it was not a working number. The local numbers listed on my booking email were also non-working. I was able to reach someone with Vacasa, but no parking passes ever arrived. Be aware that construction is going on with building A. You have to enter through building B and then go across the pool area/courtyard to get to building A. We were greeting by a large dog, albeit friendly one, when we got to the top of the stairs. If you are expecting pet-free facility, this is not one. Homeowners can have pets but renters cannot. Nextdoor to our unit was a small dog that barked quite a bit with people coming and going. This also occurred in the evening when we were trying to go to sleep. Now back to the construction issues. From 9am to 5pm on Saturday (Labor Day weekend) a jackhammer was being used to tear up the cement landing of building A. Eventually the work was being done right under our rental unit to where I couldn't hear the television and the room was shaking. There were no sharp knives, no cutting board. Kitchen sink doesn't drain. I do not recommend!!!!
The condo was tiny, but had all the amenities we needed for a perfect skiers weekend. Just steps from the lift and the classic ski lounge bar. Thank you, for making comfortable beds!
We carefully reviewed listing so we knew the condo was quite compact. However, didn't realize access to beds upstairs was a steep, narrow ladder. Kitchen was very well equipped but watch you don't bump your head on stove hood or upper cabinets. Excellent shower, nice recliner sofa and great TV.
Affordable condo with amazing views and access to resort. The building and condo is nothing fancy, but the condo itself was clean and comfortable. The fridge is indeed mini and many of our vegatables froze. There is no where to put groceries so keep it simple. All of the burners on the stove do not lay flat, so don't plan on cooking fancy meals. In the upstairs bedrooms, we could hear the people in the next room perfectly as if they were in the same room as us, luckily they weren't too noisy. The biggest issue we had was getting into the apartment. The electric lock did not work and we spent an hour trying to figure out how to get in. Finally we got the code to a lockbox that had a key. This is extra frustrating becuase other renters had the same issue and it was not fixed. Either bring a 9volt battery with you (who travels with that??) or call Vacasa and get the lockbox code before checking in.The heated pool was a nice surprise it was actually very warm, but the pool and the hot tub needed to be cleaned.
The location of this unit made getting to and from the slopes a breeze! There is a parking garage, heated pool, hot tub, all the necessary amenities, and is right by the Warm Springs lodge and chairlift. Shout-out to Wes for all the help!
1. When I get here I spent probably 15 minutes trying to put in the code to the pad lock to unlock it. Before I had to decided to go to the gas station and pick up a $10 v9 battery to get it to work. Which it seemed like this was something Vacasa was already aware of because in the email it warned me I might have to do this. This is an issue people have already complained about, clearly, so it should be time to get a new padlock/key pad. 2. Once I got that unlocked I realized the lock on the knob was locked. Which from the email it made it seem like it should have been unlocked. I did notice a lockbox on the frame of the door and decided to try the password from the keypad above in that. Which it did not work so I had to contact the support line and after spending about 30 minutes of trying to get it open/on hold with the support line. I got the correct code to open it up. I feel like the code to that should have been included in the email I was given because that would have made my life so much less stressful! 3. For this next one theres a couple of things that need to be addressed first the first thing is if I had came with my family like intended, or even with my friends this probably wouldn’t have bothered me, however I didn’t come with my family or friends, I came alone. The other thing is I’m a 5’4, 110 lbs, 20 year old, female, and on top of that I look very young. Therefore when I travel I want to feel very safe especially in the place I’m staying. However when I got here and started exploring upstairs I noticed there was a door in the bedroom at the top of the stairs. I open it up and found it goes to the hallway upstairs, where all the other rooms have matching doors like this one. On the door there was a knob to get out of the room but there was not a knob to get into the room from the hallway. Which made me feel a little better but there was no lock on this door at all. Which made me feel very uncomfortable. Doors are not impossible to open without a knob, if someone really wanted to get in that door would be the easiest to get into. It made me feel very uncomfortable and unsafe therefore I didn’t sleep upstairs the entire time I was here. I just didn’t feel safe up there. Adding some kind of locking mechanism to that door would have made me feel so much better and much safer. 4. The door to the balcony was also not locked when I arrived. It looked like someone had meant to lock it but just didn’t do it fully. Which happens and isn’t the biggest deal but that also made me feel uncomfortable and so when I discovered that I went through the whole apartment and checked under all the beds and closets to make sure no one was there. (Thankfully no one was) and since it was on the second floor I didn’t think I would find anything but it still freaked me out. There was a lot of cleanliness things that were wrong/strange it was left that way but I can’t fit that in. CONTINUED IN PRIVATE REVIEW
Great place if you only plan to sleep, ski, and watch tv. Were in town for work, trying to budget, and this place was not a good fit. Zero airflow upstairs (we ended up purchasing box fans), major sink draining issues. Bathroom was nicely remodeled. Lots of spare blankets.
Great location, especially during the winter months if you plan on skiing. Lots of outdoor activities and everyone is very friendly!
Although it was warm while we were there and the property could use a few more fans we really enjoyed our stay. It is an old hotel that makes it unique. There is a room on the second floor and one on the third floor connected by a small staircase inside. My 11 year old son loved sleeping in the bunk beds. He also loved how unique it was. You are as close to the ski resort as you can get. We were there in the summer so we liked going on hikes on the resort. You are also very close to fishing and bike trails. I would definitely recommend it even though it was very hot during our stay. It is not normally mid 90's in Sun Valley.
This condo unit could not be more conveniently located for a family ski vacation. The unit has a very European feel to it- small, efficient, comfortable. The deck looks directly at the Warm Springs lodge, and the heated pool for guests. Not sure what we loved more- the skiing or post-ski swimming (if swimming, bring your own towels so as not to use the towels provided in the bathroom for showering). The kitchen is small, and minimally appointed, but that suited us fine to make coffee in the morning. We hadn’t planned to make meals in the unit, but if we had, there were the basics (except a cutting board?) to make simple meals. The unit has beds for 6, but that would have been a tight fit. The bunk beds didn’t have railings, so we opted to have our 5 and 7 yr old kids sleep upstairs in one of the queen beds. The bed in the enclosed room was really comfortable. The bed in the adjacent room- not so much. An upgraded mattress would be a worthwhile investment. Heads up to families with small kids, or older guests- the stairs are narrow and steep (think loft ladder/stairs, circa 1970). We were fine with it, but could see other family arrangements who may find the stairs a little treacherous. Overall- the condo and the condo complex are a great find and we would recommend it to our friends. The condo was clean, comfortably appointed, and convenient.
