Silver Sands 1BR – Gulfside Comfort #255 by RVA

Ok so I had a family emergency the day I had to check in...I cannot say or share my experience...I never checked in or stayed...I asked for credit or a refund but got denied...its not the hotel's fault, they have rules they go by...I payed top dollar for a room the that I never stayed in, money lost on my behalf...Oh well...the front desk lady over the phone was very nice...I can't say anything else since I did not have experience with the property, hotel or room.

Very Pleased overall with this property. Check In was easy and staff was very polite and helpful. The grounds were well kept and the pool was clean with great seating. The room was clean and was perfect for the 2 of us. Comfortable bed and nice seating area and could see the ocean and pool from the Lanai. The parking can be tight if there are several vehicles in the lot. The washer and dryer for the complex is outside but under roof.

It was fine; I’m just a bit spoiled. An older property but well maintained. Bed was comfortable. LR TV very small. Unusable closet stuffed with bulk. Tiny bathroom, light bulb missing, no batteries in remote, plastic upright chairs for lanai. But great location on the island. Good front desk customer service.

I was not happy overall with my stay at ALL. The pool was closed for 4 days of our trip. On the last night we stayed we came across cockroaches in our room and I had called the manger and he was not helpful at all. I do not want to stay at a place that advertised a pool when it wasn’t open our whole stay. I do not appreciate nothing being done about having cockroaches in our room very gross.

The beach is only steps away and not crowded like the public beaches. We saw so many amazing things this year. Dolphins, crabs, a manatee and even a sea turtle! The pool and mini putt are a great break from the beach. Our only complaint is the pull out bed was quite rough to sleep on and the hot water had a musty smell. Overall we love it here and will return!

The sliding door out to the patio was almost unusable. I could not open it myself. I had to have my husband open it for me. I would’ve spent more time out on the patio if the door was easier to open it really should be replaced. The furniture seemed a bit icky, unidentifiable stains on the couch, so we covered the furniture with sheets during our stay. Other than that, everything else was good. well stocked kitchen working appliances great location, we will return.

It had most everything we needed, maybe could use a few more kitchen items, but we got by. The living room needs a better reading lamp, but the furniture was comfortable, and the TV setup was nice. The beach access is the best thing about this resort. The complex was pretty quiet, and the pool was never very busy.

Reviewer Comments: We have always visited the resort in the past which seemed to always be very family friendly and relaxing. I realize there will always be some music and a variety of people but this time there was a HUGE group partying all weekend which made our experience not as pleasant as previous years. They took up most of the beach with their tents and we could hear music late at night from our room. They were grilling and in the pool late and made it uncomfortable and when I say HUGE I am talking like 30 people! Although we made the best of the weekend and still met a great other family, it might be time to find another place to stay on Longboat Key.

Didn't like thst the enterence to the unit is through the only bedroom that then leads to the rest of the unit. Bathroom is small and needs better cleaning, furniture is wicker and full of dust , had to call on a prescription for an for my husband's inhaler. Opened the fold out couch and disturbed the sleeping roach mattress cover was discussing and children's toys found under the mattress.went to walmart abd purchased an air mattress.the only storage closet in unit was full of random items and ironing board and iron just thrown in it.unable to utilize it for bags and suitcases for 4 guests. Didn't even attempt to use public washers or dryers. The price yoy pay for this place is only because it's on the same side of the street as the gulf
