WHAT GUESTS ARE SAYING

Traveling with extended family or a larger group We also manage units #108 and #113 right here in the same building. Combined, the three units sleep up to 12 and sit side by side on the ground floor. Reach out before booking, and we can see about lining up the dates for you.

Northern Michigan golf and ski weekends book fast, especially at a resort like Shanty Creek. If the dates work, lock them in.

Guest Access:

Feel at home with full access to the condo — private bedroom, equipped kitchen area, living area, and full bathroom. Resort amenities, including indoor and outdoor pools and Lake Bellaire access, are available during your stay. Tee times and lift tickets are booked separately through Shanty Creek. You'll receive a unique keyless access code 72 hours before your arrival date.

The Neighborhood:

Shanty Creek sits in the heart of Antrim County in northern Michigan — one of the most scenically and recreationally rich corners of the Lower Peninsula. The resort itself is 5,500 acres, so there's no shortage of space. But what's around it is just as strong.

DOWNTOWN BELLAIRE — 5 MINUTES

A genuine northern Michigan small town with local shops, restaurants, and one of Michigan's best craft breweries. Short's Brewing is the anchor, but the downtown strip has everything you need for a relaxed evening out. The Grass River Natural Area is just outside town — one of the most quietly impressive nature preserves in the region, with a floating boardwalk trail through wetlands and old-growth forest.

TORCH LAKE — 15 MINUTES

Named one of the top ten most beautiful lakes in the world by National Geographic. Electric blue water, white sand sandbars, and a sandbar scene in summer that draws visitors from across the Midwest. Easy to spend an entire day on the water and still feel like you barely scratched the surface. In every season, worth the fifteen-minute drive.

CHAIN OF LAKES — 15 TO 20 MINUTES

Elk Lake, Clam Lake, Torch Lake, Lake Bellaire, Intermediate Lake, and Grass Lake — all connected. Some of the best boating, kayaking, and paddleboarding in northern Michigan, with Torch at the southern end as the crown jewel.

GLACIAL HILLS TRAIL SYSTEM — 10 MINUTES

Over 32 miles of single track trail through the hills of Antrim County. Mountain bikers, trail runners, and hikers come from across Michigan specifically for Glacial Hills. The terrain is genuine — not groomed flat paths — and the views from the ridges are the kind guests mention in their reviews.

GRASS RIVER NATURAL AREA — 10 MINUTES

A 1,350-acre natural area with floating boardwalk trails through cedar swamps, beaver ponds, and wetland habitat. One of the most peaceful walks in northern Michigan and a legitimate wildlife corridor — great birding in every season.

ELK RAPIDS — 20 MINUTES

A small harbor town on Lake Michigan's Grand Traverse Bay. Worth the drive in summer for the beach, the marina, and the dining along the water.

After booking, you'll receive access to the One Destination Properties Guest Boarding Pass — your curated guide to the best dining, activities, and local favorites in northern Michigan, updated every season.

Getting Around:

We've put together a digital Guest Boarding Pass with our favorite dining, bars, hiking, golf, and activities across northern Michigan — you'll receive access after booking. Resort amenities are walkable from the condo. Downtown Bellaire is five minutes. Torch Lake is fifteen. A car is recommended for exploring the Chain of Lakes region and surrounding area.

The room was nicely renovated. The king bed was comfortable and had an additional sofa and chair for seating. Small table with chairs for eating as well. Had a fireplace which would be amazing in a chilly night. Was right next to the pool which was great without having to travel to the main lodge. Would definitely book again.

This is our second time staying here. First time since the remodel and we thought it was a really nice upgrade! The room could use hooks to hang coats, but that's minor. We would stay again!

Nice country setting although we are not golfers, it was nice staying away from the city. The room was clean, access to pool although we didn't use it. Two items to note - the AC worked but the humidity in the room (was only 70s these two days) was as if the system was not draining properly so it was musty. The other item is the big bottles of shampoo and conditioner in the shower for all to use instead of small individual ones which for us is a hygiene matter, it was okay we had our own. Overall, we would stay there again. One last feedback, the address does not reflect correctly on maps, sooo Look for Legend Cottage if that is where you stay or the map sends you to another hotel. Thank you
