Stayed Aug 9, 2025Wonderful unit - spacious, well divided and really well furnished - we had rented two units for 8 people total (including 3 kids) and we spent two nights the 8 of us in that unit without stepping on each other”s toes - fully equipped kitchen, convenient in-unit washer / dryer and even some board games to pass the time during the rainier Hurricane-Erin-induced weather. It was our first time at Sea Colony and I would definitely rent this unit again.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My family has been vacationing at Sea Colony with family for 10 years and until this past stay, really loved it without any complaint. However, that changed this summer. It started in November when we were told by Vacasa that the unit we normally rent was being cancelled. To their credit, they assisted us in finding us a new, comparable unit. However, when we arrived last week, we were shocked at the condition of this unit, especially given that it falls within the same rate range as our prior unit that we were very satisfied with. When we arrived, we noticed stained rugs and furniture, a broken pane of glass in one of the front windows, a missing bar stool, several worn and broken dining room chairs, broken closet doors and a broken faucet. Maintenance fixed the closet doors immediately and returned a few days later to fix the faucet, but what remained was a very worn, shoddy unit that did not, in any way, match the price that we paid for the week. To make matters worse, the unit advertises that it sleeps 6- presumably because it has a sleeper couch. However, this is entirely misleading because the sleeper is completely unusable. Bolts are missing and the mattress and frame are so worn making it totally unusable. Last, it was clear that Sea Colony experienced a staffing shortage this summer, which is understandable- however, it was also clear that shortage extended to the lifeguards, with noticeably fewer lifeguard stations as compared to every prior summer. This jeopardizes the health and safety of the guests and opens Vacasa to serious liability. Our experience was not enjoyable this summer and so we are reconsidering our annual tradition and may opt to find something new, especially given the extraordinary rate hikes imposed by Vacasa for next summer. A quick purview of several units revealed astronomical reservation fees and an almost 60% rate increase from the prior year. Not worth the money given the condition of the unit we stayed in.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969I was surprised at how worn & dingy everything in the unit was. Every fixture, piece of furniture & appliance was dated & had some sort of malfunction or felt like it would soon break (and a few things did - we were not being careless!) The proximity to the beach & the views were great, however based on many other rental experiences at similar places, I can’t say it was worth what we paid. I hope that other units in this building are better maintained. Maybe we just got an unusually bad one.

Stayed May 20, 2021This place was clean and so well taken care of. The furniture is a little outdated but still cozy. The view is exceptional and really outweighs everything.

Stayed Sep 27, 2020The location, amenities and view are really what saved this vacation. Walked into filthy carpets (which I give kudos to Resort Realty for getting them cleaned Tuesday!) broken furniture, dirty Upholstered furniture, very dated, hole in wall, needed painting, shower stall dirty looked like it was original in one of the bathrooms, broken hook so no place to hang towels in one bathroom, exhaust fans And ceiling fans dusty, glass table so smeared it looked like it was cleaned with a dirty rag. We brought our own cleaning supplies and went over anything because of COVID anyway. Great TV and WiFi and beautiful balcony view of ocean. Beds were made upon arrival which was nice until we removed sheets to see gross stained pillows and mattress pad. Wouldn’t rent it again unless totally cleaned and updated, and would recommend more thorough inspection and cleaning by whoever does it.

Stayed Sep 3, 2020We had an amazing time. Sea Colony is a lovely place for families. The rental was great. Lots of space and great views. We would stay there again. The ONLY thing I think that needs to be changed in the rental would be the bedroom carpets need to be ripped up. They were a bit dingy, but otherwise great place! Thank you!!!

Stayed Aug 17, 2020The location is wonderful. This unit however, desperately needs updating. The glass by the front door is broken and there is a hole in the drywall. I called to report it upon check-in and I was told someone from maintenance would call me, I never heard from anyone in 5 days. The description stated a coffee pot was included and was missing upon check-in. I called about it on day 1 and was told that it’s up to the owner and there was nothing they could do. The couches and upholstered chairs are dirty and stained. The carpet in both bedrooms have multiple dark stains and needs to be replaced. Upon check-in it seemed the place hadn’t even been cleaned. The floor in the kitchen had sand all over it and a red film covered the kitchen counters. I used several Clorox wipes and it eventually came off. There’s no where to hang wet towels in the master bathroom. There’s a broken bracket on the wall where I suspect had been some type of hanger. This unit is incredibly overpriced but unfortunately as people keep renting it I suspect nothing will improve.

Stayed Jun 29, 2019Excellent location, furniture a bit dated, master bed a queen not king for a penthouse, very clean, easy beach access, parking for a second vehicle was almost impossible and should be noted when passes are purchased. Overall we enjoyed this location
