Anna Maria Island is the First Barrier Island south of Tampa Bay. Bradenton Beach is at the south end of the Island. To the west, The Gulf of Mexico offers miles of spectacular, uninterrupted sugar sand beaches and emerald waters. To the east, Anna Maria Sound, a mangrove lined bay, has calm docking and mooring areas, a municipal pier, boat launches, nature trails and the Florida Intracoastal Waterway.
Bradenton Beach is just an hour's drive from Tampa International Airport. The Sarasota/Bradenton Airport is sixteen miles to the east. Interstate 75 is forty minutes away. Access from the mainland, to the east (Bradenton) is by bridges on Cortez Road W (Rte 684) or Manatee Avenue W (Rte 64). From the south (Longboat Key) via the bridge over Longboat Pass. The Island is seven miles long and only a few blocks wide, providing the sounds and feel of the water wherever you are.
The condo has been completely renovated - even some walls were moved. The floors in the bedrooms are carpeted, the rest is 18 inch Italian Terra Rosa porcelain tile. Panel doors, over-sized baseboards and trim, recessed lighting and faux wall finishes contribute to the British-Colonial inspired decor. Gulf View is located directly on the Gulf of Mexico, at the west end of Historic Bridge Street. it is an oasis - a quiet, peaceful, comfortable space where you can relax and rejuvenate.
The open-concept living-dining area has two bamboo framed upholstered love seats, swivel barrel chairs so you can enjoy the sunsets, an entertainment center stocked with books, board games and a 42' Hi-Definition TV and DVD player. There is a variable speed ceiling fan. Sliding glass doors open to a screened-in balcony, overlooking the beach, which provides Gulf breezes, the sound of the surf, spectacular views of the water and each evening a beautiful and unique sunset. Watch the diving pelicans and, if you are lucky, catch a glimpse of a dolphin.
The dining area has a rattan glass topped table with six chairs. There is a pass-thru bar to the kitchen. The chandelier has a dimmer switch - for your mood lighting.
The kitchen was gutted and reconfigured. The wall between the kitchen and the dining room was raised with a pass-thru bar. Short upper cabinets with see-thru glass on both sides were installed over the bar. All new cabinets, appliances and counter tops were installed throughout. There is an east facing window with a top-down, bottom-up pleated shade enabling you to get light from the top while otherwise having total privacy. The kitchen is gourmet equipped with dishes, flatware, pots, pans, bake-ware, utensils and small appliances. Whether you want a cup of coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice or a full gourmet meal, whatever you need is there!.
The master bedroom has direct access to the balcony. A Cafe Au Lait color wicker bedroom suite has a king-size bed with a premium mattress, dresser and two night stands. There is a 37' HD TV, a DVD Player, a large walk-in closet with custom organizers, a variable speed ceiling fan and an en-suite bath.
Since #101 is an end unit, the second bedroom does not have windows on the catwalk. There is complete privacy. A south facing, outside wall window has a room darkening, top-down bottom/up custom shade. Outfitted with a white wicker suite, two twins beds with premium mattresses, a night stand, chest of drawers and dresser. It is decorated with beautiful linens, has a variable-speed ceiling fan and a wall-to-wall organized closet. The tub/shower full bath is one step from the bedroom door.
Both bathrooms have adult height vanities, handicapped height toilets, full width/height mirrors, exhaust fans and recessed lighting. Each has all new fixtures and was decorated to co-ordinate with its adjacent bedroom. The vanities have ample room with drawers and under-sink storage.
The screened-in balcony, which is directly on the Gulf of Mexico, runs across the front of the condo.. It is furnished with a table and four chairs; two mesh, hi-back swivel rockers and a side table. There are two ceiling fans. You have an unparalleled view of the Gulf of Mexico and a front row seat for the nightly show at sunset.
There is an in-unit full sized washer and dryer. The unit has its own central air conditioner and furnace with thermostat that you can set to your comfort level. The keyless entry door has a separate all wood louvered screen door with a lock. You can enjoy cross ventilation with security and complete privacy. This is a secured building with a key-pad entry door. There are two assigned parking spots under the building. Free Wi-Fi.
Anna Maria Island provides a daily free trolley that runs every 20 minutes from 6:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. from the Anna Maria City Pier on the north to Coquina Beach on the south. Trolleys offer both air conditioned and open-air seating. The trolley stop is in front of the building.
A convenience grocery store is directly across the street. A Supermarket, (Publix), is about 7 minutes north - it is reachable by trolley as are most restaurants and shops on the island. You also have the option of ordering online and having your groceries delivered to your door. There are ten restaurants and two premium ice cream shops within a few blocks walk of the condo. No need for a car.
Beach chairs, umbrella, toys and rafts are provided. There is parasailing, jet-skiing, yoga on the beach and many other activities nearby. Get in the car and drive a short distance to golf, theaters, malls, botanic gardens, art galleries and more.
Shopping at Armands Circle. Art fairs and community special events happening all the time. One block to public fishing pier.
Nearby attractions include Ringling Museum of Art, Selby Botanical Gardens, Disney World, Epcot, and Sea World to name a few.

Location to so much! Great beach access and views from room. Rooms were all very adequate but when at condo we were usually on deck. Would recommend 4 chairs for deck vs 2 and table with 4 small chairs. Will be back for sure!!
This condo is a treasure! Fresh, clean, newly renovated. So comfortable and easy. Bright with spectacular views of the Gulf. Over sized screened-in balcony with comfy seating and dining table has sliding doors to living room and master bedroom. Fully equipped, spotless kitchen. Literally steps away from bars with live music, restaurants, and a convenience store. Lovely 3 mile walking/running path along the gulf begins less than a block away. Heated pool on the gulf is right outside and since the building only has about 10 units, it's never crowded. Sunset views are spectacular. Both bathrooms are spacious. Laundry in the unit. Favorite things about this unit: 1) beachfront property. Need I say more? 3) CLEAN and fresh; 3) walkability - you do not need to get in the car! 4) covered, easy, reserved parking in small (non high rise!) building provides easy access; and 5) location is perfect for the days when you do want to take a ride around Anna Marie Island or down to close-by Sarasota. We can't wait to return and will try to stay longer next time.
My husband and I stayed here and while the weather was on the cool side, we had a great time. We could watch the sunsets right from the comfort of the living room even when it was too cold to stand on the beach. The pool was heated nicely and we did enjoy sitting in the sun there. The apartment itself was furnished with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Great artwork, lots of books, comfortable furnishings. Parking under the building works well and it's a short walk to the Coquina Beach Park area. Bridge Street restaurants and shops were a very short walk across the street but the building is well insulated from the busy-ness. All in all, a great vacation!
First time on AMI. This is excellent locatation. Walking distance from shops and restaurants. There are nice open-air bars also with live music and good eats, we were there at Christmas and had an excellent meal at the Bistro across the street, then went downstairs for live music and drinks. A night to remember!! The view and beach is great and not crowded. A nice park is also within walking distance if you have pets (no pets on the beach). Condo was everything I expected with no disappointments. Condo owner contacted me before, during, and after to make sure all was well, she is very nice!!
Small condo complex on beach, nice pool and close to restaurants for evening sunset dinners. On site parking is a plus. Great beach area. Nice condo unit, 2 full baths and nice patio deck overlooking pool and beach!
Excellent location on the beach. Great weather and very nice condo. Close to everything. Step out the front door and trolley stop right there. Condo was large and the beds were very comfortable. Lost of closet space. We enjoyed the ocean views and the nightly sunsets. Would stay here again.
The location was accurate but the photos did not reflect the rental's appearance. The cushions on sofa were soiled and I had to wash them before we could sit in them. The pool area was old and cement blocks were a hazard as you walked through to beach. We could not talk to owner about these problems as it was managed by others. I would never recommend this property even though the beach and location was good.
My wife and I had a great holiday while staying in this beautiful beach front condo. Every evening we enjoyed the beautiful sun from our deck as it set over the Gulf. In the morning we made use of the heated pool before going for a walk on the beaches of AMI. We have been travelling for our vacation at AMI for each of the last ten years staying in various condos. We truly appreciated the quality of this accommodation which made our stay a pleasure.
My wife said we would never find the Perfect Condo on the beach. Fortunately for us, I found it! Right here at Miss Shirley's wonderful beachfront condo on beautiful, clean, unspoiled Anna Maria Island! This Christmas was our first stay here on AMI and we have decided to make this place our new beach destination! The home is lovely and spacious and the ocean view is unbeatable .. but I'll let you read all about that stuff in the other glowing reviews. Let me tell you a story which will convince you to book this 5-star condo! Over the last 30 years we've stayed at some pretty nice beach homes. A sincere owner and a customer service-minded property manager can make a vacation stay memorable. We arrived to find the dishwasher had a small leak. We contacted the management company and they immediately took ownership of the problem. These things are bound to happen to any home and they had a couple of repairmen out there the next day. When management contacted Miss Shirley, the owner, she called us and told us she was having a new dishwasher installed as soon as possible..and she did! Miss Shirley then called us back to make sure we were happy with the new appliance and told us to be sure and call her directly if we had any more problems. The ladies at the management company also touched base with us to be sure everything worked out okay. We didn't, however, call Miss Shirley or the managers back because the remainder of our stay was perfectly heavenly. On the morning of our departure, a very nice gentleman (who worked for the management company) noticed us carrying our luggage to our car. With a smile, he stopped what he was doing and helped us carry our bags down the stairs and then, politely but firmly, refused our tip for his good deed. One can find a pretty place on the beach..just about anywhere. To find an outstanding, Old Florida beachfront environment..one needs to go to Anna Maria Island. To secure the old-fashioned type of customer service and genuine care that is so hard to find today..one needs to rent Miss Shirley's beautiful, comfortable, oceanfront home and enjoy the services of her fine management company. We can't wait to go back and pick up where we left off!!!
We spent a week in this unit during the later part of the holidays and it was wonderful ! Being right on the beach with outstanding views from any part of the condo makes this location ideal ! The unit is well furnished and very well kept with everything you need for a relaxing time in paradise ! The Bridge Street activity was fun and you only hear it if you want to. The pool is nice and warm and relaxing if you don't feel like ocean swimming. Lots to do in this area and we could easily stay a month and never get bored ! Shirley, the owner, was so nice and helpful and cares a lot about your experience and even called us after our stay to be sure everything was OK. That's the difference in using VRBO ! You really feel connected to the owner and can ask anything about the area/unit to get the real scoop !
Such a nice property! Many restaurants with all cuisines and prices within walking distance. Live music right across the street, but quiet beachside views and walks made for a perfect combination. Clean, comfortable, well maintained and nicely decorated with a well equiped kitchen. The pool was clean and the temp perfect. The market on Bridge Street on Sundays was fun. I've been to several beach locations in FL. This is my new favorite. The owner, Shirley, is very nice and helpful. Love, love, loved it!! Can't wait to come back!
