Panoramic Rockaway Beach Views From This Beautifully Appointed Oceanfront Condo!

The location was amazing. The view and access the beach were the big draw for us. We had issues with cleanliness when we arrived and the internet/wifi didn’t work for the length of our stay. Management offered to out in a maintenance request, but we ended up declining the offer since it would have happened while we were in the room and/or napping.

We enjoyed our stay at the Rockaway Beach condo. Our main purpose was the ocean view and the beach which was steps from our deck, down a sandy dune to the beach. Perfect! Everything was very clean and neat. Our only disappointment was that the weather was cool and rainy (typical early October) but the fireplace was wood burning, which we had not noticed in the listing and the thought of looking for both wood and kindling so we could have a fire seemed like more effort than it was worth. I wish I had noticed that so we could have looked for those on our way to the condo. It mentions it in the listing, but I wanted to also point out the bathroom is downstairs, the bedroom upstairs so if you need to make nighttime trips to the bathroom, be aware of that. We brought our own food since there is a fully equipped kitchen, but bring your own seasoning and oil since the only thing there is salt, maybe pepper. There was also an electric car charger which we used for our plug-in hybrid so that was a plus. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and especially the wonderful access to the ocean beach!

Chose this property due to the location right on the beach, the view, and covered porch which did not disappoint! Communication with host was good and check-in/out processes were smooth and straightforward. Condo is the perfect size for 1-2 people with well-stocked kitchen items. There is some mild staging in the photos of the listing (Deck furniture, bedding, bathroom), but still an comfortable space as advertised. Enjoyed my stay and would choose to rent again in a heartbeat!

Unfortunately I cannot recommend renting through Meredith Lodging. When we checked in the upstairs bedroom had a foul smell (smelled like someone vomited on the rug and then tried to take the smell away with a carpet deodorizer). We contacted Meredith (by then it was early evening) and they informed us that they would send someone next day to check on room. My wife and I (both in mid 70’s) slept on fold out couch that night in living room. The next morning the Meredith representative recognized the problem right away and then later contacted us with alternative place to stay which was smaller, not on the beach and cheaper to rent (approximately 350 cheaper for the last 3 nights of our original stay). We accepted the the 2nd place but I requested that Meredith refund us 350 difference for the two places. I contacted Meredith 3 days in a row by phone and text and each time they responded they were reviewing my request and would get back to me. Finally, 6 days after my initial request Meredith informed me they would not refund us the 350. I’ve used VRBO for many years and never had a problem with where we stayed or dealing with the host or management company. From my perspective, Meredith rented us a condo that was unfit (I have to believe the cleaning crew tried to cover up the smell with a carpet deodorizer) and then wouldn’t return the difference between the cost of the two rentals. Very poor customer relations.

Property was nice and fairly clean. I could see areas where things hadn't been done (hair left in drains/on toilet seat). The furniture was not moved back in position from the previous guests. The coffee table was behind the love seat against the wall. I'm guessing that was to accommodate the sofa bed. But we wanted to use it and it was extremely heavy to move back into its location. More of an annoyance than anything but it clearly states furniture needs to be returned at check out. Neither the previous guests or housekeeping staff did that. Location was nice and beach front. I wish it was a bit closer to restaurants/downtown but it is near the mini mart. The bedroom is upstairs and very very small. It barely fit our pack and play and we had to climb over the bed to get in with the pack and play on one side. Just a heads up for guests with young children. Kitchen seemed to be well supplied with appliances and kitchen gadgets. We appreciated the pizza cutter and can opener! They only give one extra garbage bag which could be difficult if you are staying for more than a few days. The kitchen trash was pretty small and filled up quickly. Overall we did like it and would stay again. We did think it was a little spendy for not being super clean and having all the furniture out of position. But it got our family to the beach for a few days and the memories we made were great!

We had a great time! We were steps from the beach and close to things in town. The only complaint I would have is that we could clearly hear the people in the unit above us moving around.

Close access to beautiful open beach, not to crowded and a very quiet area. Perfect get away with a clean stay.

Spent 2 nights to celebrate anniversary. The place was clean and comfortable. We kept the back door open when we were in the condo to hear the waves. There was an easy access to the beach one house over at the corner. The beach was beautiful. It wasn't very crowded when we went. I think we will be back. The town is small. We went to see the big tree and that was a nice easy boardwalk trail. If I had to say something bad, there is a sign in the condo saying Relax, you are on beach time. My relax is not waking up and leaving by 10 am.

We had a wonderful time at this property. Centrally located to town and nicely appointed condo. Clean and quiet. Be aware that the bedroom is up a very skinny set of stairs and is very small- basically just room for the bed and no bathroom upstairs. That being said we loved being able to sit on the sofa and watch the waves. Would definitely recommend for a couple.

This rental is everything we wanted. Great location, clean, ocean view, well stocked with kitchen appliances, and comfy atmosphere. We would stay here again!

Great location. Condo was a little weirdly layed out and the furniture in the dining area was in disrepair. We didnt have any extra garbage bags in the unit so we called for more. They said they would be delivered but never were. Didn't seem like support was local.

We had a fabulous, wonderful time. The views are spectacular. The beach just steps outside. Whether the weather was sunny or misty, it was perfect. We took some fantastic photos. The property was very clean and exactly as described as to features and amenities. We read the previous reviews and were prepared for the issues illuminated there. It was just 2 of us and we had a memorable vacation.

We were very happy with our stay here! The location is excellent! You have to be a bit careful when booking in Rockaway Beach because some beachfront places have a sand dune between the house and the actual beach. Meaning that you have beach access, but you can't see the beach from the property. But this was perfect! Even though it was ground level, we had a glorious view from inside and from the deck, and had direct access to the beach. The property sits a bit above the beach, and there are free-form rocky/sandy steps going down to the beach itself. They were OK enough for us retirees to navigate, but folks with mobility issues could be challenged (and it wouldn't work for a wheelchair, walker, stroller, etc). The unit itself was very nice - nicely furnished, modern appointments in kitchen and bathroom (ample towels). A nice assortment of cooking and eating implements were supplied The coffee maker is a Mr. Coffee drip style, and they did supply filters (but no coffee). There was a small bottle of vegetable oil (thank you!) and salt and pepper. Other than that - bring your own cooking ingredients, seasonings, coffee, etc. I really appreciated the wall of windows/glass door going out to the deck from the living/great room area. A very open feel with the great view. As mentioned by others, the upstairs bedroom was small, and faced the beach. The unit worked for us - two couples who get along well, although it would be *cozy* if they didn't! We'll return!
