Our experience at the condo was so-so. When we arrived thirty minutes after check in, the cleaning ladies were still there. So we decided to swing by the grocery store. When we got back the fire alarm was going off. (No fault of the host) We had to wait in the lobby until the fireman showed up. Once we finally got into our room we noticed a lot of issues. The master bedroom had no door which meant no privacy, toilet looked gross, the dish washer looked like it was kicked in, some of the dishes were dirty, hand soaps weren’t refilled and the AC took a long time to kick in. I did call about the door and they said a previous guest broke it and they would send maintenance over the next day. Maintenance never showed up. Oh and the WiFi is terrible. The only pros I would give is the location and pool. If you’re just looking for a place to sleep then it’s fine.

I picked this unit because property is close walk to beach. This was important because we had 1 toddler and 1 infant to get back and forth to beach. This part worked out very well. The unit, however, was a disappointment. The biggest problem was no shade/covering over sliding glass door in dining room. This was a problem because a flood light shown in through that door from sunset to sunrise, giving little privacy. Worse, the sliding louvered doors that give privacy to the master bedroom were broken, so no privacy AND the flood lights shown in there all night as well. This was noted by another reviewer, but apparently never fixed. The condo has a nice view of the ocean, which we enjoyed after my husband and I cleaned the six (or so) patio floor-to- ceiling windows (just how I wanted to start my vacation). I know sand and salt are an issue so close to the beach, but these windows hadn't been cleaned in some time. They did stay clean for the 6 days we were there, and we enjoyed the view immensely! Other items in disrepair include: 1) shade in bedroom with king bed didn't raise/lower; 2) exhaust fan in master bath worked but was hanging out of wall; 3) dishwasher had 3 inches of water in the bottom of it that I didn't find until third day I was there [I was hand washing dishes as there are only 7 dinner plates and 6 salad plates (in a condo that accommodates up to 8 people), so easier to wash by hand--I can say there were plenty of drinking glasses]. When I did find the water in the bottom of the dishwasher, it smelled very foul! I contacted Criss in customer service first thing the next morning (Saturday) about all of these items. She returned my call after 2 hours saying she would talk to maintenance. On Monday, a curtain was finally placed over the dining room sliding doors, and louvered doors to master bedroom were repaired. The dishwasher was repaired the next day after I reported, so faster response here. Other items needing attention (shade in king bedroom and fan in master bath weren't repaired during our stay). Final comment, the white tile floors in the condo are beautiful, but the area rug and sofa in the living room were quite stained, giving the impression of an overall lack of cleanliness. Sea Vista pool was clean with plenty of chairs, but pool fountain needs some repair. In all, I would not rent this particular unit again, but would rent a unit along beach front that doesn't look out over unsightly pump house.

The Master Bedroom at all other properties we've stayed at has been the larger bedroom with the attached private bathroom. That is NOT the case with this particular condo. The bedroom with the private bath is an odd room with almost no privacy. It has two queen size beds crammed into it so tightly that there's barely room to walk, and with only louvered sliding closet doors to separate this bedroom from the dining/living/kitchen areas, it had absolutely no privacy at all. As we were vacatioing with another couple who have children, it was not a great setup for us at all, and meant that people basically had to stay in their bedrooms until the couple sleeping in the room off the dining are were awake and no longer needed privacy. Lastly, provide blinds for this bedroom off the dining area that actually darken the room. With the louvered doors and the inability to darken the dining room, we had the tennis court/Schlitterbahn floodlights lighting up the room all night long. Loved the property overall, loved the beach. We love SPI. But we probably won't rent this condo again...

We enjoyed a 3 night stay on the President's Day weekend. Condo is in a very nice location just south of the causeway and next to the Schlitterbahn park. Beach access was easy, The Schlitterbahn beach bar is right next door as is a concession to rent beach chairs and umbrellas. Condo was clean, up-to-date and even though not directly facing the beach, had a patio with a very nice unobstructed view of beach. Criss with the rental agency is awesome. Helped us when we got lost and answered the phone at 11:00 PM when we discovered that the water was turned off. She know exactly how to fix it. Building, including the elevators was exceptionally well maintained. Parking was convenient and the security guard very friendly. Highly recommend this condo and the Sea Vista complex. Can't wait to go back.

All was good except a very stinky dishwasher. The rental agency were trying to clean, wash, etc but it is just time for this dishwasher to be replaced by the owner. Do not attempt to start/use it as it will fill the entire condo with a very stinky rotten smell and it will take at least 20 hours to get rid of it. We ended just not using it. So, double check and double confirm that the dishwasher is replaced (not cleaned but actually replaced and plumbing redone - as I suspect this is a sewer gas escapes into the dishwasher) before you book. Once this issue is fixed - it is indeed 5 stars property and the team.

After a reservation of mine was accidentally canceled by booking.com without my recollection, I was contacted by an owner Andy to stay at Sea Vista at 2:00am! Boy am I happy he called us! He directed us to the property over the phone (@ 2 am), and we were in our room 20 min. Later. Awesome condos. Great beach access. Very clean, fully funished, comfortable beds, nice stove, refrigerator, clean pool, balcony, and jacuzzi, many more amenities and perks. Thanks so much Andy! I look forward to staying here again next year. At this time they are booked for next year:( I pray something comes becomes available. Beverly Davis

Location was great, easy access to the beach and all the great restaurants and bars. The condo was clean, and stocked with beach chairs, umbrellas, and water toys for the kids. The view was great as well. It was quiet and relaxing. Definitely coming back.

5 stars all around for Sea Vista #422. From the security of the gated parking lot to the fantastic beach access via a short boardwalk, the Sea Vista is a great property with a location both convenient to the beach and all the attractions of South Padre. 422 is a 3/2 with large rooms and a full kitchen, large dining table. There is a washer and dryer as well. The condo is equipped with all the creature comforts of home including microwave, coffee maker, pots, pans and cookware. New flat screen TVs with cable. Comfortable beds and furniture. Large balcony that looks out to the gulf as well as a smaller balcony that looks over the pool. The condo has modern decor, different from the typical beach decorations you see in most condos ethic we thought was neat. Overall, the property and condo was so much more than we expected. We have been to South Padre annually for vacation for the last several years and have stayed in many properties on the island, I can definitely say that Sea Vista 422 is by far the best location we have stayed at yet! We will be returning and would HIGHLY recommend!! Special thanks to Criss for all her help and quick responses.
