Oceanview Retreat on Sandy Beach at the Sea

I am giving the overall rating a 3 because of the check in process and lack of response from the property manager. The check in process was terrible! I had exchanged messages with the property manager prior to booking asking for an early check in (I would not have booked if they said no) and they said yes it’s likely as long as no one is checking out the day we check in and at that time no one was. I then receive a text 2 days before leaving with check in information saying I would receive a code the day of check in. The day of check in, the property manager text asking me to confirm I received the previous text and I told them what our time of arrival would be. I heard nothing back so assumed we were good to check in. I arrived to the resort and still had no text with a code to check in. I sent multiple messages on text and VRBO to the property manager with no response for almost 4 hours. I found a “check in code” in one of the emails I received so decided to try that. It worked and I got in the room, but it was dirty from previous renters. I still had not heard back from the property manager and the front desk could not assist as any VRBO rentals are out of their control. I finally hear back from the property manager after telling them what happened and they said they would have it cleaned, but the maids are busy. I will not be renting again as the communication was so poor on the day of check in and created unnecessary stress and confusion.
