Nice spacious spot in a nice quite area over looking a lake

It took us 10 minutes to find the front door. I had to call the owner twice. It was in the back of the apartment complex facing the woods. The light over the doorway was out and it was too dark to see the entrance to the apartment. We walked in and walked out immediately in tears. We ended up in a hotel. There is NO furniture in the living room or dining area. I do not mean limited furniture, I mean NO furniture and no TV. The picture of the fireplace that is used in the advertisement....that is ALL that was in the living room. The carpet throughout was stained and smelled awful. There was a TV's in each bedroom. One on the floor (yes, literally sitting on the floor). One bedroom had an inflatable mattress for the bed and the TV on the floor, nothing else. Second bedroom had a regular bed and a TV on a small dresser. When I called the owner, I was told the prior renters has ruined the furniture and new furniture had been ordered. I was actually asked if I could manage without furniture during our stay. The smoke detector kept beeping and, because there was no furniture, there was not even the option of stepping up on a chair to disconnect it. Owner's response: Yeah, it does that. The ultimate..in the bathroom there was a well-used hookah pipe left for us....with lots of misc. tobacco and other stuff. All of the prior renter's (?) bathroom misc. was also still spread out in the bathroom. You can't make this stuff up....I have pictures. The owner told me for over a week he was trying to figure out how to process a refund. A week. I am now disputing the charge with my credit card company and VRBO. DO NOT STAY HERE.
