Nestled in the deep forest, high above Whistler Creekside, sits the slopeside Taluswood complex. Known for its quiet, “close to nature” location, Taluswood offers guests convenient access to the slopes of Whistler Mountain and the Creekside Gondola with a ski in/out trail located across the street. Ski access is via the Dave Murray Downhill, the official downhill ski venue of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. Access is condition dependent and is typically skiable from mid-December through to late-March.

Taluswood #9 is a ground floor, one level property and its décor has a distinct Whistler Ski Cabin feel with post and beam construction and wooden accents throughout. This stylish vacation rental is very well outfitted and features most of the conveniences of home including a fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, wood burning fireplace, flatscreen television, radiant heated flooring and a wraparound balcony with patio furniture and a BBQ. The master bedroom houses a Queen-sized bed and has an ensuite bathroom with jetted soaker tub. The second bedroom has twin beds. Guests will also enjoy the private garage perfect for securely storing bikes and ski gear after a long day spent in the Whistler wilderness.

Taluswood guests also have access to a common area, seasonal heated pool and year-round hot tub located a quick walk away.

    My complaint is that some of the kitchen appliances didn’t work, like the blender, and there weren’t any spices, not even salt and pepper. There is only parking for one car, the ford explorer we rented barely fit in the garage. Overflow parking is extremely limited and would have been non existent if there was more snow. Location is good but not walkable.

    This place is set up nicely and has all the kitchen utensils that one could need. The heated floors are lovely. Disappointing is we were not informed the heated pool was frozen over. The directions for ski in/ ski out are not clear and are not suitable for a beginner skier. The obtaining of the keys for access are not convenient. Should consider placing a keypad for easier access for renters rather than having to drive all the way to whistler village for pick up and drop off. Overall a pleasant place to stay and host is attentive.

    We enjoyed our stay. Condo was very clean and beds were comfortable. The living room has a lovely view and there is a nice deck, which we did not use due to the season (winter). The kitchen is well stocked with all cooking utensil. If you plan to cook, do bring ALL ingredients including salt. Hot tub is a nice touch although it’s about a 4 minute walk, so bring appropriate clothing. Finally, this was the first time we had a garage within which to park and that was great!

    Very modern, clean, spacious, comfortable condo. Quiet location. We especially enjoyed the single car garage for secure bike storage. Management staff were excellent to deal with. Will definitely stay at this unit again.

    Property was spotless when we checked in. After-hours check-in went exactly as expected. Ski In and Ski Out was great, but it took some additional communication to for me to find the actual access trails, but the property manager's help was very timely via both text and email, getting us on and off the slopes quickly. Property was very comfortable, and I would return with no hesitation.
