Luxury Beachfront Condo with Amazing Ocean Views

It was everything that was advertised. Very clean and roomy. Great kitchen. Great views. Secure and safe. I would recommend and would stay again. It is about an hour and a half from the airport and transportation isn't cheap because of the distance. You can expect to pay a minimum of 100 each way. Once in the complex, rides around are pretty cheap to hit a local grocery store or restaurant. Uber works there and we were finding rides for 7 - 10. We went to Hawaii, which is a bar within walking distance and they have music many nights. Basic bar with drinks and a decent menu. We went to the tiki bar on the beach right next door. Nice atmosphere and the food and beverages were good. We ate at Kazca 21 which had good food, and we ate at Cafe Med which you need reservations for and was probably my favorite meal on the trip. We enjoyed REY grocery store and they have everything you need.We did a Panama Canal tour that was awesome, but again, the transportation was about 100 each way as it was back in Panama City. If I had it to do again, I would probably rent a car. The drive from the airport will be a little hectic getting out of the city, but just cruising around the condo area would be fine. Download Whats App and Google Translate. Almost everyone uses What's App to communicate and if you don't know Spanish, Google Translate came in very handy for us.

From pre-arrival to our departure everything was just perfect. The owner of the property has obviously put a great deal of time and thought into ensuring that everything you could possibly need during your stay is available for you. You have truly thought of everything. Right down to the smallest detail. Juan (the local property manager) was there to meet us upon arrival and ensured we were made aware of not just the condo (he walked us around Playa Serena) but everything about the local area. On our 1st morning Juan drove us around the immediate area pointing everywhere and everything there was to see and do. Then he did the same for Coronado. This wasn’t just a quick drive round in a car. He took the time to actually walk us into and around every supermarket. No stone was left unturned. He even showed us the best doctors office (they speak English) should we need their services. He missed nothing. We had the odd minor concern / question during our stay but nothing of any concern as Juan was always available and quick to answer any questions we had. One further point was Juan’s management was proactive rather than being reactive. He didn’t just respond to issues. He made contact with us regularly to ensure everything was okay and was there anything he could do to improve our stay. You truly have an amazing manager in Juan. The condo, Playa Serena and the local area are just perfect. We had an amazing stay. We can’t wait for our next visit.

This booking was two years ago. I cancelled as the pool under repair. Amy was helpful, but she never completed the refund. I agreed to another time and the manager would not recognize my credit of US 79.25 There was weird things with the credit card charge. She said VRBO would not allow the complete refund. I doubt that. All a game. I know building well, it is lovely.

My wife and I just spent 4 weeks at Amy’s wonderful condo. This spacious unit has two bedrooms and two washrooms, including a large ensuite. The kitchen has everything you could need, including an expresso coffee machine, a great blender for smoothies and drinks, and a BBQ on the balcony overlooking the beach and the ocean. Playa Serena Beach Resort has 24 hr security, is steps away from the pool and beach, has friendly staff, and is quiet. Amy’s uni is everything as advertised and more. Our host, Amy had gotten notified at the last minute about some building inspections of the gas system which would have it shut down during the trip. Amy had another place at Playa Caracol which is a little furhter from Coronado, but in a beautiful area. She set us up there & took very good care of us. Ask Amy about Playa Caracol as an option if you want a beautiful villa in a peaceful setting. Thanks Amy & Juan!

Let's start with the good. This unit is as pictured and advertised. We've rented places all over the world and this has one of the nicest appointed kitchens of any we've been in. The kitchen has a couple of luxuries like an espresso maker, a great blender, a wine fridge, a decent big fridge with an ice maker, and maybe the best amenity is that the knives are actually sharp! Plus a BBQ on the patio. A nice kitchen was important as there isn't much in the area in the way of restaurants. Come with a meal plan and a lot of groceries and you'll enjoy the kitchen etc. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is huge. Even a walk in closet to unpack your bags. Living/dining room is a nice size and the TV works well. Internet ...when it was working... is decent and you can use a fire stick to stream your favourite programs. The staff around the complex are friendly. A basic bit of Spanish goes a long way as there are very few English speakers. Common throughout Panama. The beach is spectacular, not busy and you can walk for miles. The bad......just to be honest. We checked in on Saturday afternoon and on Sunday afternoon the pool was drained. Monday began the demolition of the pool, jackhammers all day and dust flying. It was still going on when we checked out. Quite disappointed there was no pool and no notification that this was happening. The condo is one of 3 that are very close together. Sound tends to echo and amplify in the courtyards and it's pretty noisy at times. The weekends are busy with lots of locals coming to the ocean and the parties go on till the early hours. Very loud. It was quite windy when we were there and the windows rattle significantly in the wind. Gorgona is a bit isolated and if you don't have a vehicle, you'll be using a taxi or bus to Coronado for the bigger grocery stores or shopping. We had some difficulty getting a reply from the local manager as we were trying to arrange Transportation from Coronado to get to the unit. There may have been some confusion as to who was handling it...... but we were getting worried when we had no communication until the day before arriving. Obviously we finally got to talk to Juan after contacting VRBO and got the address. Overall, loved the property and would return, just wanted to point out some issues that might affect others enjoyment.

Excellent location, Ocean Front, well equipped. Great view from the balcony. Really enjoyed our stay. Looking forward to stay hear again.

Wife and I had the pleasure of staying in this unit for 2 months. It is exactly as pictured. Very clean, comfortable bed, large ensuite. Juan the on site manager was very easy to work with and always seemed to be available to help out. It is a very peaceful and relaxing condo and area. Beach is not crowded but wonderful to walk and will offer up a multitude of shells if you collect them. Beach bar next door has good food and adds a nice ending to the walk. I would recommend this unit to anyone who wants to sit back n relax. If your lookin for party time and lots of people this is not for you. Thanks Amy & Juan we had a great time. Tom

We really enjoyed our stay at Playa Serena. The location was perfect and the property was well maintained. The gate attendants were wonderful. I’d highly recommend this unit.
