Stayed Aug 19, 2017We're a small family with 7y old daughter that love to travel together and discover and explore new places. The apartment is truly a gem in the heart of the town of Laredo - located in the attic of the old building with so much cozy details in it like wooden floors, brick walls, lots of windows and air yet very tastefully decorated. The bathroom is the best I've seen (even in the magazines). The kitchen had everything we needed, the beds in the bedrooms were enormous yet comfortable. Please note that apartment is located on the fifth floor of the building with no elevator, so you'll have to climb the stairs. The owner has been very fast to respond, very diligent and helpful at all times. The town itself is small but nonetheless bustling with lots of restaurants open at the time we stayed which didn't really bothered us at nights though. The town's biggest beach, La Salve is awesome. I recommend you climb the Atalaya hill in the eastern part of the town and enjoy the sunset from there as well as town's skyline. We also have had a privilege to enjoy the yearly Battle of Flowers contest happening in town that fancied sophisticated floating figures made of flowers by locals with a fireworks show later in the night as a cherry on top. Laredo is also in a 1h drive proximity to other remarkable places worth visiting like Bilbao, Santander, Comillas, Santillana del Mar, San Vincent de la Barquera etc.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The apartment is gorgeous and has been renovated with great care and a loving eye for details – the interior is aesthetic and of premium quality. In the lovely kitchen you will find anything for your needs – not solely the cooking equipment itself, but also spices, oil, vinegar and so forth. The bathroom is a further delight: it is spacious, light and contains both a generous shower as well as a Jacuzzi. If the weather allowed –we visited Laredo in April- we enjoyed our breakfast on the ample terrace in the morning sun. A parking space located in the courtyard of the premises is available as well, which cannot be overvalued considering how few parking spaces are available on the street area outside. The extensive sandy beach “La Salve” (about 7km long) – which is nearly deserted in the pre-season – can be reached within 3 minutes. Dogs are admissible at “La Salve” from the start of October until the end of April. Bakeries, a butcher and a small supermarket can all be reached within just a few minutes, which made the apartment ideally situated for us. Rebeca and Francisco provided us with plenty of insights regarding restaurants and bars as well as ideas for walking excursions and trips and also obligingly answered all our questions in preparation of the trip. Christina genially welcomed us at the apartment and took good care of us during our stay. The apartment was simply perfect for us as well as for our two canines and has proved to be a terrific home base for various trips through the versatile landscape of Cantabria. Please mind that no elevator is available, meaning that the accommodation is not well-suited for persons with reduced mobility.
