Welcome to Lazy Daze, new in 2025 and welcoming as many as 8 guests with 3 bedrooms (King in primary and queen in each of the other two) with 2 full bathrooms, and a sleeper sofa in the bright and airy living room) plus two balconies! Enjoy lazy daze inside and out while in Galveston!

The owners have completely transformed this gorgeous 3 bedroom, 2 bath condo with 2 balconies, on the 10th floor with amazing views from east to west – watch water meet sky. To say it’s bright and airy would not do it justice, you have to see it to believe it. From the second you enter to the welcoming entry way with a table to drop your keys, or set up a work station, you’ll know you’ve made the best choice!

Just beyond the entry to the right you will find the dining area where you can enjoy meals or family game night. This area also has the dry bar where you’ll find drinking glasses (and a corkscrew if vino is to your liking! Note the sputnik inspired light fixture in this room.

Step across the hall into the primary bedroom or two steps away is the well appointed kitchen with full sized appliances – refrigerator, range, dishwasher and microwave. Whether you are planning to prepare your own meals, or dine your way across Galveston’s incredible eateries – you’ll find everything you could possibly need here!

The primary bedroom and bath are relaxing and soothing at the end of a long day at the beach and pool, or strolling the strand, shopping, visiting museums, checking out all the history Galveston has to offer, or doing nothing all day if that’s what you prefer. The room has a king-sized bed and a smart TV, so you can lock yourself away as it’s a split plan, away from the other two bedrooms. The en-suite bath has a low-step-in shower with grab bar for safety, and a separate water closet as well.

Step out of the kitchen and into the living room with plenty of seating, another flat panel television, and access to the double balcony that is shared with the second bedroom. Included in the living room is a sleeper sofa. (You’ll find the sheets and pillows in the bedroom closet.)

Just down the hall you’ll find two more bedrooms and another full bath. Each of the bedrooms has a queen bed, and each has balcony access – the first on the right shares a balcony with the living room, while the bedroom at the end of the hall has a private balcony. Across the hall you will find the all-new full bath with a tub-shower combination.

Some “unseen” updates the owners have included for your comfort include They opened spaces by eliminating walls. The primary bathroom was modified to remove barriers for the elderly and disabled by adding pockets doors and a small curb doorless shower. Safety was enhanced by adding extra long preened grab bars in each bathroom.

A whole house 4 Stage Water Filtration System with salt-free water softener was installed to provide healthier water that also softens skin and hair. This makes the water taste and smell better. Sand, silt, clay, and other sediments are filtered through a 5 micron sediment pre-filter. Stage 2 pushes the water through a KDF media which removes harmful chemicals such as chlorine, as well as addresses many of the contaminants found in municipal water. Stage 3 is a catalytic carbon media to remove organic (harmful) contaminants including chlorine, chloramine, VOCs, pesticides and herbicides to name a few. Stage 4 eliminates channeling while producing more contact time.

Air quality is also important for the owners who have allergies. All the air ducts were replaced and the internal HVAC grids were removed and cleaned. Air is filtered through an electrostatically charged air cleaner filter to remove allergens and improve air quality.

Visiting Galveston for one of the many competitive events hosted here Cheer, dance, sports tournaments or conferences Weddings, family reunions, class reunions, festivals, homes tours, or any other groups Why squeeze into a tiny hotel room when your entire group could stay in their own condos and enjoy together time at the pools, hot tubs, etc. instead!

Being about 5 blocks from a big box store makes shopping a breeze whether for food and beverage selections, beach necessities you may have forgotten, or souvenirs to remind you of your trip to the Texas gulf coast.

By the Sea condominiums are located across from Babe’s Beach on Galveston’s Seawall.

You will have exclusive use of the entire condo - and share the pool, propane grill areas, fire pit, tennis court, laundry facility and fenced dog area (if Fido or Fifi is joining you) and other public spaces with other guests and residents of By the Sea.

What's included: While we provide our guests with self check-in information and instructions, you can call us with any questions you may have at any time.

You certainly COULD stay here without a car - you can walk to shopping, eateries and the beach, there is public transportation nearby, and there are several local and nationally branded taxi services as well as ride share (Uber, Lyft) programs in place as well as meal deliveries (UberEats, ASAP (formerly WAITR) and DoorDash available as well. We provide self check in instructions 24-72 hours prior to arrival - and when you are on vacation - YOU ARE ON VACATION. Should you need to reach us, however, we are but a phone call or email away and ready to assist you. We are happy to answer any questions at any time, but to ensure we give you the correct code we cannot provide access instructions earlier than this.

Bed linens for all beds, one bath, hand and wash cloth for each guest that the unit welcomes. We do not provide beach/pool towels as when we did – they continuously went home with our guests. If you wish to “rent” beach towels from us – it is $25 for condos that accommodate up to 6 guests and $35 for condos that accommodate up to 8 guests. Which is only the additional cost of the laundering of them – labor time, laundry products, etc. We will need to have a credit card on file for this as if there are beach towels missing upon your departure, the charge is $25 per towel. We ask that our bath towels not be removed from the condo and taken to the beach or pool. They can get damaged or lost.

Starter supplies: 2 rolls of 2-ply, quilted toilet paper, a roll of paper towels, a dishwasher tablet, small dishwashing liquid, sponge, 2 small soaps, 2 small shampoos, trash bag, and coffee including sweeteners, stir sticks, powdered creamer to make that first pot. These are intended to get you started while you make your list and decide where to shop (there is a WalMart, Kroger, Randall's, Arlan's and Target on the island, as well as many mom & pop grocery stores.

By the Sea – like almost every condominium complex and hotel in Galveston, charges a parking/resort/amenity fees. This is not a charge from My Galveston Getaway and is paid directly to the complex upon your arrival. They will issue a parking permit and may issue wristbands that identify guests who are authorized at the complex. The charge is $37.89 (tax included) per vehicle per stay (not per night). Anything with tires – so truck & trailer is 2 vehicles. They also charge a per pet fee of $10.83 per animal. Make sure you’ve let My Galveston Getaway know you’re bringing a dog and paid that fee as well ($75 per dog and dogs only.) Service animals are the exception. Please know for vacation rental purposes, ESA’s (emotional support animals) are not service animals and not exempt from rules and charges. We are unable to collect this in advance and pay it to By the Sea on your behalf. We don’t get to make the rules, we just play by them!

Many of our owners have switched out to “Smart” TV’s – so bring your login information with you to sign in to your own subscription services, and don’t forget to log-out before leaving.

We strive for 5 star reviews at all times - and the first part of that is notifying everyone of every cost they may incur so that there are no surprises. If during your stay with us you find any reason that you are not able to rate our service and the property a 5 star review based upon the description of the property, that the pictures accurately depict the property, or our courteous service - please let us know and give us the opportunity to turn that frown upside down and EARN your 5 star review.

All properties managed by My Galveston Getaway are 100% non-smoking/non-vaping properties.

After making your reservation you will receive a link to complete our renters agreement. The only information we request differently than the booking platforms (VRBO/AirBnB) is your personal email address, the names and ages of each person who will be in the property during your stay, and your driver’s license information as well as an emergency contact should we need to reach someone on your behalf. Thank you for completing this in a timely manner so that we may send you the check-in instructions for the property you have reserved.

Galveston is a barrier island located in the Gulf of Mexico. The island is susceptible to rainstorms, thunderstorms and even a hurricane now and then. Sometimes these result in temporary power and WiFi outages. We strongly encourage our renters to consider purchasing trip interruption/cancellation protection either through the platform that you book through or some other source. My Galveston Getaway issues refunds if a governmental official issues a mandatory evacuation of the island. Unfortunately we are unable to control sunshine, temperatures and mosquitos and do not refund other than pursuant to our policy based on evacuation orders. Thank you for understanding.

Again – the parking/resort/amenities/facilities fee is one charged by the condominium complex, not by the owner of the condo or My Galveston Getaway and we appreciate your understanding.

Condo was much nicer than the pictures shown on VRBO at booking. The owners just finished a complete update of the condo prior to our stay and it was very beautifully done. Two of the 3 bedrooms and the living area have balconies looking out on the Gulf -- Pelicans fly right by the windows! We come to Galveston every year and this was our favorite place to stay so far with the best view yet. The booking agent, Cathie, was great and answered all questions promptly. The complex had lots of parking & staff in lobby all the time. No stairs to climb, elevators & luggage carts available to load & unload in one trip. The location is perfect for all the things we like to do. We really enjoyed this condo and hope to come back again often.

Overall really great condo. Could be cleaner, mattresses could certainly be better and condo could benefit from a little TLC. But offers amazing view, location is prime and host/manager is fantastic and very accommodating.

I liked the location on the Seawall, close to things we wanted to see and do. The balcony view awesome. Unit was very clean, we had zero issues, check-in was super easy. We look forward to staying here again.

Needs updating. Woodwork, floors, ceiling, kitchen granite. Furniture is worn and dirty along with lamp shades. Shower curtain hooks are rusty. Soft soap dispenser was almost empty. Sliding door does not lock. Also, had problems with front door latch that twists 360 degrees and won’t lock, Mirror cracked in king bedroom. Electrical outlets need adjusting. Closet door in back bedroom won’t close. No washer and dryer. Beds were very comfortable along with fans on. Great view.

Very roomy and laid out nicely. The huge amount of balcony was great! Especially enjoyed waking up to see the water without getting out of bed. Get up early, the sunrise is glorious!!

Loved the beach view and sitting on the balcony. One of the toilets didn't work, so that caused all of us to use 1 bathroom, but it worked out.

The ac filter was dirty sending black dirt on ceiling s. Towel racks fell off the wall. Upholstered furniture was dirty needs to be recovered. A blackout curtain needs to be installed in master bedroom. Just suggestions. Art work was great, kitchen was beautifully set up with all necessities. Just needed a little tweaking.

The place was great, the views were wonderful, the owners were very nice and helpful. The only things we did not like was that there were mirrors and glass topped furniture everywhere, haha; and that when we arrived everything was unplugged and all the light bulbs were unscrewed….we were all just super annoyed after the 12hour drive to come in and have to find all the outlets and figure out the bulbs and all of that. Otherwise the property is great

This was a girls/moms weekend with friends coming from across the country. Donna was beyond fabulous with not only communication but with service! We had a couple hic ups, (doesn’t all travel?) the communication was amazing and allowed us to spend our trip without any problems. This location is right on the beach, had room for everyone and was super clean. 100% recommend!!!!!
