Lake Side Condo Getaway

My husbad, myself and our grown son rented this condo over Fourth of July weekend to attend a family reunion close by. Of course it was more expensive because of the holiday, which is expected, what was a disappointment was the lack of amenities in the condo itself and that it was advertised to have a gym yet none of the machines worked.The was one roll of toilet paper for each bathroom, no extras even though we had a three night stay. No paper towels, so soap in the bathroom for the shower, just soap at the sink to wash your hands. Four double beds so you couldn’t really sleep six adults comfortably. Lights burned out in the kitchen and over the stove making cooking a challenge.Seating at the breakfast bar was the wrong height so you couldn’t really sit there to eat. Only 4 chairs for the table so what do you do if you have more people, they can’t sit at the table at the same time.It appears as the dishwasher is not working correctly as soap crystals were stuck in the dispenser with soap crystals on the floor of the dishwasher, Bowls were put away very dirty. We left a night early.The location is not bad and the view from the porch is very nice. You can walk across the lake on the pedestrian bridge which is quite nice.I do believe the condo is for sale based on a sign that I saw on our walk. It explain the lack of amenities that you expect.Perhaps the cleaning crew is not doing what they are instructed, but for the price charged it was a very poor value.

Very disappointed. Owner does not have local tv Chanels.Condo had filthy floors and windows. No usual set ups with hair dryer or toiletries. Found major maintenance issues backed up drip pan under furnace, microwave light would not go off, dishwasher door would not close. Owner very indignant on getting this feedback. When we actually probably saved him major repairs temporarily cleaning the drip line on furnace to drain. Water was at the top and splashing over.BEWARE!!!2nd guest comment .I have stayed in many vrbo properties and never stayed in a place that did not have shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, bar soap, salt and pepper. Pretty sad for this price. Floors were gritty and swirled. Cooking pans were all teflon chipped and stained. Kitchen appliances - the dishwasher wouldn't close to run so had to hand wash. Microwave light would not go off so had to unplug so it wouldn't over heat. Sadly owner was defensive to honest feedback comments.

My husband played in a golf tournament and I explored the area. Santee is home to a fabulous State Park, there are shopping and antiquing options, plenty of decent restaurants, Charleston is an easy drive and EVERYONE of the locals is helpful and hospitable. Tons of GREAT golf courses. Fishing is everywhere but we don’t fish.

Property was as advertised. Very clean and the view was great. Pool and recreation area was a big bonus.
