I normally will only write a review to promote amazing places. In this instance I feel compelled to warn people. I drove from across the island to have a weekend away, I can’t imagine flying in from across the country for a long stay and end up in this place. You are 'greeted' with a rule book, reiterating the rules multiple times and written as if all guests are total delinquents. Unfortunately, any useful information, such as pool location, is not included in 'welcome' information. I texted the manager about pool location and got a prompt, yet terse, answer with the closing hours. But no word on location. Luckily, my clever friend was able to find the pool using Google Earth. There is no hot tub, as stated in the amenities, unless it was hidden somewhere other than the pool area. You will pay a hefty cleaning fee AND have multiple rules about what all you are supposed to clean, wash, strip, and get in the dryer. With multiple mentions about not stuffing things too full. By the way, this all better be done in a timely manner as you better be OUT on time. You are staying in a rental next to a full time resident who DOES NOT WANT YOU THERE. (The other neighbor was perfectly friendly.) I would be willing to bet there has been litigation. Hence, the manager being all about the rules. I feel for her, it must be a nightmare to manage. Needless to say, going on vacation to feel like a pariah is no fun.
My sister-in-law stayed in the condo for a family vacation. Though she didn’t use many of the complex amenities like the pool, she was happy with her stay. The condo was very peaceful, lots of birds chirping and private.
The complex and the condo were great. Two nice pools and parking for one car. We have stayed in this complex three or four times over the last 15 years. One of our friends rented a one bedroom that had two levels at the same time while we were there. The king size bed in our unit was very comfortable. The deck is great. The complex is in a nice area of Keauhou, about 15 minutes south of Kailua-Kona. Communication was great and easy. This was especially nice since we all had extended our stay by another 4 days and had to find another place to stay. This was it! The kitchen has everything you need to cook and a lot more. The furniture is comfortable. It is a great place for 2 people.
Very nice location. Quiet, relaxing, fresh air. Despite one small hiccup with the neighbor unit there was no issues with the residents. Always had hot water and the fans kept the temperature perfectly comfortable. Loved the front porch and mattress!!
Definitely planning on returning. Common areas are well maintained. We were able to grill/cook our selves several nights. The unit itself has a well-stocked kitchen (mostly utensils/cookware, but some consumables/spices/etc.). Despite being a duplex amongst other duplexes, once you're inside, it's just you and the view (which is pretty nice). Great jumping off point being very near the intersection of Ali'i, the bypass to Captain Cook, and the road up to the Hawaii Belt Hwy.
The condo was great! Clean, well-stocked kitchen, comfortable (king-sized) bed and furniture, in-unit laundry, beautiful lanai view, great book collection! South of Kona proper, so very little traffic. We spent a week at Danielle’s place and it was a perfect spot to unwind. The condo has a beautiful view, is steps from 2 nice pools (one is 4-6’ (I think) deep and the other is 2-4’ deep with waterfalls. Easy reach of ABC market and restaurants. Great view from the supermarket parking lot! We had a fun afternoon snorkel trip with Fair Winds— walking distance if you don’t mind getting your toes wet! Try the Coffee Shack in Captain Cook for a delicious breakfast and an amazing view! Loved the peacefulness (mid-January) of the location— just what we needed!
manager was easy to get a hold of and the grounds were great!
