Welcome to this 620 sq. ft. 1-bedroom non-smoking and pet-free condo (which rents by the month - 60 day/2 month minimum) which is nestled in the lush green area of San Diego's safe and walkable Mission Hills/Hillcrest neighborhood. This condo caters to the longer term customer (2 months or more, and especially to medical personnel, visiting nurses and doctors, academics, researchers, etc. and is walkable to restaurants, nightlife, UCSD, Vibra/Select Specialty and Scripps-Mercy/MD Anderson hospitals, shopping, and several nearby supermarkets. In addition, the condo has great freeway access (within 1-2 minutes) for anyone traveling with a car, and who is commuting to business hubs in downtown San Diego, UTC, Sorrento Valley and other parts of the city. A prime choice for the business traveler, perhaps on an extended trip who wants something more personal and relaxed than a hotel; a private place to call home, while here in town. There is a shuttle that passes the intersection of Washington St. and Third Avenue to reach the La Jolla UCSD Hospital and campus. The property is particularly desirable for medical professionals, and is a sought-after choice for doctors and nurses who value the convenience of being close to the nearby hospitals. (It’s literally within walking distance to Scripps-Mercy Hospital and UCSD Medical Ctr. - Hillcrest Campus.). It’s a light, comfortable refuge, in a quiet building with stylish, comfortable, welcoming furnishings, and a dedicated parking space in the secured underground garage. For the vacationer or couple, it is convenient to all major attractions, making it perfect for a stay in 'America's Finest City.' Many find the condo to be centrally located to the heart of San Diego, just a five-minute drive from the Convention Center, Petco Ballpark and the charming Gaslamp Quarter in downtown San Diego. It's a ten-minute drive from the airport, and fifteen minutes from the beach and SeaWorld to the west. It's also one block from the main thoroughfare of Washington St. and nearby bus lines, giving access to all parts of the city. Please note: This condo is smoke-free and pet-free, so if you are allergic to animals, this apartment would be a good option for you. We often have folks who are relocating to San Diego, who elect to stay in our all-inclusive condo, while they settle into their new city, and figure out where they would like to ultimately live. The condo includes amenities such as high-speed internet/WiFi, HD flat screen television with YouTubeTV, BluRay player, heat, air-conditioning, hot water and a well-stocked kitchen and eating area, for those who prefer to cook or eat-in. The bedroom has a small terrace and queen-sized bed and dresser. Bathroom has a tub/shower combination.

NOTE: Rentals of less than three months cannot be booked earlier than 3 months in advance. Please check back in, closer to the time of your reservation for availability, as this is not a hotel, and we are unable to fill the unit on short-notice. Also, high season (June-End of September) are priced higher than the standard rate. Please be aware of this price adjustment during those months. Electricity has a $100 monthly allowance before the tenant will be charged for any overages. Customers are encouraged to purchase security deposit insurance. This condo is NOT child-proof, so particular care will be necessary if a child will be visiting.

    I enjoyed my time spent here as a healthcare traveler working at UCSD. A nice walk to work. Also nearby groceries, gym, bus stops, and pharmacies made it a great choice for those like me who didnt bring their car.

    The apartment is very conveniently located near city with easy access to greater San Diego. It's easy walking distance to Balboa Park, Hillcrest and Mission Hills. All wonderful places to explore. The apartment is very comfortable and clean. A nice small kitchen that had everything I needed. The building is generally quiet with expected near city living noise. The laundry facilities are conveniently just across the hall. Overall, the place became a very cozy home for me during my extended stay. Michael is a wonderful host and provides many nice suggestions for places to eat, where to shop for groceries and general information. Communication was straightforward and he is very responsive to addressing any issues that come up. I highly recommend the place if you're looking to stay in San Diego for either a long or short period of time.

    This property is an excellent choice. It is decorated and furnished tastefully giving it a very welcoming and comfortable feel. The kitchen is efficient and well-stocked with all of the necessities. The bed was comfortable. The condition couldn't have been better -- clean and well-maintained. The location near the medical center and in an active, walkable urban community with plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping as well as convenient access to Balboa Park was just what we wanted. Underground parking as well as off-street guest parking provided added convenience. The owners were clearly committed to making our stay enjoyable and stress free, and they absolutely succeeded. They readily accommodated our arrival schedule which was late and departure time which was early. When a problem with the drain in the kitchen sink was reported, one of the owners took care of it personally and graciously within 15 minutes of receiving my report of the problem. This was our first use of VRBO (or any other apartment rental service). Our experience could not have been better, and I have nothing but good things to report. I look forward to staying at this property next year if our schedule and the unit's availability again align.

    I spent three months here while on a sabbatical from work in Ireland, working as a visiting professor at UCSD. This rental was fantastic for several reasons. Firstly, to be arriving from a distant country to only spend a short rental period, it was very difficult to place trust in many advertised rentals; this was not the case at all with Michael. Michael always replied promptly, addressed any concerns with respect to paying a deposit from afar, and was there to greet me upon arrival. During my stay, he respected his tenant's autonomy but still kept in touch about any building issues or updates (e.g. refurbishing of elevator, etc.). The deposit was also promptly returned with no issue. The apartment itself is well furnished with necessary furniture, aircon, a good tv/internet service, and a huge fridge/freezer; overall, the place is very comfortable to live in. On the other hand, if you are not planning on remaining indoors, its location in Hillcrest is great for amenities and is well-connected for exploring San Diego, with places like Balboa Park and Downtown nearby, and a free shuttle to UCSD campus up near La Jolla. The place also has a secure underground car park space at no additional cost. Overall, I would highly recommend this rental, and should I ever be returning to San Diego in future for a similar stay, I will be emailing Michael to see if this place is available!

    We enjoyed our stay. The location was convenient to many venues. Grocery stores and other stores were within walking distance. A washer and dryer are not in the apartment but are only about 6 steps from the apartment door. The apartment more than met our expectations. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils for cooking at home. Michael was pleasant, easy to work with, and accommodating. When we departed I inadvertently left a satchel under the bed and he called me before we reached the train station and offered to deliver the satchel to us at the station. The payment process worked well and and was just as we discussed. The deposit, minus the previously agreed upon cleaning fee, was returned to us promptly.

    This place was everything I needed when I moved cross country for a travel nursing assignment. Michael was very accommodating from the time I booked until the week after I left. I couldn’t ask for a better experience. The apartment is in an awesome location in Hillcrest with plenty of things to do and see. It was also a 6 minute walk to work which made it extremely convenient after a long shift. It had all the amenities and furnishings that I could ever want including coffee maker, toaster and iron/ironing board. The bed was very comfortable and had a balcony outside of the bedroom which was perfect for soaking in the sun while having a cup of coffee in the morning! Even after my stay, Michael was a great host and followed up with me prior to leaving to make the process smooth and convenient. I almost never write reviews, but Michael and his place certainly deserves a stellar one! Hope you enjoy this place and San Diego as much as I did
