High Above the Clouds, at an Elevation of 5506', lies the Cardinal's Nest

Carrie has everything in the condo! There was even a small A/C unit that wasn't needed. In fact, I can't imagine that it would ever be needed. Even now with the current heat wave in full bloom I note that night time temperatures are forecast in the low 60's at Beech Mountain. I enjoyed getting up in the morning and walking my dog up the quiet road to the Beech Mountain Resort. The walks around the area have grades that make it easy to get a good workout. Some of the trails like those at Emerald Outback and Buckeye Lake are in good shape and very enjoyable. But I was disappointed that two popular trails, the Upper and Lower Pond Trails, have been closed since Helene and probably won't be repaired for some time. We tried to do them anyway but it was no go. If you have mobility issues, you should be aware that the condo is an upper unit that requires walking up a flight of stairs. No big deal though, it's worth the climb because the view from the condo is fantastic...one of the best around! Plus there are deer everywhere and they'll go to your hand if you extend it. But one morning our dog alerted us to something really cool: a black bear walking just below our deck. Unable to find a quick snack he wandered off into the woods and was gone.

Our stay was amazing! The host was kind, attentive, and always quick to help with anything we needed. The property itself was beautiful, with gorgeous views and a peaceful atmosphere. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. We truly enjoyed our time here and would gladly return in the future!

Sitting on the deck in the afternoon was the best part! A bit too sunny for morning coffee but perfect in the afternoon.

Everything was extremeley neat and clean. Check in was easy on the keypad whoch was convenient for our late arrival. Close to the Beech Mountain resort, warm and cozy.

The host was very helpful allowing us to move dates due to the bad weather. The place was super nice and friendly with a great view! Will recommend

Everything was ready and clean upon arrival. All was neat and clean, and personal touches made it feel like home.

This is the perfect spot! A short 5 minute walk to the slopes or a 30 second drive! I’ve never felt so accommodated by a rental before, it has everything you need and more. I would love to stay here again, and will definitely recommend it to others.

Excellent location. The condo had everything we needed and was super comfortable.

Communication was very punctual and informative. The amenities had everything you could possibly need for a rental unit and was in excellent shape. The veiws were incredible as well as the proximity to the slopes.

Host was extremely responsive and hospitable. Space was cozy and matched advertisement. Location was fantastic.

Carrie was very welcoming and kind. The condo was clean, decorated festively, and very cozy. The view from the balcony was very beautiful. Plus, we were luckily able to check in early which was a pleasant surprise!

This was our second stay at the Cardinal’s Nest and it was just as good as the first! It’s close to the ski resort that we never needed to drive, just walk. Carrie has it fully stocked with appliances, utensils, coffee and even popcorn. The couch was so comfortable for my son and it’s just a cozy stay. Definitely recommend it for a ski trip and we can’t wait to come back!

Great place, fast booking, perfect location for beech. Be realistic about your vehicles capability in inclement weather and you’ll have a blast.

Our host was quick with her responses. We appreciate how she was able to accommodate our early check in. The unit was comfortable and had all the houseware items you could need. We stayed from Dec 2-8th and loved arriving to see the unit had some Christmas/winter decor that included a tree. We felt so cozy enjoying the snow and views from the balcony. We definitely recommend a stay here and look forward to a return stay.

Our stay was perfect! The location is absolutely beautiful in a short walking distance to Beech, where we celebrated the 4th. We were also still able to see the fireworks from the comfort of the beautiful porch. Check in was simple and same with check out. 10 out of 10 recommend for anyone looking for relaxing stay up in Beech.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at this Beech Mountain place: it's just the right size for two people and the view over the mountains from the back porch is tremendous! We would certainly stay here again - hopefully soon!

The place was very clean, easy to find, great location from the ski resort, check in was simple. The only reason it wasn’t 5 star, there was a problem with the internet when we arrived, I finally just unplugged it and plugged it back in, and was no problems after that. I would recommend this for a great stay.

What a perfect weekend getaway! The location is perfect, even if you aren't skiing. Wonderful views, property is ideal for a quick getaway. We would not hesitate to book again!

Such an awesome place. Carrie supplied everything we could possibly need. Really great location, right next to the ski resort and municipal sledding hill. I would recommend driving to Blowing Rock/Boone for dinner if you’re foodies like us. Worth the drive!Be prepared to stop for ski resort traffic on weekends.

The Cardinal’s Nest was beautiful. Carrie had it completely stocked with all the pots and pans we needed. We also loved making popcorn in the popcorn maker for a warm treat. The views were stunning and it was within walking distance of the ski resort. Plenty of blankets for the cold nights, we didn’t even run the heater on high. Only thing is I would add a map to show where we go to get to the resort, first time we accidentally turned early and went down a private staircase. We will definitely be back again!!

We had a great stay at the Cardinal’s Nest! It was the perfect spot for our family of four and our chocolate lab! Carrie was great and very responsive and helpful in managing all of our needs and requests. It was exactly what we were looking for and when we head back to Beech Mountain we will definitely seek out this property to stay again! Attended a wedding and traveled with our dog. The pet friendly property was perfect for us. Loved the area. We might return in the future.
