The location is fantastic and this is the best part. The interior of the unit is good also, with the bath and the kitchen obviously recently renovated. However, we encountered many issues as follows: The main issue: If someone is staying in the unit above, you can hear them as they move around to the point it sounds like they are right inside the unit. It even woke us up at 5:30 am one morning. We had to check out a day early due to this issue. The check in code we were given by email would not work. After spending 30 minutes and speaking to several persons we were finally given a different code that worked. Apparently there is an alternative code that can be used if the primary code doesn't function. Much time could have been saved if the alternate code had been promptly furnished when we contacted the management company. Next, be aware that this property has a shower only. The fine print correctly mentions this but the photos on line showed a tub/shower combo. Also,be sure to scan the code listed on the Laminate sheet so you can learn how to access keys needed to get onto the beach. Be aware that there are no instructions on how to use the microwave (which is not a typical one) nor about the tv set up. The kitchen is in dire need of additional silverware. There were only 2 of us and we had to wash every night so we could have some the next day. Finally, we did not use the pool as were there in Feb but it is very small and both it and the furniture looked miserable.

We recently completed a 10 night stay at Commodore's Retreat. It was a very positive experience dealing with Benchmark Management. They responded promptly to my questions, provided complete information prior to check-in, kept in touch by text throughout the stay, and allowed for a quick and easy check-out. The unit itself was as advertised, spotless, and well maintained. I would not hesitate to book another stay with this company!

Perfect for us! Ease to beach and loved the elevator and carts for bringing up and down our belongings!! Very clean and pretty condo! We will be back again! A week was not long enough!

There was a beeping noise from the owners closest that was locked and the property manager tried to resolve it but did not have a key. We were able to shut the bathroom door and alleviate the sound.

I liked that although this unit was on the first floor, it was above ground level due to the parking under the building. The beach was very accessible - no steps.

I also really appreciated the small things such as Tupperware was in the kitchen. Two things that popped out as a little disappointing would be the bright light outside the bedroom. The bedroom is right across the hall from the elevators and there is a light that can make you think that it’s 6 A.m. when in fact, it is only 2 AM. I had to wear an eye mask asleep, which is not a huge deal, but I feel like some darker curtains would be lovely there. Another thing and I could be wrong, but I did not see where this unit included beach chairs. They are available for rent, but I have seen where a lot of places include to beach chairs with the rental. Again, these are minor things. But enough, that the light in the bedroom properly bothered my husband. The bed was very comfortable. The bunks in the hallway are really more suited to younger children instead of teenagers. If you have a tall teenager, they may want to sleep on the pullout couch.... Also, the bathroom could use a little TLC. It is probably the original bathroom when the property was built. Again, it is very functional. However, the countertops are shorter and the shower is not updated either. These were minor things for a long weekend, but if these are things that would be a dealbreaker, maybe look at another facility. I would absolutely stay here again, but I would definitely keep that in mind if this is a dealbreaker.
