Fun in the Sun on Topsail Island at the Pelican Pad: A cozy oceanfront condo

The view of the beach was beautiful. A very short walk downstairs to the beach. Family friendly with bunk beds for kids.

In the immediate area there are just places t stay which we liked. There are plenty of places to visit and eat about 12 miles away. We loved this place. Easy access to the beach and great view from the balcony.

Host has gone above and beyond with making this place feel like home.

We stayed here recently with my two kids. The beach view is excellent! I really enjoyed the decor of the condo as it was very beachy feeling which is exactly what we wanted. I don't have too many complaints. The owner does state things are outdated and for the cost of the place, this was expected. I will say that the two things I found a little odd is that the beds had no sheets on them which I have never encountered through any other vrbo booking and also the dishwasher was completely full of almost all the dishes that I had to put away first thing when I came in. Other than that, we had a great experience. We got to enjoy the beach daily and the pool was very clean. The elevator really helps too as it can be a lot of steps especially when bringing groceries in. Anytime I had question, the owner was quick to text back. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice affordable small condo for the week at the beach.

Overall pleasant experience. Unit needs some updating and maintenance attention. Host was extremely responsive. Location to the beach was perfect.

Everything was wonderful!! Great location and view of the ocean! My only hiccup was that the bunk beds are made more so for kids, not anyone adult size as it’s very shallow from one bunk to the one above and can’t stretch out. The sofa pull out mattress is very springy which the alternative of the couch is again the leg room is not there for an adult size person. Everything else was great. Master bedroom mattress was wonderful! The walls are also very thin making for a lot of noise which woke us up a few times from the people above. All in all, made the most of it and very responsive host!

This was our second trip to the pelican pad and it was just as good as the first trip last November. It’s a small unit with 1 queen bed then 2 bunk beds recessed in the hallway. As this was a trip for just my wife and I it was more than enough room. Upon arriving the first thing you notice is a welcome amenities basket with water and various small snacks. The kitchen has all the basic things you need to cook a meal if you decide to. The balcony has a great view of the ocean and allows you to see a sunrise if you get up that early on a vacation. Communicating with the owner Davonna was quick and painless both during the booking process and during our stay. Would definitely recommend Pelican Pad if you’re looking for a beach stay.

Host was great. All was as expected. Place was clean and welcoming. More than everything you would need for a wonderful beach stay.

We loved our stay and the unit was super cute and cozy. The elevator only worked about half the time we were there and that would be the only negative I would mention, and that is not the fault of the owner of the unit we stayed in.

My family and I had a great time here this summer. It had everything we needed and then some! The only thing was that the bedroom always seemed to be warmer than the rest of the place, even at night.

We enjoyed our stay! It had a nice view and sound of the ocean. We could not get the Wifi to work while we were at the condo. Everything else was as described.

We had an amazing stay at this location. The property was perfect for our family. It had wonderful views, and the beach access was so nice. Would definitely recommend!

This was a nice, cozy condo in a community on the beach for a reasonable price. Perfect for two people. There are two bunk beds in the hallway for kids but I think it would begin being a little tight with more than that. Communication with the host was great and we were able to immediately enter the condo with not complicated check-in. A/C wasn't working (luckily not much of an issue as it was fairly temperate) but host responded immediately saying someone would come out. Unfortunately, the first time we needed the A/C was the day before we left so the repair wouldn't have helped us. Only nit-pick is the internet: the community uses a common guest internet that you have to click into (like when you're in a hotel) and it disconnects you automatically every several hours. A real pain. Plus, we brought a Roku so we could watch our streaming channels but couldn't get it connected (no ability to click the browser page required for access to the Internet.)

From initial booking throughout the stay communication was excellent. We were informed prior to check in that the AC wasn’t working but had already scheduled repairs. The AC was repaired prior to our arrival and we were notified of same. Upon entering the unit there was a small welcome basket containing small snacks. The unit was great for my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary.the ocean view was beautiful great to wake up and have coffee on in the mornings. Would highly recommend this property.

This was such an excellent location and a perfect property for a family of 4 with two young boys. Clean and perfectly described. Appreciated the awesome porch and kitchen. Made traveling so easy. We found plenty of sharks teeth too!
