FKA Kimogener Point - ocean views, WiFi, W/D, balcony, pool & beach access

Good location and nice view from the balconies but definitely needs some updates. Furniture inside not in great shape and the bathrooms look like they havent been updated at all. There should be some description about which floor this is on. Alot of stairs to get to the top floor.

The peacefulness and the atmosphere

Overall great stay. Beautiful weather. Great accommodations. Lots of stairs to be aware of for anyone that may have difficulty with them.

The other reviews provide a clear overview with two exceptions:1) Arrival after dark is challenging. The signs are faded and not very reflective. We had to climb the stairs of the wrong building to know it was incorrect. This rental is in the building closest to the road. Park in the lot near the pool. Go over the sidewalk that goes through the gazebo by the pool. That will be the correct stairs. Climb until you cannot climb anymore and you are right at the front door.2). We found the beds to be quite comfortable. Better than most places we have stayed.

We had a great stay at this rental. Even though as some other reviews suggest, the condo is a bit outdated, it would not deter us from renting this condo again. The location is great (we’ve been in OBX multiple times and love Avon!) and the ocean views can’t be beat. Waking up every morning to the sun rising over the ocean was amazing. If you’re a family like ours, and aren’t bothered by the condo being a little outdated, I would highly recommend this rental!

I loved the location. Especially the sunrise was beautiful. The condo was a bit outdated but still very comfortable and clean. It was on the 3rd floor with no elevator. Nothing about that was written in the description. I’m 69 and my husband is 70. We both have health issues. Really a long hall. Vacasa did a very poor job with communication. That’s a long story but I had to call them twice the first day. We had problems getting into the condo because they didn’t explain the lock. They also gave us the wrong code for the pool. They also sent 2 emails on how to check out and they had totally different requirements in both.

Great! We loved the home and would definitely rent it again although we have 2 growing children that will need their own rooms in the future so sadly, we will look for something bigger but we fell in love with Avon and plan to rent from Vacasa again. They sent a maintenance man over on a Sunday to fix a few things. Very impressed! Thanks!!

Location and views were very good. Property was well maintained. The unit itself was clean but very dated. The pool area was maintained well but there was no shade or umbrellas.

Wonderful condo in a great location!

I was not sure what to expect after reading some of the recent reviews. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the place and the abundance of provisions. Someone earlier commented this was a dump, and another reviewer said it was roach infested. Neither of these are true! We only saw one bug the whole time and it was outside underneath the building as we were walking toward the beach. The condo is a little bit dated, but very clean and spacious. Let me just say - the views are captivating from the living area, master bedroom, and deck. Windows on 3 sides of the master bedroom allow so much light and a nice cross breeze. My only negative comments are related to the beds, nmbr of steps, and ckeckin/checkout instructions. The beds are foam and very soft. I have a bad back that really suffered after a couple of nights. And the other thing you need to know is that there are 63 steps up to the third floor. Pack light so you don't have to carry much up. You really don't need to bring anything for the kitchen as it is well stocked. Due to the steps, might not be a good fit for older folks, and definitely not for the handicapped or small kids. The check-in instructions I received from Vacasa were terrible. I received a door code in an email but there is no coded lock on the door. You have to go down the street to the Vacasa office to get your key, but we only found that out by calling the phone number on our check in email. Also, we did not receive any check out instructions...had to drive down to the Vacasa office to ask. Other than those few negatives, we really enjoyed a very relaxing and comfortable stay.

When we checked in, I had to wash all the dishes, utensils, coffee maker etc. There was caked on tomato sauce in a pan in the cabinet, old food in the utensils in the drawers...etc. The furniture is broken, badly stained, and dirty. the porch is useless as over half of it is full of storage furniture. I found a live roach. The front door lock did not work. I complained and received no response, I eventually even checked out early and complained in person. I have stayed in other units in this complex and found them in much better condition. This place is an overpriced dump and needs some serious upgrades. When I stayed with a different unit, there was much better support and help. VAcasa is not interested in your vacation, nor your pleasure. Once you pay for it, you are stuck with it. They did not offer to help nor reimburse me for the problems I had and the lack of cleanliness.
