Stayed Jul 6, 2025My husband and I enjoyed our week-long stay at this peaceful, cozy casita while attending a Summer Classics Seminar at St. John's College (a program we highly recommend!). The location was ideal - a few minutes' drive to both Santa Fe Plaza and St. John's, and with fantastic hiking right from the door. The kitchen was small, but perfectly functional for cooking breakfast (the only meal we prepared), and there is a full grill and an outdoor dining table accessible to guests on the patio. We did not find the portable air conditioning units to be very effective (the heat from the exhaust hose seemed to counteract any cooling). However, given the quiet setting, we were able to stay comfortable by opening the windows, drifting to sleep with the soothing sound of the water feature located just outside the master bedroom. The host, Patricia, is kind and helpful. We appreciated her many excellent restaurant recommendations. Thank you for the lovely stay, Patricia. We would be delighted to return to this charming property in the future.

Stayed Nov 25, 2025Wonderfully cosy and bright casita near to downtown Santa Fe, but remarkably quiet in a secluded area. A walk up Cerro Gordo Rd into the hills from the casita was so refreshing and beautiful as was the trek down along the river pathway to Canyon Road. The main bed was so comfortable, it was tempting to stay in it for longer than one should while in the City Different! If one is planning to do a lot of cooking, this may not be the ideal place as the kitchen is small and does not have a full size oven. However, one can still manage with the stovetop, microwave and Breville toaster/oven.

Stayed Aug 15, 2025This property sits in a wonderful neighborhood--quiet, serene and peaceful. Views of Sun and Moon Mountains and night sky gazing are superb from the driveway. Loved the location! As described, getting to the Plaza and Canyon Road are both short drives, however the access road is very washed out and it is tricky to navigate the drainage (to be fair, there was a deluge rainstorm the day we arrived). The interior of the casita, while both structurally and architecturally beautiful, was less than desirable, especially for the price point. The musty smell upon entering was off-putting (rugs and decorative pillows need to be cleaned or updated), every piece of upholstery is broken down and I had to sit on the floor for our entire stay. (The bed was comfortable for my husband.)There were not enough hand towels or washcloths for two people staying 5 days (exactly ONE of each size) and the sponge in the kitchen had been used previously. Soaps and shampoos had not been refilled or replaced for some time. The property owner is very responsive and while we would love to be able to come back to this location, we sadly won't consider it unless some interior improvements take place.

Stayed Aug 24, 2025Wonderful relaxing location and so close to the arroyo to walk each morning! Being in nature is important but not too remote! It’s only a few minutes drive to the Plaza and places you want to go. Beautiful location and house! It is perfect for one or two people. Great bed…I slept like a baby. I will return again I hope!

Stayed Jun 2, 2025My friend and I stayed here during our first trip to Santa Fe! The property is lovely and the space was perfect for the two of us. There aren't sidewalks all the way to the river walk / streets that lead to dowtown so plan to drive into town, which isn't far! Would definitely stay again!

Stayed Feb 17, 2025I stayed here for almost 2 weeks with my dog. The owner was wonderful and a great comfort to me when I unexpectedly experienced a heart attack. I found a park just a short walk down the road from the casita where I could walk my dog every evening, and there is also Monsignor Patrick Smith Park just a short drive away. Very close to Canyon Road and excellent restaurants. The casita itself was comfortable, especially the bed in the master bedroom!

Stayed Dec 31, 2024My husband, our dog, and I stayed at Patricia's place for three nights. The house was very clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed the experience of staying in an adobe home. The location was perfect for us, as it was close to hiking spots like the beautiful Santa Fe National Forest and the scenic Dale Ball Trails. We also loved the proximity to the amazing Canyon Road art walks and the Santa Fe Downtown Plaza, all just a 10-minute drive away. However, the listing differed a bit from our expectations. For example, the drive to the Plaza wasn't 5 minutes as stated—it was actually around 10 minutes. The picture of the pond shown in the listing is located right in front of the property owner's walkway, and we didn't feel comfortable sitting there to enjoy the pond. The fenced area for the dog was in the back of the house, but there was no direct access from the house. We had to exit the house and open the gate to let our dog enjoy the space. Additionally, the backyard wasn't very private since there are many windows facing it from the owner's home. The kitchen was quite small, making it difficult to cook a full meal. Also, there was no electric kettle, even though it was listed in the amenities. The house didn't feel very private, as the kitchen had a glass door covered by a curtain, and we could hear the property owners clearly from the other side.Overall, while we had a pleasant stay, there were a few aspects of the property that didn't quite match our expectations.

Stayed Oct 8, 2024Clean, neat with laundry and a quiet location, but I recommend the owner have a welcome book to explain how things work in the unit. There was only directions to restaurants and shops. Also we hiked to Canyon road along the river path and the Plaza (2 miles one way) but had to figure out the directions ourselves.

Stayed Sep 24, 2024This is a comfortable property for two people. The location is secluded up in the canyon and easily accessible to canyon and river trails. It is only a mile walk to the Tea House and the art work on Canyon Road. The kitchen is tiny but that is a good excuse to sample the many fine dining experiences in town. Patricia is a welcoming and responsive hostess.

Stayed Sep 18, 2024Very nice casita with everything we needed except a liquid measuring cup, lol! The bed in the main bedroom was a dream- like sleeping on a cloud. Beautiful view of the mountains just a short walk away. No lights in the neighborhood at night so driving back was a bit of a challenge in the evening, but we truly enjoyed our stay! My wife hopes that the fruit left on the ground is put to good use and not gone to waste. Would recommend! Dog friendly a plus.

Stayed Aug 13, 2024This property has no place to relax and enjoy being away from home. The listing claimed that the property was close to the Santa Fe plaza so if you think that 2 miles is close, it is close. The access is via a washed-out dirt road. The small living room contains a bed and very large hassock. The couch is low and very uncomfortable. It is two unequal steps from the bedroom to the bathroom and the kitchen is extremely small (read no counterspace). There exist no instructions for anything within the property including the outside areas. Probably the minimum vrbo requirements are met but I would stay in a hotel room before booking this place again. The property manager answers questions promptly.

Stayed Jul 22, 2024This was a nice property in a nice part of town. Ten minutes from historic downtown. Property manager was prompt with any questions. Kitchen was virtually unusable because it was so very small. There is no prep area or place to put dishes once you wash them. There is a nice grill outside but again no room in the kitchenette to prep anything. The bed was nice and shower was good. Great for those who eat out.
