Escape To Madeline Island ! Superior Lakefront 2 Bedroom Condo

It was close smug to the ferry to not need a vehicle. We did bring ours and drove around the island. We happened to hit a weekend where there was a town festival going on. It was close enough to walk to anything in the mainstreet we wanted to do. The view from the porch was beautiful. Watching the sunset over the bay was a great way to end the day!!

The condo was roomy and comfortable. The balcony had excellent views of the lake and sunsets. The coffee shop downstairs was great for morning coffee and to go sandwiches. The condo is situated right in downtown lapointe near the few open restaurants and bars the week after Apple Fest in Bayfield. The only drawback is the convenient location of the condo also generates lots of noise in the early morning hours from nearby trucking and Marina operations.

Rooms were dated. Shower looked like it had not had a deep cleaning in a long time. Garbage in the lobby was overflowing and stinky. We had to call front office to ask if they could remove garbage because it was so stinky and smelling up entire building. The view from the room, and the size of the room, was awesome. Nice kitchenette and balcony with nice outdoor seating. Nice sized TV with ample channels. Since almost EVERYTHING was closed on the island due to COVID, and we were not given this information until we were actually there, it was not a pleasant stay. In fact, there were only 2 resturants for lunch, closed at 3:00 pm and take out only. One of the 2 places you had to email your order -- no staff to engage with - and they would set your food outside when it was done but did not contact you so food could be there for a while if you didn't sit and wait and watch. For dinner, there was 1 option and take out only and staff was very rude. I believe there were 4 stores open to quasi shop, so really nothing to do because the weather was cold and rainy. Couldn't grab a drink or sit down and enjoy a dining experience. Grab and eat in your hotel room. Ugh. It would have been nice to know the island was shut down for business with exception of a couple places. We wouldn't have wasted our time.

Upon check-in I was very disappointed as the description is a bit misleading. This property is not directly on the lake. The condo itself has a musty smell (very old furnishings) but once we opened windows and aired it out it was okay. There were no essential items available for the bathroom, I have attached pictures showing the soap bottles upon arrival. Lots of cob webs in the bathroom and it was highly overpriced as we found comparable rates at the Inn just down the road (actual lakefront property) with much nicer amenities. After we had been home for two days we were contacted via email by the owners telling us that they would be keeping half of our security deposit due to damage to their microwave. The microwave damage was present upon our arrival. Unfortunately since we only used the microwave one time on the very last day, we didn't think to get a picture proving that it had happened prior to arrival. Our mistake as the owners clearly took advantage of the situation charging us $100.00 for an appliance that had obviously been used many times by guests over the years. I would think that maintenance costs of the condo should be covered by the owners. Again, our mistake. We will not stay here again as there are much nicer accommodations on the island. This condo was definitely not worth the money!

Winter visit. Location is excellent- walking distance to town grocery, bar/ restaurant/ coffee shops and Joni's beach. About 1/2 mile hike to golf course or Casper Trail to snowshoe. About 3/4 mile to ice road vans. Plenty of blankets, towels, kitchen dishes, coffee pot, electric water kettle, dishwasher tabs, dish soap etc.Good communication from Connie. We had an issue connecting to the Dish TV. Connie helped resolve. Although the Dish TV signal was spotty all week. Picture would freeze or signal would get lost. We reported the bathroom sink dripped constantly & that there was a high pitch noise whenever shower was used. Coleen said they were in process of fixing. Perhaps the shower noise contributed to the hot water not lasting long. There was also a strong smell and taste from all water sources. You had to run the water several minutes until smell & taste disappeared. Microwave had a broken handle so must open delicately.Furniture in living room is worn & faded. The arms in chairs were dirty from use. Ottoman/ foot stool had a piece of fabric stapled over it. Furniture could use an upholstery deep cleaning or replacement. Balcony was excellent for views and space. Have stayed at other units in this building & this unit is quite worn in comparison. Functional, great location but could use some maintenance/refresh.

We had the best stay possible. The location was amazing as it was close to the ferry and town attractions, had parking available and had a superb balcony where we could enjoy the lakefront. We felt right at home throughout our stay.

Great location. Beautiful view. It was a great place to stay for a friends getaway at apple fest. Colleen was easy to communicate with and accommodated all of our needs.

My family of four was very comfortable. The condo had everything we needed. The host was very communicative and responsive. We loved the large balcony.

It was a great place to stay. Clean, comfortable and the balcony was big for a beautiful view. The only problem I encountered was the dog at the bottom of the step. I had to go around. He was a mix with pit bull. I am sure you can't help that. Dogs now days have more privileges than humans.

We had a great time! Property was perfect for our family of four. Location was great and communication with the host was wonderful! Wouldn't change a thing!

Our family of 4 came from Minneapolis for a few days and Colleen‘a place was just perfect! The view was just amazing and the location couldn’t be better! The Condo was exactly as described. It was just fantastic. Can’t wait to stay here again!

We came for the Apple Festival and really enjoyed staying on the island to get away from the crowds. The rental had an excellent view of Lake Superior and was equipped with just about everything a person would need.

Perfect apartment, very centrally located!

We were not anticipating staying on Madeline Island, but we are so glad we did! This location was perfect, right downtown easy to walk to all the shops and beautiful views for coffee in the morning or wine at night. Super clean, check in and check out were super easy and it was great having easy parking!

We were taking classes at the art school. Great location. Great space, Awesome deck with great view.

Great place to stay on Madeline Island. Conveniently located to everything in town. Clean, easy check-in/check-out. A beautiful balcony patio with fabulous views of the lake. We will definitely be back.
