Delux, spacious, clean condo with AC, WIFI, pool, golf course, near famous beach

The check-in instructions were to retrieve the key from the lock box. However, there was no key in the box and the door was locked. We attempted to call, text, and message Vanessa through the app with no response all night. I also reached out to VRBO customer support and they also were not able to contact her. After over an hour waiting outside in the dark with all of our luggage, the next door neighbor said we could go through their unit and try the lanai door on our unit, which mercifully was unlocked. Vanessa never reached out all night despite our multiple attempts to contact her. We were on our own. It felt unsafe and neglectful. I am glad no one traveling with children went through what we did.

This condo was advertised in the listing title as “Deluxe, Spacious, Clean Condo.” Unfortunately, the condition upon arrival was the opposite of clean. The unit was visibly filthy, with heavy dust accumulation, cobwebs containing dead bugs, grime on fixtures, and significant buildup in vents and corners that raised serious air-quality concerns. I documented everything with time-stamped photos taken the night of check-in. I have asthma, and after sleeping there one night, I could not safely remain in the unit. This was not a matter of personal preference or “different standards”—the property had clearly not been properly cleaned prior to guest arrival, despite cleanliness being explicitly advertised in the title. When I contacted the host immediately, the response was dismissive and unprofessional. Rather than acknowledging the condition, the host minimized the issues, implied that the price justified the state of the unit, and refused to offer any refund despite the health impact that forced me to leave early. After checkout, the situation escalated further. The host falsely accused me of stealing towels and threatened to charge me $200. I provided photo evidence taken at checkin showing that there were only 2 towels, proving the accusation was unfounded. The host also threatened to leave me a negative review in response to my complaints. I contacted VRBO for assistance, but no resolution or refund was offered. This experience was stressful, upsetting, and entirely avoidab

I didn’t understand the negative reviews. I had a great stay and Vanessa is an awesome hostess. I look forward to returning!

Do NOT stay here. The unit is dirty and unsafe; musty, moldy and grimy, no amount of cleaning could make this place liveable! There was bugs, grime, mold, broken screens and closers; we slept on the threadbaren towels on top of the bed in our clothes after finding hair, flakes and who knows what else on the bedsheets. No smoke detectorr in the bedroom, there is a hook up but no alarm ( code violation?) and the microwave is flush against the fridge so unable to open and if you can it causes heat and electrical smell as it does not have room to vent (not to code). The host is just out to hustle money and does not have any interest in making the unit habitable or enjoyable for guests; she was patronizing and rude. This place should be condemned and bulldozed! I was unable to find the short term rental license number on the state site and the host did not reply when asked. I am hoping VRBO steps up and supports us to have this listing removed and refunded so no other travels have their vacations interrupted by dealing with this unit and host! We left after one night, the host offered to meet us in the morning before we left to discuss but did not show up and continues to refuse a refund.. so frustrating this place is listed!!

Great location & very clean condo. It has a pullout couch so it could easily sleep 4. Vanessa is really nice & was very quick to respond. Would definitely stay again!

Also a large, gorgeous kitchen with granite countertops, equip with brand new stainless steel appliances and new hardwood floors as of August of 2017 Our condo is located on the putting green on the Turtle Bay Golf Course...You have the luxury of 24 hour security guards for extra protection of your personal items. This condo is a short 5-10 minute walk to breathtaking beaches where there is surfing and snorkeling...This condo is perfect for a luxury, upscale vacation at an extremely low price! The unit was filthy, dusty, screens broken & extremely dirty with white flakes on the bedding, hair on the floors, cob webs in the corners & light fixtures and rat feces on the dishes in the cupboards. There wasn't even a tub where the listing said it did. The host was rude, would not listen, saying I have 6 kids, I don't have time for your complaints! and that I was too picky and that the unit was in fact clean and amazing. She denied my refund even though I told her I could not stay there and left the unit after seeing the rat feces. She relisted the unit the very next morning at a higher price than what I paid. Pleas contact me to resolve.

Lovely unit in great location

I liked being on the grounds of Turtle Bay Resort, that i had a reserved parking spot, condo had washer and dryer, beach chairs provided to use and the safety of the area. I didn't like that the non-stick pans were old and eggs stuck to them badly, the big centipedes (3) inside the condo and that there was not a screen door and the patio door. Also, i was unable to watch tv, live or on any streaming network. When i tried it said not connected. It might have been a user error (me) but it would be helpful to have instructions provided.

The location was great, but the property was infested with bugs including a large centipede. we left the property 3 hours after our arrival. No refund was offered.

Vanessa was a wonderful host! Very accommodating and communicative. The condo was just as described - very comfortable, clean and the perfect spot for our family vacation to Oahu.

Everything was as it should be. The place was great and the location is beautiful. We especially enjoyed sitting on the back porch areas in the mornings and enjoying the beauty and peace of the plac.

Great stay, clean, nice view from back patio. Close to popular areas to visit. Host was very helpful and quick to respond.

DONT STAY HERE! Unless you don’t care about mold, dust and really cheap crappy bedding and kitchen supplies. The listing says delux, it’s far that. My husband myself and my teen son booked this condo for 3 nights. I read on one review after I booked there was mold on the ceiling. I had messaged the owner to inquire about this mold because if it was true, I wanted to cancel which she was willing to do at first but she had told me it’s not mold it’s just old water damage. I had told her at this point it would be really dangerous for my teenage son to be around any type of mold because of his health issues, she said there was no mold. Unfortunately, when we checked in, it was late at night and we had no choice but to stay the night. I checked out immediately the next day and she refused to refund me for the rest of the nights at that point I had to get VRBO involved and finally got my money back. The mold is out of control. The dust is out of control. There’s mold on the ceiling in the bedroom, The air conditioning units are disgusting Filled with mold and dust should not be used, their screens missing on the sliding door so you can’t even leave the doors open for a breeze if you want extra bedding for the pullout couch, good luck the pillows are about 20 years old. Anyways, I wish this review was there for me. The owner is poor to communicate takes a day or two to get back to you or longer and is a big liar.

As a guest, I shouldn’t have to search for needed items. Paper towels or dish towels should be left out. Beach towels should be placed where we could easily find them. Same with bathroom/shower soap and the notebook with needed information and suggestions for where to buy food for cooking or restaurants for eating.

Decent sized little one bedroom condo. Easy to find & access. Vanessa was responsive. A little lizard got in at some point during our stay but ran back out. I assume little bugs and critters are all normal because you’re in an island so it didn’t bother me. Great location. I enjoyed the easy stay!

Vanessa’s condo was the perfect home base for our North Shore adventure. Her instructions made it incredibly easy to find, and the unit itself was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. Kulilima Estates is a fantastic location — quiet, scenic, and just a short walk to the beach and nearby trails.One highlight was dining at the Beach House restaurant at Turtle Bay. It was a little on the pricey side, but the food and views were absolutely worth it — and thanks to the affordability of Vanessa’s condo, we felt great about treating ourselves.We appreciated the thoughtful touches and smooth communication throughout. Highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy the North Shore with ease and comfort.

Good kitchen, two AC window units, and new laundry machines. No Wifi. Note that you need to supply your own bathing soap, shampoo, etc. Bath towels, toilet paper, dish soap, and paper towels were provided. The bed is very soft leading to moderate discomfort but it was clean. Traffic noise can be loud but if you run the air conditioner fan it masks the noise. Make sure to confirm your reservation with the host using the cell phone number provided. I didn't recieve responses via the VRBO messaging system. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Location is great for North Shore. Unit was not very clean, no microwave, kitchen needs more kitchenware. Bathroom door would not stay closed. Host was helpful with key situation. Good parking.

We stayed for about two weeks. The owners were nice and helpful. The apartment itself was rundown and needs a lot of help. There was a new refrigerator, but it was too big for the space which made the microwave unusable. We ended up eating out most of the time. The bathroom was updated, but the ventilation fan did not work. It is closer to the road, so you will hear vehicles. All in all, it was a place for me and my family to sleep. My suggestion is if you can afford another space in this area do it. If not, try it out but don’t expect it to be a fancy place to stay.

Good stay. Mattress a little soft, towels need replaced (smelled sour even after washing), probably need someone to clean the wash machine, didn’t use but microwave door can’t open. I guess if I ran a BnB, I would put more into it and maybe charge a little more? However, Vanessa was great to work with, price was right, and we enjoyed our stay.

Vanessa was nice but was not good at responding timely in the app.We stayed for two nights, I’m glad we didn’t book for longer. The sheets were a weird material so they felt sticky. The place was musty, the AC units were dirty which made me nervous we were going to get sick from using them. The washer needs to be cleaned, it has mold on it and it smells. I wanted to do laundry since this was the middle of our two week long trip but didn’t because of the washer. The WiFi wouldn’t connect to the TV for us so we couldn’t use the TV in the bedroom. however, It was spacious and I loved the location.

Clean, in a great location, friendly renter. She had extra towels, chairs, boogie boards, and other great equipment we used during our stay.

They were attentive and responsive throughout our stay, providing helpful tips about local attractions and ensuring all our needs were met. It truly felt like they cared about making our visit as enjoyable as possible.Overall, our time in Turtle Bay was amazing, and I would undoubtedly stay at this condo again. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with attentive hosts, this is the place to be!

Upon arrival, we were shocked by the state of the unit. The issues included:•Mold on the ceiling•A strong, unpleasant odor throughout the space•Only three towels provided, all of which were stained and had a foul smell•No extra bedding for the sleeper sofa•The unit was generally unclean and unsanitary•There were bugs throughout the property•The listing was highly misleading, using terms like “luxury” and “nice” that did not reflect the actual condition of the spaceDue to these unacceptable conditions, we made the decision to leave immediately and secure alternative accommodations at our own cost.

Nice condo in an excellent location

Wouldn’t recommend it. Microwave didn’t work, so no light or fan over stove top. Light over kitchen sink didn’t work. Noisy because it was by a road. The louver windows did not close all the way allowing street noise to come in. No sliding screen door, and bugs could come in. Pantry was a total mess in disarray. Couldn’t use air conditioners they had mold on them. First time using VRBO, not sure if we will use again, can’t trust what we’ll get.

The unit was nice, but the birds outside the window in the tree woke us up each morning. They were loud! Mother Nature will have her way!

To begin I had sent a message to the owner, asking about previous reviews no response or follow up. We arrived at the place. The door was wide open. As we entered the place AC was off the place was pretty warm. I walked through and turned on both AC units around the floor, full of mold and mildew. AC units are not efficient in that place. In the description said it was renovated new furniture and flooring. That’s it. Walls were scraped up throughout the place, mold and mildew on all baseboards. The only thing going for it is the location. I informed the owner of the problems and heard nothing back. I am somebody that does not give bad reviews at all, but I just couldn’t give anyone the benefit of the doubt with any communication. I recommend to them they need as owners to go in the place and look at it. Beach chairs are severely rotted and one is very broken. Do not use. No instructions inside the home, home is bare minimum with kitchen supplies. If you’re willing to chance it, the microwave is still broke after three bad reviews. Definitely neglect to this place. Simple things could make this place… Fantastic.. But owners need to take more responsibility with this place. We only stayed two nights thank goodness.

We loved the stay here. Its in a great location. We where just close enugh to everything we needed without being right in the middle of it. The owner is amazing and so responsive and helpful. We already are planning out next trip!

We were unable to access the property because we did not receive the access code in a timely manner. The microwave oven did not work. The bathroom linens are in need of replacement. The bed creaked with any movement disturbing sleep. There was an odour emanating from the kitchen sink. The kitchen, living area were OK. Patio was pleasant. Generally the condo needs some attention.

Turtle Bay is a great location to access the beauty and joy of the North shore! I used to live on the North Shore, so I'm familiar with the wear and tear that takes place in a humid/island setting--totally normal. This property had some maintenance issues, the microwave doesn't work at all, the bed creaks every single time you move, and while it's as clean as you can expect on the North Shore, it was disappointing that some of these basic things have not been attended to (in apparently a long time--based on other reviews).

Unsure how this had negative reviews! Such a stunning property and home. Directions made it easy to find. A quick walk to the resort. We absolutely loved our stay. Would come back again. Microwave doesn’t work or really open if that is something you are hoping to use … we didn’t use but that would be the only “negative” .

Vanessa is a wonderful and communicative host. The property was clean and had all needed items for a wonderful holiday stay. Highly recommended!

We have stayed in this complex many times. Can’t beat the location and the resort. This place was clean and furnished nicely. Kitchen had the basics. Will look to stay here again.

If you've ever wondered what it would be like to pay Four Seasons prices for a Super 8 Motel, look no further! Everything the bad past reviews said? Spot on. I’d relist them, but honestly, what is the point?In short, if you love overpaying for mediocrity and have a good sense of humor about throwing money away, this is your dream destination.

TAKE MY ADVICE. DO NOT STAY HEREThe place was filthy and dangerousPower kept tripping & turning off lights would also flicker The fridge /freezer was covered in mould (sever health risk)Fridge had left over food from previous renters. No idea how old it was. Rental stated that the accommodation sleeps 4. However the sofa bed tiny and not a “bed” was like a park bench and my two little boys barely fit on there. No way an adult would fit. It was also dirty. bed linen was dirty and smelled. Pillows were stained. The bed had sand and hair in the sheets. Aircon in the bedroom was leaking water all over the power chord. washing machine and dryer did not work. There was mould and dirt all around the washer/dryer. The fire detectors/ smoke alarms had been removed from all rooms. (As far as I’m aware, smoke alarms are required by law)I tried contacted the host initially as we had trouble entering the rental. I also tried to call the host 5 times. Each time went through to voice mail. I finally got a hold of the host via text message, and after I voiced my concerns partially with the mould and power issues she replied with “I should have paid a lot more money” “I expected 5 star on a budget” to my response I just wanted a safe clean place to stay. She then replied with “well you should have done more research” and claims that her past guests loved staying there. Not according to the reviews. We had to leave and are now out of pocket 3000. I have photo proof of all.

Realistically, great for the price for the location and stay, but washer dryer out of order and not previously communicated. Overall, if it wasn't for a little deception, I would have given a 5. We are realistic about location, price, and cleanliness when it comes to a Hawai'i stay, because we're local expats. I can overlook the broken screen, baby gecko's hunting with the spiders, crumbs under the couch, and whatnot. I can sterilize and clean with the community. I do have a problem with the washer and dryer being featured in the listing but not actually being functioning. I am glad we brought and used our own sheets and towels. For the off peak pricing, and I would say it was still worth it as long as you lower your expectations and standards. It will be a little basic, old, and tacky (literally tacks holding up some stuff), but again, for the price and location, the value exists. Just think of it as visiting your stoner college buddies house for a weekend.

We gave a few specific items of feedback to the owner to help improve. They were responsive on every item. The location was not as quiet as we wanted, lots of road noise.

This was by far the best experience I’ve had with VRBO management! Vanessa was incredibly friendly and attentive, making our stay exceptional. Thank you for hosting us—we’ll definitely be back!

Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the condo considering how it was described and pictured in the advertisement. The location of the unit was great and we felt safe in the area, however, the condo itself hasn’t been maintained and didn’t meet our expectations. There were multiple coachroaches found dead in the apartment and a roach ran over my feet when washing dishes. The bathroom cupboards were in disarray with only 1 roll of toilet paper left in the cupboard that had clearly been water damaged. Other cupboards had random items in them too. The washing machine smelt mouldy and we were not prepared to use it to wash our clothes. The pillow for the couch had no pillow cases and were flat. The main bed was hard too. When we went to use a towel from the bathroom shelf, plaster dust fell from the towel onto the floor. We were also asked to strip beds and put towels and sheets into the washer before leaving. This wouldn’t have been a problem if it was evident that time had been spent cleaning the apartment prior to our arrival. We were asked to remove shoes before entering the condo which we did but then noticed all the dust in our feet. Internet wasn’t plugged in when we arrived and we had continuous trouble gaining access to live TV. The condo was cheaper than other condos in the area however we would still have expected a little more for what we received.

We loved the access to the beach. The house was ok except for the bathroom. The tub had trouble draining. No fan in the bathroom or window so it was pretty musty.

Owners very friendly, nice condo. Back patio has pleasant view of trees and part of the golf course. I saw some chickens wandering on the golf course, some other pretty birds came by and were feeding in the grass. Very close to the beach, just a few minutes drive.

“Newly remodeled, perfect condition condo” is so laughable! “Deluxe, Spacious, Clean”— Nope! Seriously, DO NOT stay here! The description of this place is not accurate! It was truly the WORST we’ve ever seen and absolutely disgusting. I’m so shocked that the owners would think this place is okay! We’ve stayed at Turtlebay condos many times and have always had such a wonderful experience. Added two nights here to extend our stay. I quickly booked after seeing “8.0 Very Good” and should have read recent reviews, because oh how accurate they were! Filthy. Bugs all over (especially by sink-no garbage disposal), spiders, and ants all over the unit, even crawling on me in bed! Cobwebs, dust and debris everywhere, particularly on and around furniture. Hair and white flakes in sheets. Long black hair in the shower, clump by the toilet and on bathroom walls. No “dresser” but a storage box with bins. AC leaking water with large pool underneath with water damaged baseboards. Spider city around the ac and very loud right by your face at night. Dryer vent blows right into unit and stinks. Flat and clumpy pillows, does not sleep 4 maybe two small kids on a dirty and stained couch. Loud, can hear all the cars. Host was to send cleaners, but they never came. Offered only to refund cleaning fee if I promised to not write a negative review. What a joke. This condo needs an extensive deep clean and major effort to have it be what they list it as! I have pics and videos of proof I sent to VRBO.
